I discovered my mailboxes are messed up, I can use all the "Boolprop TestingCheatsEnabled" by just clickming on them (as oposed to right clicking), and I get error messages each time I get "special" mail from date or outing rewards.

So now I am looking at the second reinstal in a weeks time :D Hope it fixes itself with that...

You probably downloaded the 'mailbox hack'.
So reinstall will only help if you get rid of that hack. And if you get rid of that hack, you don't have to reinstall. ALso, make sure you don't have a userstartup.cheat where the boolProp cheat is enabled by default.

Nope, don't have the mailbox hack, it's likely because I used testing cheats a lot. Never had problems with it on previous install, but hey I knew there was a chance of it screwing with my game.

Oh, gosh. I LOVE the diaries. I wish I still had the pictures from my Kingdom Hearts Asylum Challenge-- one of the guys sat contentedly in a room with all three girls nearby, writing in his diary... and the second another guy walked through en route to the bathroom, he was all "OH NO DON'T LOOK :argh: ". It was SO ADORABLE.

I discovered that sims can become furious at eachother for being messy. :wow

I was playing a dorm earlier, and Cleanfreaksim(tm) takes a shower and starts cleaning it afterwards. Messysim(c) walks in and start taking a shower, splatering water al over the floor. Cleanfreaksim then starts to mop up the water while Messysim, oblivious to what's going on washes on in his merry way. And then Cleanfreaksim gets furious with Messysim, the more he has to mop up, the more their relationship score drops!

They were around +15/15 before the incident and from Cleanfreaksim's point of view it dropped to -31/31.
By the next day they were -45/45 at eachother :D

I was lucky to spot it just in time as I was scrolling by (keeping taps on what's going on in a dorm with 7 sims is hard work) and to have the view set to relationships, otherwise I'd never known what happened :wtf:

nirvana, sprinklers are a life saver for fires..they're with the phones and such in buy mode i believe. i haven't lost a stove or counter since i started using them :)

two things from me today;
i discovered that i am completely unable to remember if i deleted a hack before installing a new one(insim 2.4 and 2.6 sitting right next to each other in my folder..i coulda swore i deleted the old one)

and....if its winter when your sim arrives on the lot (moves in) they will of course go to the outdoor activity that is all the way across the yard without thier winter coat (they arrive in 'everyday' like always) then stand there shivering....just go inside you dope!

It depends on the sim's personality and the interaction. I have one very shy sim who gives a "who-Me?" look every time I tell her to make out with her husband, even though she had a want for it. But she LOVES to hug- squeeze.

I recently discovered that the Maxis hottub gives a hygiene boost. I had a custom one (from somewhere) that seemed to give a larger boost, but I saw very little difference between that one and the Maxis version in terms of coding. Also, not only can Sims move left and right around the hottub, they can also move diagonally across the hottub to the opposite corner as well.

I had something weird happen today. I grew a toddler, Georgia (from my story), up to a child with InSIM, and all was good. She went to school then came back and did her homework. But when she'd finished, she got stuck sitting on the floor. She could move her head, but nothing else. So I deleted her, saved, exited, and went back in. But in the little family picture, her teenage sister was holding her as if she was a toddler. (I got a picture but shut down the computer without saving it... gah). Back in-game she was sitting by the mailbox instead of standing. I clicked the ground and it said 'crawl here' instead of 'go here'. She'd turned into a toddler, but still looked like a child... twas very weird. So I just grew her into a child again, from InSIM, and she worked fine...

my game hates death and ressurection. one of the Hilbert twins died as a child (okay fine, i made him) and though the tombstone was in the front yard, when i tried to resurrect him, it said "Paxton's been resurrected on another lot" and took the tombstone away...now i have to find the brat and move him back home with his family so his brother can finally kick his tombstone. sibling rivalry at its best, ladies and gents :)

Flowers die if they're watered too much. Today I had my sim water flowers, and they where changing as they where being watered, So I thought "HMM. THEY MUST BE REALLY DRIED OUT. I discovered that buying a new PC can alter your whole Sims Experience!

Goit my new PC yesterday, after most of the mundane task of tranferring files and hunting down utileties and programs that you use more htemn the useless yunk that comes pre-instaled on the new system, it was time to instal Sims 2.

Oooooh boy what a difference :D Load times are under a minute, I can zoom around the lot instantly witout a hitch and I bubmped up the setings to highest.

The only slowdown I noticed was after I activated boolprop Useshaders, every time a sims or a car enters the lot it stops for a nano second :)

Of course... I've got my work cut-out for me though, after testing setings in pleasantview I started a brand new neighborhood, empty Downtown area, empty shopping hod, empty college :) Next weeks I'll be building building building :D

EDIT: nah not going to bother correcting those typos, I'm typing this on the old PC with my keyboard on my lap while Sims is running on my new system :P

Today i discovered how fast university goes for the timer to get out when you go downtown and just keep doing maxmotives and play drums till its time for class . My sim spent the whole uni experience at the coffeeshop lol i flew outta there fast!.Made $10 grand sitting on the drums!!.Sadly when i moved out the money didnt carry over GRR!!. Also i learnt that in the grad movie the sim graduating always goes and puts there arms on the nearest male sim. At least in my game for the 3 grad movies i seen they have. I always buy stuff for the money they've got and put it in their inventory before they move out of uni. That way I can either have some good, expensive items to decorate their new homes with, or I can move them into an empty lot, sell all the stuff, and then move them into a more expensive home.

So, I have a sim that had a lifetime want of raising 20 puppies/kittens. So I figured I'd try for it. After raising one batch of kittens the normal, real way - helping them build skills, build relationships...etc, they finally grew up. But, then I had to give them up for adoption as to make room for the next litter. And well, I learned that when playing that way it's extremely hard for me to give up the kitties.... I get terribly attached. So, I resorted to using inSim for the rest of em. Haha.

They always say "Please Spade Or Neuture" So thats what im doing. I discovered today that when you move a family out for uni that there objects in the house DO not get sold and get left behind for the next family to move in that house. Lucky its relatives moving in next lol(its like "thank you Auntie for leaving all your stuff").Also i discovered how ANNOYING the Datable Diva is my guy made best friends with her just by sitting in a hottub downtown with her. That I have comparatively few problems with the screaming baby "glitch" a lot of people got with Seasons. My sim family's grown-ups pretty much just pass the baby around as soon as it's born, taking turns cuddling and talking to it, put it to bed, feed and change when it needs it, and cuddle it whenever they have a spare moment, and the baby kinda just sits there for the rest of its babyhood like it would've before I installed Seasons. No complaints, no nothing, even from active or playful babies.

Of course, they don't seem to sleep ever, but that's another story.

Something very strange happened in my game today!
I was trying to get my sim to catch his fiancee cheating (I know, I'm horrible! :D) so I had him run into his bedroom, where the sims fiancee and best friend were Woohooing.
He cheered them on. He clapped, he pumped his fist. He then swooned over his fiancee before going to use the toilet.
Determined to break this sims heart, I tried getting fiancee and best friend to go on a date at home. They were sitting on the couch playing SSX on their date when the main sim walked in. He started sobbing and attacked the best friend and sent him on his way, then slapped his fiancee.

A sim who got told to go sleep in pajamas because he was about to collapse from exhaustion, but who got interrupted because his kid was climbing the stairs too, decided to go relax next to his wife instead of sleep. There's a painting that came with Seasons, the water in it is animated. Freaked me out at first.

Also, thanks to my new graphics card, I only just noticed a grey curtain that came with the base game - if you zoom in real close, you can see a pattern of ones and zeros on it. How nerdy!

Today was a good day for discoveries. :D

Is it because the tree was hit by lightning in a rainstorm, and the rain put the fire out before she got there?

You get fined for that, too.

I've never been able to put a gate in a half-wall. I end up just leaving a vacant space.

Hm. I wonder if you could put one section of fence in the wall, then put a gate in the fence section? I'll try it later and see if it works.

And today, I saw a kid scuff her shoes on the rug and then give her dad a static electric shock; cute. I hadn't seen that before since I usually don't bother with rugs.

Ha, I just saw something just now that I've never seen before.

One of my families consists of a mom, dad, and two children. Well, when everyone woke up, the father and mother were the only ones that were hungry, so I told the father to serve pancakes, but I would only have the parents eat. At about 10:30 (it was a Saturday), I figured that no one was going to eat the rest of the food so I told the father to clean it all up. Well, all of a sudden the little boy who I had no idea was hungry dropped everything that he was doing (he was playing a video game that I told him to play, meaning that he usually wouldn't stop unless I told him to), ran to the kitchen table and started eating a plate of pancakes before the dad could clean them up. That was adorable. It could've been a coincidence, but since the kid was running and he only has one active point, I think that he was trying to grab food before it got cleaned up. :)

1. Pregnant women who are randomly selected as group members of one of those "do you want to go downtown?" outings WILL autonomously eat cheesecake.

2. Cheesecake DOES affect a pregnant townie.

3. Moving 4 pregnant women into the same house together does not prevent twins, even if you DON'T have the lot full of sims hack or Pets. (And it looks pretty silly when an extremely pregnant Diva is primping.)

4. 7 babies being born to 4 women at the same time all over a 2 story house leaves the camera at a very strange angle after it finishes zooming in on all of them.

5. The simlogical reservable cribs are very handy for determining which babies have been dropped outside somewhere.

6. Family sims are quite happy to potty train another woman's child. But the two fortune sims don't want anything to do with their kids. They would rather buy sculptures and flowerbeds.

7. A romance sim who had a fear of having a baby when he was last played will take a big aspiration hit from having 7 babies born at the same time, even if he was on another lot while the births occurred.

8. Even a knowledge sim can develop a want to have 10 grandchildren if she gets 7 grandkids all at once. (There are 3 more pregnant townies, so that will happen as soon as I get some of this crowd cleaned out of my unwed mothers home so the new group can move in. Although I'm not sure whether my pregnant Grand Vampiress will get to join the crowd or not. It depends on whether or not either of the other two have twins. Grand Vampires need too much micromanaging to prevent them from biting everyone they meet.)

talking to the plants (harvestable ones) will make the price higher when you sell it, if the crops are inside a green house you don't have to spray them.

If you want to become plant people, you have to plant the trees outside of the green house so that you get to spray alot!

using the custom roof tools (the one where we have to click, drag, release) will give you much better looking roof then with the automatic ones. long lived roofslopeangle 15

this is probably a glitch, as i have not use the lock aspiration cheats (yet) sims' aspiration can get stuck (which is good :P) Gabe (one of maxis pre-made sims), he reached the highest aspiration one day and has the highest influence bar as well, that was 3 days (sims day) ago, and the bar is still full when I visit his lot, the whole time I was playing that household, even when he achieved new wants the aspiration bar did not change one bit.

fishing is addictive! there were 6 sims visitors on one of my sims lot and they just won't leave, its like the poker table, they didn't leave when it rains! I try to say goodbye to everyone, but failed, they finally left when it snow for the second day, yes one of them were there for about 4 sims day, the rest join in later .... sigh.... sims! By the way, great way to make friends bar go up if you fish together with only one other sims.

:o dog only has one toy (the chewing one) .... how terrible! (am i right? or there are other, do tell me, maxis one)

if the temperature of your sims is half on the bar, he will freeze and fell to the ground after making 3 snow angels, dipping in the hot tub (make the temperature bar red) before making snow angel is a good idea if you don't want them to freeze. they will recover the next day when the sun comes out if that is the only sims on the lot, other wise another sims can go warm them up. (pretty neat I think)

exercising too long (with cheat, off course) on the thread mill will cause the machine to catch fire and subsequently burnt the sims on it to death. Was trying to make the sims gain body points from 0 to max :P nearly kill her, the father successfully beg death to let the daughter live.

There is a function of the Insiminator which will do that. Or you can get a teleporter shrub from the Simlogical archives which will do that. (Make sure you get the right one. There is another one which summons groups of people to your lot, which is handy for a business.) Or a thing from DMA which looks like a yellow burglar alarm and will allow you to invite a sim as if calling them on a phone, but with no chance of being rejected.

If you go into CAS, and create a family with two elders, you can't give them children.

If you age them down to adults, give them a child, age the child up to a teen, and age the adults back to elders, you can't make the teen their child, even though it's their genetic spawn.

Wow, WTG, EA.
You can't make adults children of other adults, either. It's kind of annoying.

Today I discovered I couldn't make a recognizable grandchild in CAS. Made Grannie Mae, then made Polly (the teen) and that was going to be the household, but then I couldn't make them any more than roomies. So then I made Peter, who became the son of Grannie and the father of Polly and then in the game Polly isn't recognized as a grandchild - one of the first wants for Grannie was to have grandchildren.

Next time try this: First slide the teen onto the picture of the father. Then slide the picture of the father onto the picture of the grandmother. That should sort out the relationships.

(If you are comfortable with SimPe you can edit family relationships with it for this family. But it isn't ready for seasons yet.)

Discovered that a teenager whose aspiration meter has gone deeply red (she set her dinner on fire, for -2000 aspiration points) will throw REALLY friggin' annoying temper tantrums. And I am not buying her a $2000 telescope just to make her feel better, they can't afford it.

Also discovered that my family sim who just had a baby is walking around all the time thinking about adopting a baby--even though that's never rolled as a want for her.

Ghost sdoj

Maybe she is thinking that she would like someone to adopt HER baby? Or the pregnancy was tough enough that she is thinking "Next time we have a baby, we are adopting!"?

I had a sim who turned out to be pregnant with twins and in a house with 3 other pregnant women constantly going around with the adoption thought bubble. Of course her thought bubbles NOW are usually due to a motive distress because she is the only family sim in the group so she ends up taking care of the toddlers most of the time.

Maybe he wants to change aspiration to family? My pleasure sims think about dates and woohoo. (and the grand vampire adds biting people into the mix. To start, I made a family (Mom/Dad/had babies), but the whole time Mom was being a complete brat, and not from pregnancy. She won't watch TV, read a book, play the piano, or train the children for more than 30 seconds. I'm like, what's up with this beaaatch?! She whines at everything! Then I remembered...I had set her to 'exhibit extreme feminine behavior'. Haha, InSim is such a scamp for that.

Also I had set a woman to be manly, and she came over for coffee (I hadn't played her lot yet) her voice was all butchy and low pitched, and all she wanted to do was play punch you-punch me or turn sports on the TV. ehehehe....
