Folks,

I can create a painting just fine thus far by just cloning it and recoloring the texture file but I cannot recolor the resulting painting and so am trying to recreate it using the tutorial

"HINT AND TIPS FOR QUICK CREATION OF COLOUR-ENABLED OBJECTS"
by Numenor and JWoods

I select all options except "pull only default color" (see 1st attachment), rename the files as instructed and click finish. When I go to do the following:

"Now you have to select the GMDC and take note of all the meshes listed in the "Model" list: we'll need them later on."

I find I don't have an entry "Geometric Data Container" (See attachment 2).

Could someone let me know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks and regards,
MegRDJ

I recommend this (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=104795) tutorial for cloning objects. Especially pay attention to the cloning options, and make sure you have the right ones selected. When you want the mesh (the GMDC) included in the package, do not select the "reference original mesh" option. By default, you should have the "pull only default color" selected, and the "stand-alone" option deselected. Also, animations shouldn't be pulled unless you're actually going to edit the animation files.

If you're only changing the painting texture and not the mesh, I recommend you instead create a recolor package, not a clone.
