Happy Birthday MTS2

Hi All,

The eagle eyed among you would have noticed that today is "officially" MTS2's third birthday. The very first site news item was posted up on the 14th May 2004, although the even sharper eyed would have also noticed that my join date is actually May 4th... :)

MTS2 has come a long way in the three years since it's founded. We've seen great creators come and go; sites born and die again; and a increase in the quality of items in the whole Sims 2 community, not to mention all the changes on the site itself.

With the Sims 3 not slated to hit for another year or so, and with more EPs and SPs coming from EA/Maxis, the Sims 2 is definately not dead yet and there is much more life in it - we are only just beginning to see more and more objects with custom animations, custom sounds and utilizing techniques that where once though impossible.

To give you all an idea of the scope of the changes and happenings in the community since the founding of MTS2, in conjunction with the Featured Creators and Staff here, I have created a Timeline of the Sims 2 community in both graphical and text form. May 2004? that means I have been here nearly since the beginning!

well, at that time I'd never thought I'd get into that stuff; when object workshop came out I was scared by the supposed difficulty that thing still had (well, it can't be much easier, but... you know...). And look what happened now. While not one of the most popular or featured, I have definitely become a creator. I, the one who would never have gotten into modding alone.

Good gawd 3 years already? =) Where the bloody hell did all that time go lol. My pc is kind of like a little time capsule of the history of MTS2 developments - I still have things like the first recolour, the first object and the first version S2CPI somewhere in my huge Sims 2 Info partition.

There were many times we thought the Delph's head was going to explode (and I think once it did - still can't get the stain out of the outfit) but not only did he hang in there - he just keeps making the site better and better. So many happy smooches to you Delph for making this baby fly!

Sims 3? I don't know if I'm ready to tackle that - ffs we have only really just got a handle on 2!
