Why did you two decide to get married? Lord Wellington of *shire and sir Lucas White have been good neighbors for ages and the decision of marrying the heirs came without them really knowing it. Their wives seemed to agree with the wedding, so it was decided.

Sir White invinted some musicians to play at their first meeting. It was a fun for young Lucille, who loves dancing. They got along good enough, but John couldn't resist noticing how young, childish and "fluffy" his new fiancee is. As for Lucille, the meeting was a lot of fun, even if John made her nervous with the serious appearance he made. She was just a puppet in his hands.

Here are my girls getting ready! The store had just received our dresses and this was our initial fitting. The one on the far left is my younger sister, Xia. She's my maid of honor. She was studying abroad in Tokyo and came back with bleach blonde hair. I think it suits her ;) Next is one of my best friends, Zoe. She went to University with me. Next to Zoe is my older sister, Mei. She lives in Tacoma with her family...which brings me to her adorable daughter and my flower girl, Devon, who just turned 8. Last is my other best friend and soon to be sister-in-law, Evie. She was in my sorority and the one who introduced me to Zoe. I think the dresses made the girls look fantastic!

Zani sent me to this trendy suit shop to pick up and try on our suits. They're located close to the campus and are known for their younger, more modern suits and tuxes. She couldn't come since she had to work, so she forced me to bring a camera. Here's the photo I showed her. On the far left is the ring bearer and my nephew, Jordin. He'll be 10 in December. Next to him is Dylan. We grew up together back in Boston. My brother, Gabe, is standing next to him. He's Jordin's dad. Gabe married Zani's friend Evie. He's going to be my best man. On the other side of Gabe is Ben. Ben is another friend that grew up with us in Boston. Last is Jake. We've worked at a few jobs together. I don't really get why she needs to see how my mates look, but whatever, must be a girl thing...

Laurie: Here are my beautiful bridesmaids – don’t they look stunning?! Firstly we have Harley, my best friend from my University days. Harley is an absolute wild child – we got into a lot of sticky situations together!! Next we have Claudia, Matteo’s 18 year old sister. Claudia is bit of spoiled princess but an absolute sweetheart underneath. Next is Luc, my oldest friend from school- or Romeo as we like to call him due to his success with women!! We then have Rob, he is a good friend from my modelling days; we lived in Japan together for 6 months – ahh the stories Rob could tell you, but hopefully he won’t!!

Harriet: We chose to take the photographs in the same woods we intend to hold the wedding in, first to be photographed were my bridesmaids and our lovely flowergirl. Stood at the back is my head bridesmaid Tracy, she is absolutely stunning in that dress and has been my best friend for years so she was a natural choice. Plus she has such an amazing personality that she will be perfect for the job. Sat to the left (and facing the wrong way, sillyness must be a family trait) is my sister Jenny, I only have one sister and she means the world to me, I would not dream of not including her in my big day. The other bridesmaid is Sara, she has been my friend for years. She recentely moved to London but I just could not bear not having her there. Our lovely flower girl Hannah is the daughter of Sara, she is very excited and doesn't she just look adorable in that little dress?

The Bridesmaids

My besties! I wouldn't have any other person then Verity as my maid of honour, we've been friends for as long I can remember. And my cheif bridesmaids: Solene I met in high school and we've managed to stay really tight friends even though she lives abroad now and Saskia, I met in uni. We've definitely had a rocky friendship but we've had a lot of laughs too.

A lot of people question our reasons for getting married, telling us we haven't put any real thought into it. We're determined to prove them wrong and let me tell you it takes dedication to endure all those bridal shops... Nothing wowed me, so Saskia who is a designer by profession decided she'd make them as well as the tuxes (why she didn't offer to begin with I don't know....). This a pic of them after their final fitting.
The veils and the wands aren't exactly traditional but they're cute and who needs tradition when you can have originality?

It was pretty hard picking my bestman as I've had the same 3 best mates since I was about 9... We decided in the very mature way that we'd decide by a burping contest in which Xander triumphed. My mum said I had to let my little brother be part of the wedding despite both of our protests....

I can't agree with that! I'm sure you know that in 11th century 17 years was old for a girl to get married and they were practical adults since when they were, I don't know, 15? And in my game Lucille IS an adult, I just added the age for more realism, I didn't know 18 was the line for adults...

Most people don't find it on their first try, so you may have to experiment!

Laurie: Finding the perfect was a such a chore! Me and my 'maids went to about 10 different bridal boutiques, and I think I tried on a gazillion dresses - some beautiful, some absolutely vile! I wanted a dress that was perfect and it was important to me to find it for my perfect wedding day!

The first dress I tried was see-through!! It was beautiful antique lace in a lovely blush colour, but OMG you could see my knickers through it! The second was a white silky short number, too much leg on show...third I tried on a very beautiful sequined gown but with a very low front and cut all the way to my butt at the back - too sexy for a church! The fourth dress had me and my bridesmaids in stitches! Talk about meringue!! The fifth dress, was by one of my haute couture fashion designer friends- I had to let him down very gently as I wanted something more conventional!!

I was so tired by this point and getting quite upset. I just wanted to find "the dress" and thats when I spotted it...

Laurie: Our chosen venue for the wedding breakfast and evening reception was a beautiful ballroom - it was elegant, modern and spacious, exactly what we wanted!

Matt: There is a fantastic dance floor, with state of theart equipment and a canopyed area to store all the present and gifts. Can't wait to throw some shapes on it!

The Venue

We held the reception in Southern California (since it's a bit chillier on Halloween in Seattle.) It was right down on the beach from the park that we held the wedding service. We kept the halloween theme by setting up decorations (as well as including a few dance platforms for the crazy girls who keep their heels on ;) since sand isn't the best) by the dancing area. But, I wanted to keep the dining area romantic feeling. We set up this bamboo canopy area so we could view the stars during dinner, but added curtains to create a little more privacy. We even added a tire swing so the kids wouldn't get too bored. It turned out better than I imagined!

I always remember hearing about the annual "Running of the Brides" where thousands of designer wedding gowns go on sale for hundreds less. I fought the crowds, but it was such a disappointment. All the dresses started looking the same. I wanted to feel a little more special on my special day.

Since the running of the brides was a bust, I went to Plan B. My mother had been begging me to give my cousin, the aspiring fashion designer, a call to take a look at some of her work. Oddly, it wasn't that bad. I saw the sketch of the orange and pink dress on her wall, and thought with a little modification, it might be perfect. She did an amazing job with it. The dress just made me want to twirl around in it...and I don't think that had to do with the few glasses of wine we were drinking during the fitting. It still needs a little work, so she snapped this photo of me so I could take it to show my sisters and mom.

Part One: The Venue


Keeyla - I remember the first time I saw "The Secret Garden", Elliot and I were driving back early one Sunday evening from a barbecue at a friends new house when Elliot took a wrong turn...

Elliot - *laughs* You mean you were holding the map upside down!
We ended up driving down this really long and winding lane for miles as there was no-where to turn around.

Keeyla - then we saw a gateway with a sign to an old tea rooms were we could turn the car round and as we pulled into it, it took my breath away. We got out the car to have a closer look just as the sun was beginning to set and I can remember saying to Elliot "this is it"

Elliot - We had to pull some strings, purse strings mainly! but eventually we talked the owner round into letting us hold our wedding here.

Keeyla - I'm in love with the place, it's so peaceful. I wonder if the owner would ever sell it?

Elliot - - Only if he'll take payment in buttons, this wedding is costing us a fortune!... but you're worth it

Okay, I'm confused. For part one, the rules call for 3 pictures, and for part two, it calls for 2 pictures, with one of them being the bride trying on a dress she doesn't like - a, implying singular. However, looking at some of the entries, these guidelines have clearly not been followed. Even though it can be argued that collage-type photos are "one picture," they enable more to be shown than in what would typically be called a single shot, and it would seem to me that one would have a distinct advantage over the other. Can we get clarification on the rules, please? :)

We wanted an outside reception near the ocean. I thought this place was beautiful. Inside is the entryway, bathrooms, and upstairs is a bridal suite (where me and my bridesmaids go and freshen up)

THE DRESSES

my mother took me shopping to find the "perfect dress". to my surprise she was quite critical. she wants me to look beautiful and special. The first couple i tried on didnt really seem like "wedding dresses" then i tried on the last one, it made me feel like i was in a fairytale. It was poofed and it was a tube top (which i wanted in the first place) and it was white, which for me was a must! so i had to have it:)

For the venue, we went with our theme colour of red, and we were sort of going for a spring theme as well hence the garden in which it is held.

I loved the aisle from the moment i saw it, the little gazebo like thing is where we'll be getting married. I just love how peaceful and serene it all is, and the little pond and mini waterfall next to the gazebo are just blissful

The dining is outside to keep with the outdoorsy nature of the whole wedding. We really hope that it doesn't rain that day, but if it does we do have a backup plan in place. The dancing floor i think is pretty big and we are having a DJ in, so we hope to have a pretty good time.

The Dress

So, i had gotten enough money saved up for me to go buy my wedding dress. Let me just say that i have been planning my wedding since i was 8 years old. I was going to go for a big fairytale wedding with all the works, but when the time came for me to actually plan it, i discovered that all i wanted was a simple, elegant wedding since i was getting joined to the love of my life and not the ceremony which would be over in a matter of hours.

This first dress, while it would be pretty nice for a dinner date or something, was just way too out there for me, and just was not my style. The cleavage alone would give my family a heart attack, so i decided against it no matter how much Eric wanted me to get it, lol.

This was the... i dunno, 20th dress??. I lost count after the sixth and it was such a relief to find it. It was perfect, it was classy elegant and just the right fit. The only downfalls was the fact that the colour was slightly off and the price was slightly more than i had budgeted before. But, anyway i decided to get it because you only get your dream wedding once anyway and i could probably get the hem shortened after the wedding and turn it into an evening gown.

Acknowledged. :) Just wanted to make sure I understood the directions. As a host in the past, I've eliminated people who don't follow the rules to a T, so yeah, pretty hardcore on that front.

PART I


We knew that having an outdoor wedding was a must, but it took us forever to find the right place. After being dragged by our wedding planner to every single outdoor venue in the Georgia area, none of them seemed really special until we saw this one, the Cabot Memorial Gardens. It is such a beautiful place, it has the intimacy we were looking for but is still sophisticated. We fell in love with the lush foliage because it gave it this secret garden feel.

We picked green as our primary color scheme because we were inspired by the beautiful greenery of the location. We did select green cushioned chairs to continue the theme but kept it subtle and let the natural beauty really dictate the color palette.

The actual altar itself overlooks a beautiful pond. There is plenty of guest seating and a long table for the bride, groom, and the wedding party. The dance floor is covered by an arbor with hanging ivy and features a DJ booth and seating for tired guests. There is also a grand piano for more formal dancing. There is a bar, of course, in a courtyard with a fountain and seating.



PART II


I ended up going dress shopping with my mom. Since Collin and I saved up enough money to pay for the wedding ourselves, my mom wanted to pay for my wedding dress as a gift. I love my mom, and think she has excellent taste, but sometimes our styles just don't mesh...


The Dress- Negative

My mom made me try this dress on, but it is just not my style. Way too big and poufy and frilly and frou frou for my tastes. Of course, my mom loved it but I had to put my foot down, this is my wedding.

So after trying what seemed like a million more dresses on, I finally found the one. It was so beautiful with layered antique-white chiffon and this beautiful crystal leaf brooch. I just had to have it, and luckily even my mom could agree that it was perfect.

I am really sorry but I am not going to be able to put up my Round 2 tongith, I have been in and out of hospital these last few days as my boyfriends had some troubles with his hypoglecemia. I will understand completely if you disqualify me or whatever but if not I will be able to put up my entry tomorow probably, its almost finished but I am so tried that I am just not going to be able to finish it tonight.

I hate to be a pain in the butt again, but could I have a little more time too please? Not a long time, just like, until morning. I just graduated from college (WOO I'M A REAL PHYSICIST NOW YAY) and tonight is one of the last chances I'll get to spend time with my friends. We're going out for dinner in about 15 minutes and it isn't enough time for me to finish my entry. :(

Venue

The wedding is being held at Buckland Manor, a luxury hotel in Gloucestershire. The ceremony itself is going to be held outdoors in the garden, and the reception will be in the ballroom inside.

The flowers look wonderful at this time of year, and we love the architecture of the building. It all feels like something out of another time, a perfect compliment to our Victorian theme.

We're even going to have live music at the reception, hiring a pianist, violinist, and harp player to perform.

Dress

Colleen: One of the biggest reasons I wanted to have a Victorian theme was because I love the clothing. Finding the perfect dress, however, proved to be the most challenging aspect of the wedding so far. Having this particular theme put a lot of restrictions on the available options, and even with the help of my sister-in-law Sofia, I was having a very hard time finding anything that appealed to me.

Finally, though, we achieved success. The dress may not have "wedding" written all over it at first glance, but since I'm a nontraditional bride, why not have a nontraditional dress, especially when it makes me feel exactly the way my husband-to-be does: beautiful, regal, and completely satisfied.

As soon as we woke up, myself and all of my bridesmaids went to get our hair and nails done(yup thats me with the rollers and no make-up *cries* how embarassing!), after that we went back to my place to get ready, all of the girls were fixing up everything...Sheila had my dress, Britt had my hair and kristin did nothing but make me laugh :) just to get my pre-wedding jitters gone....
