View Full Version : Mesh Distorted after Regrouping

Hey, everyone!

I have just finished creating a mesh for a new object and created a UV texture map for it. The mesh is in three separate parts, because they each need specific textures on them.

However, when I import the mesh back into MilkShape (V 1.8.2), and regroup each part into one main group, my mesh becomes really distorted.

I can't keep the mesh in 3 parts because it wouldn't work properly in the game if I did, so I need to be able to regroup these properly!

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks!

To use a separate texture image, a mesh part needs to be in it's own group.
When you regroup, only one texture will be used for the new group.
You will have to combine all three parts on the same texture map, or modify the package to use three groups.

Thanks, wes_h.

I used UVMapper, so I only have one texture map for the entire object, but I had to make the object in three different groups in order to separate them on the texture map. So I have that part down OK.

Afterwards, though, when I try to merge all three groups into one in MilkShape is when I have big problems with the mesh distortion.

Perhaps modifying the package to use three groups and different textures for each would be easier. Would you know any god tutorials for doing this?
