I recently installed Nightlife and am now having some issues with the CC.
Before, I had only the base game and 2 Stuff packs (Family Fun and H&M Fashion). I copied all my game data, including the CC to another computer, installed the new EP and then moved all the game data back. My old neighborhoods show up, as do all my old sims and all the clothing I down loaded. However, no other custom content is showing up. No houses, no DLed sims, no furniture. Nothing.
I'm not quite sure what to do. I tried deleting and re-installing some things but it still won't show up. What are my options?

Take a look at this:

It contains all known methods for making CC show up.

Thank you. I'd skimmed that area earlier but couldn't find what I needed, then took a closer look and found it. Again, thanks.

Well done, the Wiki articles have been written and honed from centuries of wisdom and memories passed down through the generations. Well, not really- but sometimes it feels like it! They are definitely the first thing to read when you have problems- and if you read them first, you most likely won't get the problems!

Makes sense. Unfortunately, I just skimmed it the first time I read it. There are a few things still not showing up, but I think that was more an error of them not being saved properly.
Just as my husband was about to install the new game (as well as the new video card he'd gotten me for my birthday) my computer went :P . He had to re-install windows. He was able to move everything from my hard drive over to his hard drive, but I think a few things got lost in the shuffle. I'm missing 3 sims, a few other files and houses. No biggie.
Thanks for the advice. I'll read more carefully next time.

The best advice by far is this:

If your PC has two drives, make sure you have a copy of your important files (not just Sims data, but other stuff too!) on both hard drives. If not, copy your files across the network to a different computer if you have that facility; if not then to an external hard drive, CD/ DVD or a flash ('pen') drive. That way you won't lose anything if your PC dies again!
