This question is a simple one that I guess only needs a yes or no... (oh, simplicity, you're still alive...)

I've got an awful lot of .sims2pack files, that I really want in my game. I'm under the impression that to install such files I have to double click them, install them, tell sims2pack clean installer that, yes, I want all packages to be installed, and... done.... now continue this for the 150 other .sims2pack files.

my question: If I just place these sims2pack files into my download folder, are they installed? or do I have to painstakingly click each and every one to install them, or can Sims2pack clean installer do a mass install for me?

ohoh, if the answer is "Yes", you can always add a way to "Mass install sims2pack files". I'd be soooooo very grateful

Cheers and thanks,
Rav.

Yes, you need to double click a sims2pack to install- the game cannot read sims2packs so it is no good putting them in your downloads folder. If you are installing lots of sims2pack walls/ floors, you could use this:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=37577
However I wouldn't recommend installing multiple lots that way, for two reasons:
1) They need import files generated to work correctly, which the multi installer doesn't do but the Clean Installer does;
2) You could end up inadvertently installing unwanted/ incompatible hacks.

.sims2pack files have to actually be installed - that is, opened up and the contents dropped in your Downloads. Putting .sims2pack files in your Downloads will -not- have them read by the game.

Though Q-Xpress is no longer supported and no longer used by this site, you can use its local install feature to multi-install sims2pack files: http://qxpress.modthesims2.com/ Clean Installer will not multi-install sims2pack files.

Simsample, thank you much. you've no idea how much you've hellped me out with that nifty tool in that thread you gave me (certainly when apparently I didn't just had 150 packages but around 1000). (I do seem to have some problems, but I think that might be because I don't have all expansions). Anyway, I'm very grateful and if I could give you a cup of coffee I would.
Cheers.
Also thanks HystericalParoxysm. I have Q-Xpress installer, but I couldn't seem to do it, it always ran out of memory or something. but thanks for the help nonetheless
