Today, Edwin had a wish to help his sister Roxie, who had just gotten on academic probation, with her assignments. aww.
I've never seen that one before. He kept rolling it too! so I finally let him do it.

Sometimes you can view right away what a toddler's predetermined hobby is (as in, it'll be highlighted), if it's something they can't discover until childhood, like sports or games.

I discovered this like supa late. But when I put my mail box on my porch, obviously, the front porch. The taxi drives up on the porch and drops or picks people up..My eye literally twitched -.-"

Bigfoot cannot use the Renu-U Senso Orb, nor does the SimBlender have the ability to change his aspiration. I'm highly annoyed. :(
That's because the aspiration dialog also forces you to pick turnons and turnoffs. I'm not sure it would actually hurt for him to have turnons and turnoffs, since he would still be unable to do romantic things or have chemistry, but that's the rationale behind why he can't change aspiration.

Yep, Oreos; you waited till either energy or bladder were too low and they got cranky and wouldn't cooperate. That's why I monitor toddler needs obsessively.

That makes sense. I also noticed, when giving him a secondary aspiration, that Family, Romance, and Pleasure options are unavailable, which also makes sense.
The SimBlender doesn't require the choosing of TOs/TOs, though. Something hard-coded that prevented TJ from including that feature for Bigfoot, perhaps?
Oh well. I had the first Bigfoot (Phil) go to Three Lakes and invite the replacement (Dwight) to move in as well, and Dwight is Popularity also. Sucks that I can't change primaries, but at least Knowledge, Fortune, and Grilled Cheese are available as secondary aspirations.

Ah, yes. I've never seen it before but it's been difficult because it is the first generation of a legacy and the dad was killed by lightning before the toddler was born. I think both bladder and energy were low....

I discovered that I can not make a basement to save my life. I was doing rather well, until it comes down to covering it back up. o.O Then it just won't go, and then I can''t build the wall. SOOOOOOOOOOOO yeah, I am discovering that I am a good builder, but when it comes down to a basement...I fail -.-"

That outgoing guys get the option to use the campfire when their bladder is low just like they do with the bushes. I thought it was hilarious but really laughed when they finished because it puts out the fire.

I discovered that sims can flirt with each other autonomously. O_o
I found this when I was having my Sim buy new clothes at the clothing shop, and one of my neighborhood Sims popped up. They were talking to townies and hanging out as normal, until this random townie decided she wanted to flirt with him! D:< They have a CRUSH on each other now! I was so shocked and mad because he wasn't supposed to have a crush on anyone yet! I was saving his first crush for when he was an adult as a part of the neighborhood story, but that townie just had to make a move! Grrr...
Also, this happened when my Sim brought a friend home from school. I let them talk to eachother a bit so they could become friends (I was trying to help out with his dad's career) and when I stopped making them interact, she FLIRTED with him! I quit without saving--and thank goodness she didn't show up again when he got home. The frick is wrong with these girls trying to steal my boys away from me! D:<
I also discovered today that even grouchy Sims with zero nice points can have a heart, too. I was having my Sim go fight with his brother (they hate eachother's guts) and just when you'd think he'd been rubbing his hands together and grinning all devilishly, he actually looked up and me and whined before doing it. When I had him insult his brother, attack him, throw a drink in his face and all that, he kept giving me that sad face and even rolled a want to apologize to his big bro! I was shocked--I mean, a Sim with no niceness points actually feeling bad about being mean to other Sims? :wtf: I wonder what gave him a change of heart...

Autonomous woohoo can't happen in an unmodded game, but autonomous flirting has always been possible, once a sim has a gender preference.

McChocolatey, stop fighting it and roll with it! The boy is obviously a chick magnet - there's story there! The boy who hates his brother but doesn't want to, ditto - especially if his brother doesn't want to make up.
If you let them do a lot of the story work, the stories come out better. Trust me. They'll do things you'd never have thought of, things you actively don't want, and make you like it; and one day you'll look back wondering why you ever wanted it any other way.

Forgive me, but I'm skeptical about that. I suppose they might have made autonomous woohoo possible in a later EP, long after I started using ACR anyway, and thus wouldn't see a difference, but it's hard to imagine them doing that. It's a T/Teen game, but I suspect woohoo was carefully left NON-autonomous in order to get that rating.

Yeah, guess so...I dunno, it will take some getting used to. I am a control freak after all. :p But now that I think about it, that may be what separates one Sim from another. I'll try it, n' see what happens...I just hope Goopy won't be too bad to make over for a possible future wedding. *shutters*
@Mootilda
The only mods I really have are:
Poseboxes (for storytelling pics)
The grilled Cheese and Date counter
...And that's about it. I don't think I added anything major to my game to make Sims suddenly interact romantically with eachother. There's never been an autonomous woohoo, either--just flirting from two teenage Sims.

I discovered that the things the sims do can have very big impact on their psysics. I had a man date one of my sims, they were out to dinner and so on. Later she did call back saying "hey, that was awsom. Do you want to do it again?". Sure he said and they had an other date. I should not bother you whit details but when the dates was over, she did not go home. Instead she stayed at the nightclub and ordered food a couple of times. For some (unknown) reason this woman is constantly hungry so I was'nt surprised. The I played her last time she had a "medium" body but now when I opened the family she was at the very bottom of the scale. From "medium physics" to "very fat" in two dates.

I built a swim center for my neighbourhood Morbiton Valley, and while some sim was visiting there, relaxing in hot tub etc. etc, a playable from another family showed up and was swimming in the pool. The next time I played his family he seemed to have lost weight. He had triple bolts with another sim, when he was fat, but after slimming down only 2 bolts. He likes dancing too so maybe that was how he got fit.

I discovered today that there's a "bathe together" interaction between toddlers and their parents. This is a pretty rare occurrence for me, since it's popped up before but I accidentally x'd it out not knowing what it was (this was years ago). Unfortunately, I x'd it out again the second time it came up, but I learned a few things about it from that:
1. It's autonomous, so you can't force the interaction to happen when you want
2. The parents are the ones who initiate the action
3. It only happens when a toddler's hygiene and (most likely) social needs are low (well, not low enough for them to get a warning about possibly being taken by the social worker, of course).
Has anyone had the "bathe together" interaction come up before?

Last night the Swains' nanny made them lobster thermidor!
Erik and his wife both got home at 6, so I guess some "make supper" code kicked in. If the Newsons had gotten a nanny like this when the twins were toddlers, they wouldn't be insisting on never hiring one now.

Been a while since I played, but last night I decided to fire it up again and within the first few minutes, I learned something new! Sims can do yoga on a coffee table!
I was playing a sim with high body, fitness and yoga levels and happened to hover over the coffee table when I noticed the little interaction asterisk. I clicked it and up popped the action, "Yoga". I thought it was a crazy bug or side effect of one of my many mods at first, but I was intrigued so I clicked it--so cool! My sim did a little flip onto the table and began practicing her yoga poses. Cool animation!

There is always something to discover. A week ago I had a funny thing on a hobby lot. Some of my sims do sport and then they can visit this hidden health club. A older sim use to be there and swim in the indoor pool but on this occation something went wrong. The woman was in the pool in her everyday clothes. Then she get out of the pool changed to swimwear and jumped in again. Funny, I have never seen it before.

Unfortunately, there's no chance of Dina or Nina having green babies (unless they're abducted with a hack in place or their partner is green) in a standard Pleasantview. I'm not sure about the megahoods, though, since I believe at least some of them have fixed genetics.

Isn't the green alien skintone a genetically dominant one? I've never had that much alien offspring in my neighborhoods, but I've always thought it was. In that case only green parents could pass the "green skintone" gene on to their children. Dina and Nina both have normal skin, so I'd say neither of them has the alien skin gene. And it's not even a mistake by MAXIS, but totally normal, too, so even "fixed" genetics wouldn't let them have green offspring. (Except, of course, via new abduction/ father with green skin.)
Or does anyone know a case where the alien gene actually skipped at least one generation and re-appeared later?

The default alien skintone can become recessive, and thus skip a generation: if you scroll about halfway down this livejournal entry (http://rikkulidea.livejournal.com/57938.html), the legacy heir (who has a non-alien skin) ends up having quads, two of whom end up with alien skin.

I'm not sure about it skipping a generation, but isn't rather odd that Flamenco Caliente (Nina and Dina's dad) doesn't have alien skin? At least I don't think I've ever had an alien abduction baby without the green skin. (I don't have custom skins and don't know if that would affect anything.)
I'm playing a sort of pre-Pleasantview hood and my Flamenco is the result of Nestor's abduction and my Flamenco is quite green. Dina and Nina both have normal sim skins, but it took a few exit-without-savings in order to get that. (Actually, that's Flamenco over to the left, there, after happily being struck by lightening.)

A ghost wandering through the house can wake up a sleeping toddler (but not scare the little tyke by doing so). I got General Buzz remarried and his daughter Missy was in her crib, and Lyla's ghost was wandering through, woke up Missy. I got Tank up and had him hold his sister (since her energy was still low enough), then put her back in her crib.
Then his mom's ghost scared him. After which I moved her grave to a community lot!

I haven't seen an alien abduction baby come out with anything but green skin yet -- even with my freelance pollinator Ellison, who snagged some of yellow alien Idun's genetic material on a walkby -- but it must be incredibly, remotely possible? Or else Maxis was just messing with us.

If a plantsim has a baby throw up on him, usually from the "toss in air" action, it waters him. So instead of it plunging the hygiene, which they don't have anyway, into the red it's actually a good thing. It waters them quite a bit too. Totally grossed me out when it happened though and now he keeps rolling wants to play with the baby.

If I didn't want to ruin my game, I'd make Dina and Nina have a tonne of babies just to see the genetics.
Back on track... I also discovered today that twins (maybe even just siblings) will show up to their twin sibling's house a few hours before they die...
I don't know if it was just a coincidence or not but Tilly Brown lived right up until her elder age bar was full and a few hours before she died, her twin sister Jane Thimble came over and they hung out for a while. And stayed around until after she died, and she'd never visited on her own will before.

I just found found out that an elder sim has options to encourage his/her spouse!
Pollination Tech#9 can encourage Jenny to be shy ("wife, you must not gossip with the neighbors so much"), neat ("wife, you must tidy up the house"), playful("wife, you must lighten up").
But an elder cannot "classice dance" with the adult spouse. The option is just not there and Pollination Tech#9 and Jenny always want to classic dance with each other!

Yes, it is possible to create a new neighborhood with Bluewater Village as your primary neighborhood.
Changing an existing neighborhood by swapping the primary neighborhood and a subhood? May be possible, but it would be some amount of work. You could always close and sell off all businesses, move all of your families to the sim bin, move all of your lots to the lot bin, use HoodReplace to make your primary neighborhood look like Bluewater Village, place the lots into your primary neighborhood, place the families back into their lots, have them buy back all of the businesses, ...
However, you shouldn't have to go through two loading screens. Just click on your hood and select Bluewater Village rather than the main hood.

You're right that's what I do, I guess I meant to word it as just being able to click on the first neighborhood picture instead of clicking on a subhood for it ...I just need to stop being lazy I guess. Plus knowing I have that neighborhood but not having anything on it bugs me and I much prefer Bluewater Village then to move all my sims to the 'main' neighborhood. :jest:

29th Feb 2012, 4:20 PM
Um - no. The bills are assessed by household, just like in the main hood. You don't get separate bills for each student in a residence or dorm, and anyone in the household can pay them. All grant money, cash made busking, etc., is accessible to anyone in the residence.

Um - no. The bills are assessed by household, just like in the main hood. You don't get separate bills for each student in a residence or dorm, and anyone in the household can pay them. All grant money, cash made busking, etc., is accessible to anyone in the residence.

One dorm building got billed and the sim I controlled even got a warning about not paying bills.
This dorm did not get any bills and the student graduated without a problem :) It was awesome!!! No other students or NPCs paid a bill either.

Whenever you move in a college townie/dormie, they graduate, but they don't get the extra want slots/locks.
I had Tybalt Capp (imagine that, actually playing with the Veronaville premades for once) get engaged to a college dormie, after he graduated he invited her over. Marriage wasn't an option, so I just had her move in, she aged up, then I got Tybalt married to her.
Then I just used the Batbox to "upgrade" her and give her the additional want slots and locks. She has a diploma and memories of completing each "year" of college.

If a sim who never went to college asks a dormie to move in, the dormie will not have a diploma or extra slots.
But if a dormie is asked to move in by a Uni grad, the dormie should get all the perks of having graduated as well, including those extra want/fear slots.
In other words, moved-in dormies' Uni status is supposed to mirror that of the sim that asked them to move in. Something wonky happened with your Tybalt/dormie situation.
Yay for the batbox!

I went back to a family (1 sim household) that had some out time. Everything did run as normal until a thunderstorm break lose. A stray dog did visit the lot and when a lightning hit a small lamppost he barked at it. When he run outside the lot and froze. The woman tried to make him leave but it did take half a day before it worked. It was kind of scary seing him just stand there and stare.
A few days later, the pinguine come to visit. But it was'nt winter, it was the last day of spring. The pinguine did not enter the lot, it stayed outside by the mailbox. Then it started to jump around and move in its specific way but not forth or backwards. It moved sideways (!). After a short time the pinguine left the lot area- Sideways. It looked so funny I had to laugh. I'm quite sure it was a glinch or something.
As a bonus, the sim did find some dead cockroaches on the road. Non of us (me or the sim) had seen them before so I'm quite unsure where they come from. Maybe they have been there a long time but the sim have no memorys of having roached before she find them.

I think the "Neighbor Watch Kids" coding just turns the neighbor into a nanny for awhile. You might do well to ask a playable neighbor with childrearing experience. Using the hack that lets you ask visitors to watch your kids for you in normal residences, I had Kitty Hawkins watching her grandchildren while her daughter had make-up woohoo with her husband, and she did a great job. To be fair, I made it easy for her - one was already potty-trained and the other had been taken care of before she arrived, so all she had to do was feed and play with them. Plus, Grandpa was there, too, and he'll do spontaneous walk-bys to take care of other people's toddlers.
Generally speaking, I think what sim kids really need is supervision by playables. Any sim you can't control is going to do stupid things occasionally, so you want to minimize the time they spend in charge.
I learned that if you don't have a downtown attached to your neighborhood, the 6PM post-date phone call is just a phone call that doesn't lead to a second date.

Suddenly I see a beautiful character arc laid out before him, as he goes to college, embraces his inner nerd, and learns to face his dad with his real self. :)

That would certainly fit in with what's in Tank's bio.

John Stacks called a townie teen he wanted to make friends with. Instead of the usual options I see when calling a playable - Invite Over, Invite Household, Just Talk, I got "Ask to be Houseguest (3 days)" and "Just Talk."
There's no room for an overnight guest in the Stacks house and it's just a townie, so I chose "Just Talk." Have I never seen that before because I hardly ever have people call townies?

Non-Knowledge sims don't always roll fears to turn into witches or warlocks, and if they do get turned, will not necessarily roll cure wants. I'm doing this experiment in a brand new hood with my first playable as a young adult in college. He befriended an elder good witch and soon asked her to teach him the ways of the light. Before that, almost immediately after he moved into the dorm, the Matchmaker delivered a lamp to him, so he first asked for wealth, which he got(though he still lives in the dorm), and then peace of mind, so he's permaplat. And he's a family sim who wants to raise lots of puppies or kittens - no secondary aspiration yet. He's a good warlock, and is busy studying the required skills and doing some witch skilling as well - while attempting to insult the evil cow mascot. He was also abducted by the Secret Society, and will likely use the rewards to build his skills even higher. His name is Matthew Decker, after a character from a Star Trek episode, but he looks nothing like the guy, and has long, bishi hair.

I also discovered that you can't empty the pottychair into the stall toilet.
So instead the downstairs bathroom in the old barracks where the Strangetown Newsons are squatting (Mom died in war-torn Simlakistan; Dad was struck by lightning at her funeral; they figure the Combined Services owe them a roof over their heads) has two cheap toilets divided by a cinderblock half-wall, which works much better.
Sunbee
16th Mar 2012, 3:24 PM
Personally, I'd say that's a point in favor of the stall toilet. I'm always canceling sims halfway through emptying so they can put it in the compost. Do your Newsons not garden lest someone at the grocery report them to Social Worker? (Luckily for Gavin, his OTH is nature.) I wonder how above my head it would be to change another toilet to work that way?
Peni Griffin

The Strangetown Newsons have only just moved in and haven't had a moment to breathe, much less put in a garden. I hadn't realized you could empty the pottychairs into the compost - in real life it's a bad idea (passes bacteria and parasites into the veggies. Don't empty the catbox there, either).

I recently discovered, that inviting a Vampire over in College is bad. I kid you not, this Vampire bit three of the Sims that were in College (There was four of them) Then when the Sim with the Fortune Aspiration called the "Match Maker" the Vampire bit her too. Then I had my Sims wanting to be bitten, and then they didn't want to be cured. And all I could think about was:

The important part is the second parameter: testingCheatsEnabled, snapObjectsToGrid, etc. So, which cheat are you having problems with?

That the education career isn't just a part-time job its a full-tier career with opportunities and everything... no real rewards or a LTW (which is sad because I rather like the career and it's a good alternative to the business or government career) but it's a career I've been using a lot more for my brainy/bookworm/collector sims as late :)

The LTW is "Become Education Minister" and the career reward is the bookcase that lets you read to skill in everything, not just cooking/cleaning/mechanical/the Life Skills - one of the favorite career rewards, as you'll see reading the thread dedicated to which ones people like best.

I also discovered that, like the nature lot, the arts hobby lot has a built-in routing problem. I took Leslie Gay there, and had to have her leave as soon as she could smooth talk Demi Louie into a date, because poor pregnant Sharla Iana was trapped behind one of the pottery wheels and throwing a continuous-loop routing fit. Not only is this annoying, Sharla is pregnant, and if I'd lingered she probably would be all bummed about having a public bladder accident next time I played her.
Really got to take time to edit those hobby lots...but the process looks so finicky and time-consuming...

They actually make good destinations for making connections, just as in real life - people who show up there don't have to be greeted and are already interested in at least one thing the active sim is. Unless somebody gets randomly positioned somewhere inconvenient, like poor Sharla. And there's this big berm in the nature lot that everybody throws routing fits about because they can't bring themselves to walk around it, and if somebody you want them to talk to happens to be on it you can forget about it.
I was referred to this MATY thread when I asked how to edit them. http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11323.0.html

I discovered that sims can see round corners.
Have you ever sent two sims off to honeymoon in Twikkii island? When they relax on the bed, ready to seal the bond, one of them will switch on the television. EA have decreed that the television can be switched on from the bed with a flick of a button, but to switch it off, a sim must get out of bed and walk round in front of the set. Tell her to switch it off, and while she is getting back to bed, he will switch it on again. You must put up with it prattling about the weather all the while they are consummating their love. Then, of course, they can't sleep, because the television is making too much noise.
In the Double Palm hotel, I chose the most expensive suite, $836 a night, because the television could not be seen from the bed. It was at right angles, with a sofa in front. It made no difference. The relaxers coould see round the corner, and were laughing merrily at the weather forecast while I was trying to start their married life.
Grr! I must remember, before the next honeymoon, to go to Twikkii and delete all television sets.

I discovered that sims can tell dirty jokes about other sims! Sara Starchild was telling one to her husband, and Mary Munny's face popped up. This makes sense, as she's well-known around town both for her music and for her dating habits.
It's possible this was glitching, as later in the same session Sara stopped being able to interact with other sims, so I've got to troubleshoot that lot now; but since the glitch doesn't have any obvious relation to the dirty joking, and it was so logical, I'm going to assume it's a feature not a bug.

So far, if you make a sim a witch or warlock early on, like as a young adult or teen, he or she will not have a problem with being magical or with turning other sims. Matthew Decker is family, with no knowledge as a secondary yet. Might change that. However, this neighbourhood is also very new and he was the first playable sim I made. That may have something to do with it. Going to see if this trend continues.

Actually for the personal trainer option you don't have to have FT. To have the option to be a personal trainer your Sim has to have a higher body skill than the Sim they want to train. I think that came with Uni as it's an option to earn extra money for Uni students and others of course.

Were you using Inteenimator or the Simblender? I recently switched from the Vidcund Boddlerizer to Simblender because I didn't want Vidcund to suddenly turn into a teen with an adult body shortly after he comes back pregnant and Pascal gives birth. Happened even in the Uber-Megahood. Besides, I have some other mods that would conflict with Inteen, but I would like to possibly have a pregnant young adult man - having him birth an alien would be hella funny(it happened before on a different installation), and I eventually decided to freeze the pregnancy until he moved out of college, so the evil social worker wouldn't take the kid away.

Sort of realistic. Common college kid stereotype is that they never sleep. Sim kids have a great chance of having their only class being in the afternoon/evening, which frees up their night to do anything. Their parents, however, have jobs to go to or other children to take care of in the am, requiring them to be asleep at a certain hour.

I've made at least one of my teen sims in the Uber-Megahood a Knowledge/romance... sort of a Captain Kirk-ish combination, don't you think? He's more of an artist though, so I figure he might never marry until later on in life, to a rich sim - if ever. Though he might change his aspiration later on and become a family man or the like. It'd be funny if he has a baby that's also the sister of his half-sister Olive Subject. Also, the son of Vidcund Curious and Nina Caliente is primarily Knowledge, and I might make him secondary romance because Esteban Caliente just looks so dashing. And yeah, I don't think he knows his daddy yet. Weird part is he was conceived while Vidcund was still heavily pregnant.
Have you had your witch sim try to turn her step-sister? Also, are the other two sims Knowledge sims? Funny thing is, Sandra Roth currently has no desire to be cured, though her mum might flip out. I wonder if Vidcund will... I mean, he does have a memory of wetting himself as a teen. Poor guy. And are you playing the megahood or the original Strangetown? Because the original has a lot of sims with missing or extra DNA coding. Vidcund is one of them, which may be the reason he turns into a tendault if Inteen is installed.

I play original Strangetown, not the Megahood. I'm tempted to send Vidcund to the same community lots to see if he would do the same thing... but I'm afraid that he would rather explode than enter a public restroom. (And I'm sure his pants-wetting incident as a teen is a source of much "remember when?" amusement for not only General Buzz, but for the Beakers as well. Poor guy used to date scary Circe Beaker, after all.)

Her dad is gonna be so down with it though - he'll probably WANT to become a warlock. Sandra actually rolls wants to cast spells and the like, but never any wants to be cured whenever I peek at her wants using the sim controller mod.

Nina Caliente...Has a crush on one of my Sims...Not getting into that story, yeah, no.
The one Sim that does NOT want to be a Witch is the Sim that has Fortune Aspiration. She wants everyone to be cured. And the Sim that is a witch, didn't change any of her sisters. Because they were busy playing Computer Games -.-" And blogging, and watching TV. The only productive Sim there is, Jasmyne. It's rather sad -.-" Go Jasmyne.
I should have known this, BUT, I discovered that Butlers will allow anyone in that rings the doorbell, well, except the ones that are just dropping things off. But I ended up having a full house last night, with teens and adults. The Smiths, all they were doing was flirting and making out. And Olive was trying to start a fight with Ashley (I made a new family) lol. So..I may need to have a little talk with the Butler -.-"

You mean that extremely neat sims will disobey you when you direct them to use public toilets? Wow. And Circe is quite easy to get along with, if you're talking about what she's interested in. She can be quite a good friend and a decent mother, and besides that, she and Loki mean the world to each other, and both of them love their kids. And pregnant Loki(who gave birth to a normal-browed Persephone) looked adorable - especially when fighting with burglars thanks to the anyone-can-savage-burglars mod.

You should totally have her turn them anyway - then they could re-energize in the throne of light, and then do all the skilling and other cool stuffz. But oh man I wish there was a way to block any wants to be cured or have someone else be cured of witchiness, or for that matter, most other paranormal states. And possibly a block for a non-knowledge vampire's fears of biting sims.

Is this why my uni kids are hardly ever tired unless I make them work out ? It'll be like eleven o clock and their bar is barely at the middle, its very annoying!

You obviously aren't working them hard enough! Date them relentlessly, send them to community lots, send them gardening and swimming and skating and hiking and jogging - jogging's a surefire energy drain. Let them make the most of their college years!

I discovered that when shy Sims dance to music, they don't really get as "into it" as outgoing Sims do. Their movements are very stiff, and they look down at the floor with a worried/embarrassed expression on their face. Sometimes they'll break out into a "normal" Sim's dance afterwards, but then they go back to dancing all strangely again. *shrugs*

I discovered that the Apartment Life disc I was using Monday night last thing before the hard drive crashed is now damaged to where the machine doesn't recognize it.
Excuse me a moment.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I don't like ordering from Amazon, but I did. And I also ordered a NEW Mansion and Garden, so that at least next time I have to replace a disk it won't be AL, which I've already had to replace once. And I'm hoping that a new disk will last longer than one that was treated heaven-knows-how before I got it.
It wouldn't be so bad, doing without the game, if I were able to do anything else. It's great gardening weather, but bending over makes my head fall off. It's a lot easier to mellow out about that if I can make my sims garden, you know?
Technology's great when it works. The rest of the time, it sucks dead bears.

Nah, I was just making a joke :) Vidcund's been just fine as a walk-on on those same community lots and as an active visitor. I just never paid attention before; Sputnik's cleaning routine was what caught my notice.
And Circe and Loki are among my favorite sims! :D They're hilarious, aggressively loyal to each other (woe be to stupid social townies that try and set them up on blind dates), and they were very sweet to their sons when they were little...as long as the other wasn't there to see it happen. They both have several friends (and Vidcund and Loki are best friends) and are autonomously nice to their current lab rat Guinea Pig. I really could go on and on about them; they're great.

Unfortunately many of the paranormal wants are effectively unmoddable. Some wants simply can't be modded the normal way, by putting files in Downloads. The only way to change them is to take a chainsaw to core game files. I'll do that to my game but it's not something I'll distribute to other people.

I recently learned, when I was playing last night. Sims can be together in the bathroom if they're both highly outgoing (the kind who strip out of their clothes and jump in the hot tub) or if they have very high relationships. My married couples do it all the time, even ones where both of them are two-points shy.

Married couples also have to be friends. When the Pleasants were on the outs Mary Sue wouldn't go in the bathroom while Daniel was in there. Your sim can actually become best friends with the danged cow mascot if there's a card table in the dorm or on the lot. That way, the two sims can socialize with a minimum of unpleasant interactions. It'd be funny to make the evil mascot playable and have him live alone or at least have a card table to keep him or her occupied. Also, it would be quite funny to have someone encourage the cow mascot to be sweet as pie. Wonder what would happen then lol.

But still, that Cow Mascot...is ugh! Its like you just want to make her cook or something, then watch her burn. !_! I know, morbid. But my goodness. Starting fights with my Sims, I keep bad mouthing her. So everyone in the house hates her. MUAHAHAH. But I decided the wise thing to do is, lock the door, and let only the household in. And the maid can come in still, so, at least my place will be clean.
But I swear I want to invite her over, and just attack! ATTACK! Okay I am good, LMAO xD But yeahhhh I think the Cow Mascot is bi. He or she flirts with both sexes. And they tend to ruin lives.

There are two cow mascots, male and female. At Sim State, the female one, Katelynn, hangs around the sorority and the male one, Trevor, hangs around the frat. (All my other residences lock them out, and I haven't run a dorm in awhile.) They will flirt with anyone a playable on the lot has a particularly high relationship score with. This can have three results:
Partner accepts flirt (yes, this happens!). Playable sees, is furious, much drama. Both parties get cheating memory; if couple is engaged, guilty party also gets "Had an affair" memory.
Partner refuses flirt. Playable is furious anyway, much drama. Both parties get cheating memory, but innocent partner does not get "had an affair" memory.
Partner refuses flirt. Playable is furious WITH THE COW MASCOT! Far less drama. Both parties get cheating memory, but relationship barely takes a dip and all is well in no time.
The last scenario has happened twice in my game - the first time, Harris Hawkins, 10 points nice, started slapping the crap out of whichever mascot it was that had hit on his girlfriend, who was crying. Second time, his little sister Pigeon - only three nice points - caught Katelynn trying to move on her fiance, and I only knew about it from the memories. She and her Ezekial were 100/100 and if Katelyn had dared to show her face Pigeon would have caved it in for her. I don't know if, mechanically, her relationship with Harris (her favorite brother) had a hand in it, or what, but it was delightful.
Feeding the cow mascot to the cow plant is at best a temporary measure, as the game will generate new ones; ditto the regular pep squad. Keeping the batbox on hand so you can smite the thing when you're really fed up with it is more satisfactory, as if you smite them hard enough (it might take two tries) they'll run off with a red toilet thought bubble and never bother your sims.
The relationships don't have to be ruined - it is my own contention that if your relationship can be broken up by the stupid cow mascot, it should be! Couples counseling and constant throwing them together and influencing them to talk to each other fix things right up, if they're really serious. It's frustrating when it happens at an outgoing sim's graduation party, though.
Weird but true: During my experimental phase, the first sim I ever ran through University was Stella Terrano, and the only person I could find on campus that had lightning with her was a cow mascot! But I was only playing the one household, out of the dorm, since I didn't know any better and was only experimenting anyway.
ETA: Oh, and I've tried, but I've never been able to raise the option to attack the cow mascot. Heaven knows why. The pep squad, however, can attack them. Many a Greek gathering has been much enlivened by a llama or a cheerleader kicking the cow mascot's butt.

You forgot the fourth option:
Partner accepts flirt. Playable sees, is furious. Playable's visiting father also sees flirt, gets furious, slaps the crap out of the cheater for breaking the playable's heart, then shows up every hour or so to stand outside the building and scowl. Trying to get the playable's brother to use Couples Counseling to get the cheater and the playable -- who have been wandering around the house, sadly heartfarting in each other's direction -- back together results in the brother pointing to himself and looking horrified at the suggestion before trudging over to attempt the feat.
It was pretty epic. Stupid sexy cow

My sister once actually got her sim to fight the cow, and won. I think she may have cheated to achieve thsi though. When cheerleaders or cows annoy her, she tends to cheat the relationship (and offending party's body skill) down and have her sim fight them. It makes her happy.

I believe they're from a rival school and are deliberately being pains in the butt any way they can. Don't give up on Cara - it only takes about a semester to make up if they see each other constantly. Less, if someone who's friends with both has couples' counseling. A lot of Luis and Sharla's making up was accomplished when Sharla's future sister-in-law, who was friends with Luis but not with her, ran out to greet her on a walk-by, called Luis to come over, influenced him to talk to her, and then threw her graduation party. The two of them stood outside as the snow piled up to their knees, talking it out while the party raged inside. It was very touching, and contributed to the party score, too.

No, those were part of a "Starter Pack" for a version of Bodyshop that was released before TS2 was released. I haven't given up on Cara. But the sad part is...Its like..Almost the end of the Semester for Cara, and Marcel has now become a Sophomore -.-" But yeah, the Cow needs to be slaughtered. I love when the Cheerleader kicks the Cow's butt. So, would that mean this...The cheerleader in black is from Cow Hell? And the girl in blue is cheering for the Llama?
I learned that really sloppy sims will eat out of the trash can. =/
So that is the cow was rummaging through my garbage can. ALL MAKES SENSE NOW

You know that all premade non sub-neighborhoods have a neighborhood flythrough camera, a camera that drifts throughout the neighborhood to show you around it. I discovered that creating a custom neighborhood and naming it "Sedona", "Europa", or "Lakeview" will make a flythrough camera for the neighborhood! However, some terrains don't suit the camera, so it might not work. For the best example, use Sedona template and name it Sedona, and check it out!

The cow tends to be low on neat points (the digging through trash and leaving puddles everywhere when he or she showers (I saw male and females when I could play Sims 2) and nice points which is why they are such an annoyance.
Some people go the bloody route and use mods to kill the cow, I used TwoJeffs' Trophy Head which usually scared them away: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=7.0

I thought that might be it when I first started figuring it out, but then the cheerleader who I first saw in black showed up in blue while the cheerleader in blue showed up in black, so there are no Evil Cheerleaders, only Evil Mascots. The cheerleaders and llamas would seem to constitute the local pep squad, and are only incidentally annoying. (Very enthusiastic about people gaining sexual experience, too.) Presumably the school with the cow team has an ordinary pep squad, too, and the cow mascots are members who are so obnoxious they are constantly encouraged to go harass rival schools.
Which might mean there's an alternate-universe sim college with good cow mascots and evil llamas! Wrap your head around that one, if you like.

I learned that born in game sims sometimes have more personality points than CAS-sims. I guess they really do get a mix of their parents' personalities as well. I love the genetics in this game.

Yup. Nervous Subject had a sweet little angel, Olive, who is extremely neat and stuff, possibly from his side, but also incredibly nice and playful - so playful she couldn't meditate I think, though I could be wrong. Also, Persephone Beaker has her father's seriousness and neatness, and possibly his athletic inclination, but she's also very nice, though probably extremely shy as well.
As for Juno... she isn't the nicest sim in the family, but she does have three nice points. That's not too shabby for someone with two extremely grouchy parents. And Thor? He's probably gonna be another sweetheart.

*eye twitches then head explodes*
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, it can't be true! NOOO WAY! >.< Ahem, I am good now. I'll stick with the evil Cow Mascots, and watch cheerleaders beat on him or her :D It's funny. But not funny, when your lover catches "cheating" and she or he is slapping the evil Mascot, and then the Cow Mascot never leaves..Keeps showing up on your property, and yeah, that's not fun

I never played much with plantsims so after years of playing the sims, I just learned that plantsim babies are born knowing how to walk & talk !

I discovered that it is not a safe idea to bow down to your sim's wish to flirt with her boyfriend his boss is around; they both have the same hairstyle and I accidently clicked on the wrong one, now boyfriend is mad...

Scroll down to ffsdebugger.zip. Unzip, place in downloads. Buy little black box with Batman symbol on it (found in Misc/Misc). Watch for cow mascot to enter lot. Before mascot can enter house, click box, choose SMITE!!
Experience satisfaction. Repeat as needed. The batbox has lots of useful functions (if you don't understand them, don't click them! Come here and ask what they mean.) It can prevent clones within a family, for example; fix some basic glitches, and perform routine neighborhood maintenance. But cow mascot smiting, while not essential to game enjoyment, is excellent fun.
I'm experiencing the Download Fugue State. It's hard to find all the stuff you've gotten used to again! And harder to hunt for it without downloading New Stuff. I'll have to make a "CC I don't want to live without" zip file and do triple redundant backups like I do with my most important real life files, once we get our computer back up to snuff.

It probably has been mentioned in some form already, but just a few minutes ago one of my Sim women had triplets o.O
I didn't use any hacks or tricks like the cheesecake. It was like single births too, like, she continuously went into labour.
Their house is tiiiny and I'm not sure what to think of this XD
Oh man I'm completely baffled
