My widower Sim can't remarry

My Sim, Dolph, was married to a woman called Val who tragically died. Val would regularly haunt the house, but I could never see her grave, she didn't seem to have one. Dolph now is in a relationship with Caryl Zarubin and wants to marry her but the option is not there! I've read on some threads that if you delete the gravestone it solves any remarriage problems as it breaks the link between husband and wife, but of course VAL HAS NO GRAVESTONE!

I then moved Dolph out and bulldozed the house to ensure any invisible gravestone was destroyed but Dolph still cannot propose! I wouldn't mind usually, but his lifetime want is to reach his golden wedding anniversary. He's been through so much, I really want him to achieve it. How can I break this posthumous link between him and Val? :turtle:

First, test without your Downloads as it could be a hack issue:

If you don't have any luck with that, you'd have to backup and then edit the sims' character files and family ties with SimPE. There are also hacks like Insim which may do this (*waits for Insim users to reply*).
