View Full Version : [Mac User] Sim can't clean dishes anymore?

I have a sim who has lost the ability to clean dishes, apparently. It's not his Cleaning skill or his Neat rating, because they're both high enough and he used to be able to--no, I can't even click on the dishes anymore. (If I can, I only get the options of "eat" or "put away leftovers.") His wife still has the option of "clean," but the two work very different shifts and it's irritating to leave his dishes green and rotting until either his wife gets home or the maid shows up. I don't know of anything to try other than moving the household out and back in, but it took me a long time to decorate their house so I'd rather not :P Please tell me if you have any other possible solutions for me to try, thanks!

Have you tried resetting the sim? I've had this happen quite a few times and resetting them worked half the time. The other times, I had to move the sim to the simbin and back to the house.
http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Force_Error_or_Reset You can either force an error, or use moveobjects on to delete the sim.

Let us know how you get on.

I tried force error earlier, and tried moveobjects deletion but got scared and didn't save ^_^" I'll try it again. (I also tried making him unselectable and then selectable again, which didn't help.) I'll let you know what happens...

Well, deleting him with moveobjects worked. Thanks a bunch! I don't think I would've had the guts to save if I'd just thought of it on my own...

Glad to see you got it working. :) Moveobjects on deletions of sims is a tried and true technique that usually resets the sim data. Well done!
