Sorry, I didn't know where to put this thread coz' it's kind of a The Sims 2 and Sim City 4 problem in one.
I'm trying to create a city in Sim City 4 and import it into The Sims 2 as a neighbourhood but I'm having trouble. I know mostly how to do it:

E.g. build the city (smallest city size) and import the city's 'sc4 file' into The Sims 2 neighbourhood folder, then go into The Sims 2 and Create New Neighbourhood and select your city from the list)...

but when I select my city in the 'Create a neighbourhood' menu, it tells me The Sims 2 can only import small sized cities. However, my city is the smallest possible Sim City 4 city size as far as I can tell. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? :(

Check that you are doing everything right here:

Yeah I looked in that link you provided and found I'd been doing everything right according to that. So thanks anyway but any other ideas :report: coz' I'm still stumped as to why it won't work...? I'll keep trying anyway.

Do SC4 files from this site work correctly for you? Try downloading a terrain to test with. Also, cut and paste your existing Documents\ EA Games\ The Sims 2\ SC4 Terrains folder to the desktop, so that the game generates a fresh one. You could also attach one of your SC4 terrains to your post so that I can look at it, too.

I think I got it... I dunno how. It just seems to be working now and I don't think anything I did should've helped it but at least it's working now. Now my next problem: I loaded up my new neighbourhood and TS2 automatically deleted random pieces of my roading system (roads, I didn't use streets). They were fine in the original SC4 file and now... some are gone. Why would it do this? and more importantly, how do I fix it?
Also, because this thread is in tools... I'm having trouble using the Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer. I click things I've downloaded and drag them onto the Sims2Pack icon and some don't work. Some of them in particular are clothing and facial hair packs. And another is a Garage Door and Driveway Mod.

For the roads- I've never had this happen so I'm guessing there must be something the game doesn't like about the missing roads. Were they on an unusual gradient, or diagonal perhaps? The Sims 2 cannot have diagonal roads. Try replacing the roads in SC4 to see if that helps.
For the Clean Installer, what are you trying to do specifically? The Clean Installer will scan files but you need to open the program first. For unpacking Sims2Packs, you need to double click the sims2Pack file. What is the file extension of the files you are trying to read?
