View Full Version : Can you combine faces?

I needed some extra vertices in order to Frankenstein two mesh parts together. What I really needed was to be able to split the faces in half vertically (so I would have more vertices in the horizontal rows), but the closest I could come was to use "Subdivide 4", which divided the faces vertically and horizontally. So now I've got a partial horizontal row of extra vertices, and they tend to want to bend... so I'm getting gaps in my mesh.

First, is there any way to combine the faces (to make four become two)? If not, can I set the bone weights on those vertices so they don't cause gaps?

I guess that isn't a right forum. By the way, Are you using Milkshape? Select 2 vertices and go to Vertex/Divide edges. It will divide a face in two, and you can drag for where you want.

Why wouldn't it be the right forum? It's a meshing question.

I solved the problem by merging my extra vertices with those in the row above and adjusting the bone weights. It works fine now.
