I'm getting disappointed about some complaints. Some say the people don't look Japanese but look mulit-racial, some say world sounds like salsa, etc. So let me ask, how good is Takemizu?

I believe someone mentioned the fact that none of the townies looked Japanese and someone from Maxis said they did not set up a whole genetic profile to make all townies look a certain way so....

I really like it. I love the little things like how they serve tea, the bowing gesture, and the actual settings. I don't mind the fact that the locals are not identifiable as Japanese or Chinese because I tend to imagine my Sims as from a separate reality to this one, and I LOVE the outfits. I'm sitting here waiting for someone to create a mesh allowing my pregnant sims to wear the clothes and keep the bump because that would be so cute!

I haven't got any SIm to learn Tai Chi yet, but I really want to. The image of Sephiorth and my other RPG fighter-type or swordsman-type Sims doing it just feels right.

But is there any available fix for the World music?

There's a fix for the music at MATY here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9659.0.html
It makes the speakers play the proper music. I hope that's what your looking for :)

I like the asian village too. I only wish they could learn to paint Kanji and water colors at a low table.

I dunno about anyone else, but I really like it. :3 It doesn't seem to be a very kid-friendly place, as child sims would be quite bored there. The ideal age would be teen and up. I had my small family of two (a mom and her teenage son) go there, and they loved it. =D I'm sending them to the beach next when their benefits from the vacation run out. =3

For me, Its my least favorite place :/ The good thing about it is the decorations/scenery, but I feel the only thing to do there is socialize and sight-see. Im more of an activity type person when it comes to vacation, thats why I like the beach and camping better.

It depends on what you'd consider "good". If you want realism, then no, it isn't. The locals don't look Japanese/Chinese, and yes, Salsa music plays (although that's a glitch. They're meant to be World Music), and there isn't a whole bunch of stuff to do. On the other hand, what it does offer is pretty neat. Mahjong, tea tables, teleporting, bowing, tai chi (which I've yet to find.), hot springs..it all depends on what you're looking for.

I think it's ok, but I was disappointed with it because I was expecting more asian-themed stuff. There just didn't seem like there was as much to do there as in the other two locations. So I liked it the least after having anticipated it the most. It's still fine, I don't mind it, but it's not as fun as the other two locations in my opinion.

I tought takemizu was prety good,it could've been expanded more. the Green Thickket manor looks way better with the Tokyo build set by windkeeper. I like the ninja and the wise old man was cool, it's getting boring though, because I learned the Dragon Tale and the brother learned to teleport and made a wish, while the sister won at Mahjong, they both ate the dish, both learned the bow and they both got the Dragon Tale. All in the first day and morning!

I find it a great place to take single sims - I have a sim that is a really shy loner, lives alone and has the knowledge aspiration...she loved her holiday in Takemizu.

No to hijack, but I keep hearing people talk about the wise old man..where is he? I searched high and low and I have no idea where he is..of course it's probably right under my nose and I'm completely missing it. But eh.

Well, I don't really have any prob with changing the multi-racial locals to Japanese/Chinese/Korean, but the thing is, there's not much Korean stuff. Sorry if I'm a bit to criticky but it said Far East, so I hoped not only Japanese or Chinese but also Korean.

I imagine it's only Japanese and Chinese stuff as many people don't seem to realize there are any other countries in Asia. ;)

But didn't Maxis make hanboks (Korean counterpart of kimonos) in Nightlife and other Korean stuff like the kimungo?

yeah it is weird about the Korean stuff, because before this EP it seemed like almost all of the "Asian" items in the game were actually Korean (and some Chinese). Just read the descriptions for anything with an Asian theme in the decorative category. Maybe they were trying to beef up the Japanese culture references with this EP?

Yep. I think the hanboks were actually from the base game, along with (as said above) other Korean items. Before this expansion the game has had some Chinese, Thai, Korean, and Japanese clothes/items . . . maybe stuff from more Asian countries too. I'd have to go check the clothes/items again. I'm not saying EA/Maxis doesn't know of the existence of Korea or other Asian countries, but the Far East vacation area was trying to paint the picture of many people's vision of Asia as Japanese/Chinese stuff. My guess, anyways, why it was done like that. Could be totally wrong. [/ramble]

They shouldn't have left Korea out. It's a nice country too...

I got so feed up with it that I deleted everything and mad my own playable/live-in able copies of each vacation destination.
