Mine was worth 5k when I first found it. I saved it for a day to see if it would gain any value but it dropped instead, so I sold it.

The first time I used the interaction (at home) the Sim dug up that blue 3-vase set you can get that isn't very expensive.

It was a bit odd. The Sim was at gold at the time.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Poor Lauren dug up three waterpipes and I don't know how many rocks and bones. While her child son Jayden dug up two bowls of cut glass, a shell and a necklace! >_<

 too funny! I'm still hopeful she'll find something useful but it probably won't be in her backyard. :D

Has anyone asked what kind of bones? I mean, doesn't anyone else think it's strange that these sims are digging up bones in their backyard? Have the police been alerted?

You did choose your username for a reason, right? :D The bones they dig up are those pet bones for the dogs.

I found random stuff...a few pieces of shell or sea glass jewelry(while on vacation) the secret lot maps, a "Bowl O Orbs", the little 3 pots with roosters on them...I think that's a seasons decorative item, LOADS of rocks and bones, nothing else really...excpet for a few water mains.

I haven't found water mains yet. My Sims found a couple maps though. One of my guys got to meet the Wise Old Man at one of the hidden locations. I left it on free will and my Sim, who had only three nice points, was rather rude to him, so I quickly had him go home before it got out of hand.

Mine seems to have a nice bone collection going as well. I think Twikkii Island was built on an Indian burial ground or something. I think next time we'll leave Carol Anne at home. :loco:

OK, done it some more times now, generally after a dog has done some of the digging for me.

We've got:

1 dog chew-bone (that became a quick 50 simoleans)
1 skippy the flat rock (now adorning the front step)
2 maps
And the set of vases (which turned ou to be worth 225 simoleans).

Jeez, with so many bones found, our Sims should have the option to build a skeleton. Then turn it into a maid like in Makin' Magic, lol. ;)

Do the maps help you find the secret lots? If so, how??
Anyway i'm yet to find a watermain or a treasure chest...that's pretty cool. Mainly rocks, a glass deco bowl, a bone and jewelery

Leave the map in your inventory. When you visit the vacation destination that the map is for, and choose to visit a community lot, the secret location will be in the list, marked by a question mark.

Gyrobot, thats real hilarious. U had a full team going at it. I tried to get my whole family of four plus 2 neighbors that i made selectable to dig and i still didnt find anything, well not the tressure. All i found were rocks and bones and ofcourse the water main.

The water main and what to do about it: Fill the hole. (Pretty obvious solution, eh?)

On Twikki, I was unable to get the secret map by going on tours. Other people say they got it easily that way, but I wasted a lot of time and money trying to get it. But DIGGING in the backyard on Twikki got it for me on the third hole. More digging got other maps for the other vacation lots, plus assorted dumb things like cheap standard-game statues.

While plundering the Captain's hold on the pirate ship, I was able to get Captain Dredd's Treasure Map. The caption bubble when you find it says that "X marks the spot." I haven't figured out what to do with it yet, if anything. Digging immediately thereafter didn't get me a treasure chest, so it might just be ornamental. (Somehow, that doesn't sound likely, does it?)

The neighborhood description for the Numchuk lot says Who knows what treasures may be buried here... I tried digging at Numchuk, but no treasure was found. Still, that neighborhood description was suggestive. Maybe it means nothing.

Captain Dredd's treasure map is purely ornamental, unfortunately.

I found the treasure in Takemizu. I tried many times everywear. I think it is random. I usually have no luck in games and it took me ages before I finaly found it.

I've given up on going anywhere to search - I have a strong suspicion that every time you dig (no matter where you dig) there are odds of finding a particular item - obviously a high percentage that you'll find a rock or a bone, somewhat lower of finding a knick knack, etc). I just dig in the same exact spot every time. It's worked out well - have found all three maps, countless knick knacks and one treasure that way, all from the comfort of home ;)

I have a beggary sim that earns his living from finding and selling stuff he digs up on the community beach. I do hope he will find the treasure soon. Rocks sell quite well though. :)

So far I have found 8 chests, I have 7 of them in my vault, the 8:th i had beside my bed, THAT was not good... I have alarm but a burglary got my chest anyhow. Lucky me the police got him, but i only got 4500 for the chest.
With the vault... no doors or windows, I can relax and not worrieing about thiefs.
When i have 10 I will start selling them making ALOT of money :p Then I buy the whole town HEHE...

So far the only sim I've sent on vacation has found (and this list may be incomplete as my memory is SHOT!! XD):

- Countless Skippy the Stones and Rocky the Rocks.
- Same with those annoying bones. She's going to get a CAT! lol
- Two clam shells, one conch, one starfish
- Seashell earrings
- Bowl of sea glass, and that annoying rooster bowl from Seasons
- Two maps (to the Twiikki and Three Lakes hidden lots)
- One treasure chest
- One statue of that golden frog
- One of those odd dolls that you can dig up
- Two blue Ming (or whatever dynasty) vases

That's it. >< But she did find two gold dubloons in the Captain's Cabin. *shrug*

LMAO!! Awesome! XD

What you find is based on random chance, but the odds that you find a bone or a rock are very high...not so high for the other stuff. I have found two secret lot maps, those are the only things of value I have ever found (I have to admit that I don't have my sims dig very often though). I like to have my sims dig for stuff when they are freshly created and as poor as the dirt they are digging in so they can at least buy a lamp or something. XD (I don't use money cheats...there is too many clever and interesting ways to earn money in the game.)

Also I believe stuff like sea shells and sea glass are only found on the beach. At least that is what the Prima Guide says and that is the only place my sims have ever found things like that. And the bones are real and not rubber. They look slighty different than the white rubber bone. If the sim is human and doesn't have a dog, I sell the bones. If the sim is a monster I use them to decorate their yard with to scare away anyone who wants to visit. ;) XD

My Legacy Sim Has Found SO MUCH GOOD Treasure, but I sold some of it because the rules for BV in the poverty challenge haven't been applied :D but I stopped now (Besides it was bones and rocks I sold, not the BIG treasure [in which her future hubby found the treasure chest... that sickens me XD )
