Hellu!!!

I wanted to know your opinions about an issue relating to custom (downloaded) Sims. I have some custom Sims in my game which I have downloaded from Mod the sims, and I noticed some things that happen when I make them have children together.

For example:
if I breed a custom Sim and a Maxis Sim, the child will look almost exactly the same as the custom Sim; I know this is because of the genetic mechanism in the game, but last time one of my white custom Sims had a child with a black maxis Sim and the child was completely white like the mother...

if I breed two custom Sims, that's when the real problems start, as more than one time I had children with half their head missing because they had no hair!

Am I doing something wrong, is this how it should be or is there something that can be done about it?

It's not a big problem just more like a curiosity, although it would be good to be able to breed two custom sims, to have prettier children!!

thanks!!

Well, sometimes the genetics system with two seemingly beautiful sims can create butt-ugly monsters, just because it's not like real genetics.

I would imagine the skintones issue is due to custom skintones (the game can't "mix" custom skintones; so if the sim used a custom skintone, the game wouldn't know it was white, so it would just pick either the black skin or the custom skin).

The hair sounds like the game is trying to use the parent's hair, which doesn't have a child/toddler version - just use a mirror to change the hair and it should be fine.
