For anyone interested, the release version of MilkShape 1.8.1 (available previously as a beta) has been posted at: http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/ms3d/download.html
The latest (4.09) UniMesh plugins are included with the install package. Of interest is that it includes support for 'skin and cloth' texturing while meshing. This is like the way bodies are textured in the game, one texture is the skin, the second is the clothes, with transparent parts that show the underlying skin (you have to extract two of the game .png texture files to do this).
