I noticed that allot of the Sims in the town are in a relationship. Should I just create Single people and put them in the town?

you could do that, but I also hear those Sims who are taken, can be persuaded out of their current relationships ;)

And of course there are service sims, who I believe are always single, just as in Sims 2.
I've never had a problem finding single sims. But this does get me thinking a bit... it's not possible for the game to actually run out of a certain demographic is it? There will always be sims moving in? Lately everyone in my neighborhood is hitting the elderly stage and its getting a little scary :P

There are several single sims in Sunset Valley when you start playing that town. Just don't let your sim wait too long for a romantic relationship with one of them or they won't be single long. That is if you want them to have a mate or not. If you leave story progression on then there should be new singles that would move into town for when you are ready. I haven't checked this out myself since I play with the story progression off for now.

Your sim kids should have the Meet New Friends option while in school. Those people will eventually grow up along with your kids. So better make friends at that time for easier courtship when they reach adulthood.

At first it was hard to find a single sim and after a while they dated he got a girlfriend. But the sim could ask to end that relationship.

I met a fat single black male sim at the central park. It's where I got my sim's charisma level up to 10 by meeting everyone that goes there and chatting with them. He hates art but he's good and has a sense of humor. You would just need to get him to lose weight.
