I want to create a genetic set of skin that willl change with the seasons. I have Seasons, obviously X_x But you see, these creatures are to be based off of some characters from a book I am writing who change with the seasons, BUT they also need genetics based wings in varying colours and a set hair colour for babies born in a specific season. I am, obviously, new to this, so I need some pointers. I have photoshop, though I don't remember which specific one it is. Not only must the skin change with the seasons, a child born with a specific skin colour must stay that way until they are Teens, when the skin will start changing with the seasons. Their hair colour will not change.

My ideas are as follows

Children born in winter will be stark white with black hair, simple enough I believe.

Children born in spring will be pink and green, with pale green hair.

Children born in Summer will be bright oranges and purples, their hair would be lilac and blonde, occasionally brown.

Children born in Fall will have extremely dark skin, that starts dark on the face, is red on the chest and orange and brown on all extremeties. Their hair will be brown and red.

In addition, babies and toddlers will not have wings, but once they reach childhood, if they have the dominant gene for wings, they will grow wings. I want it to work as incomplete dominance if a sim with this skin and a sim with a standard skin have a child, that they will still change with the seasons, but to a diminished degree.

Until teen years, they would remain that colour, but will then begin changing with each change of season. I also need to halt their aging at adult-hood, but have every other Sim without this skin to continue aging as normal (excluding Vampires and other sims who do not age). I am quite over my head, and any pointers at all will be greatly appreciated!

I don't believe the thing with the wings can be done genetically. To date I do not know of anyone who has successfully created genetic accessories - they must be applied once the sim ages to toddler or later.

The hair colour for babies can be done as (well, must be done as, actually) part of the skintone - just texture the scalp on the baby age to look like hair.

I'm going to move this over to Modding Discussion as I think you might get more help on the other aspects there than in the skinning area, which is more about the texturing aspects. I will say this - as an absolute beginner, this is going to be a Very Challenging project if it is even possible, and you may have to compromise in some areas or employ some method of workarounds (like some sort of controller that you would have to set up for each sim to tell it which skin the sim has), and I don't know if it would be possible to do that "incomplete dominance" thing at all.

Someone with more knowledge of how the nuts and bolts of skins work would have a better chance of helping you out, so I'm gonna quit rambling here and let someone else take over. ;)
