Hi,
I do apologize if this has already been asked, but I haven`t been able to find a solution. I have all EP's except Pets, but up to Bon Voyage. When I tried to play the game, I got this error message:

"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I am running Windows Vista, here are the rest of my system specs:

I have also uninstalled my drivers, used DriverCleaner.net to clean the system, and then reinstalled the most recent drivers and I'm still getting the same error message. I followed the instructions in the thread here from MTS2: http://nene.modthesims2.com/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Graphics_Cards

Does your card pass all of the directx diagnostic tests? Also try removing the config folder from Documents\ EA Games\ The Sims 2.

Thanks for your reply. I removed the Config folder from Documents\ EA Games\ The Sims 2, and still no luck. The DirectX Diagnostic test is the dxdiag, correct? How do I know what is a pass/fail?

D'oh, I must have missed that you were on Vista- you can't do the DX tests on Vista like you can on XP. Does dxdiag report that Directdraw and Direct3d are enabled, and that your driver is detected correctly?

Yes it says that both Directdraw and Direct3d are enabled. The driver is detected correctly. With the specs that I have is my computer actually able to handle Bon Voyage, Seasons was working fine. I'm starting to lose hope that I'll never get it to work.

I ended up uninstalling and then reinstalling it, and everything seemed to work fine after that.
