I've been having some trouble with custom content for Mac.
I just got a MacBook Pro with Leopard on it and I installed all The Sims 2 games except for OFB and Family Fun Stuff.

I originally had a PC where all of these files weren't difficult.

So now, I've downloaded a bunch of .ZIP and .RAR files and they all work.
I downloaded Stuff It for the .RAR files.

But the only ones that won't work are the .Sims2Pack files.
I double click and a box pops up saying "Double-click the file to install"

Leopard is different though, because of the Applications folder that it has.
So I had to install The Sims 2 to Applications instead of my hard drive.

I downloaded the 3 cars from The Sims 2 website, but they won't install.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

So will Leopard not let you install to the HD? Or is it a matter of you not having admin permissions to install there?

Try right click and install with, then select the package installer.

If your interested in testing a new program that works to install sims2packs try this one by Jfade (http://forum.djssims.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=316) program or you can try WooHoo (http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=56867), which installs sims2packs (not EA ones) just fine.

I haven't installed Leopard yet, but I've always had issues with installing .Sim2Pack files. I found that if I moved the .Sims2Pack files to the Applications/The Sims 2 folder (the folder with the main app as well as Body Shop and Package Installer apps) instead of trying to install them from where I keep my downloads from the web, Package Installer was suddenly able to read them. I have no idea why, but somehow putting the files closer to the app helped. I added a folder called Installed Packs to that folder to drop them in for cleanup afterwards.

It can't hurt to try. Good Luck!

p.s. I can't wait to try the Jfade Program! Thanks for the link!!
