Some pics from my neighbourhood. :) I really miss the neighbourhood decoration capabilities of TS2. Reason why I have only built one house and slightely decorated another one. And I'm afraid to download houses for fear of destroying the "moodlets".

Wow, GORGEOUS pics, everyone! There are really some stunning views in Sunset Valley and Riverview.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for these pics, but I downloaded a clean Sunset Valley and am in the process of placing all of the rabbit hole buildings and adding landscaping around them (benches, lights, trees, etc.). I decided to put the "fun" places down by the pier (except for the theater -- it's a little too big). I'm calling the new town Clarey Beach.

Night Racer, you're right, it's a huge project, but you could always just keep the pre-made homes and just empty them of the pre-made Sims. You could copy them all to the library and then place them back in a different arrangement. Of course, some of the lots are weird sizes and nothing else will fit in them, but you could either leave the original lot there or build something only on those weird lots -- still a lot less to build than doing the whole town! Plus there's always lots from MTS and other sites...but yeah, I know what you mean. This will take awhile. I'd love to see some other people do it, though, because I'm sure they'd have great ideas, and I find it inspiring.

All the pictures in this thread are very pretty. I have to say that while the neighborhood decorating limits are less, the ability to take beautiful screenshots of the neighborhood are much better.
I only have taken one picture in neighborhood view so far.

WOW beautiful pics! I'm currently remaking Sunset Valley into what will hopefully be a recreation of my favorite hood from Ts2. The good part is that Sunset Valley's terrain is very similar to the one I had in Ts2, the only problem is that I can't place lots wherever I want :(

heres my version of the seaside shops. I tried to go for a Boardwalk feel...but since the lots are not exectly next to each other (theres a 1 tile space between lots! WTF) its not exactly what i wanted...but i like it...now i need to figure out what to do with that massive rectangular lot all the old rabit hole buildings used to be in... :S

at night, when lit up, the boardwalk is to bright, to many street lights. but i couldnt care less at this point so its staying the way it is. :P

That looks awesome, NightRacer! I love the wooden flooring on the sidewalk. It does give it a real boardwalk feel.

I do really like the look of the buildings closer together, too. Very nice.

And yeah, that one-tile space between the lots is annoying. :-/

The water on all your pictures look so good, is it a mod?
Because I have a GeForce GTS 250 with 1GB, turned everything in the graphics setup to the maximum and forced texture filtering and antialiasing in my graphic card's driver, but the water doesn't look that good. =/

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he used moveobjects on. I imagine if the door is accessible on the lot it was placed on, then it doesn't matter that the rest of the building flows onto the other lots.

The stadium flows onto all 4 lots in that area, but its actually situated on the middle one.
Its an illusion, but it works well in real time.
I also use the two lots on the sides as residential lots with sims living on them. This gives the illusion of sports fans being around the stadium. :)
And see the fence by the window? It stops them running onto, what they think, is empty ground. Cause the stadiums not on that actual lot.

That is so clever with the stadium. I'm trying to turn that area (which was formerly those lofts) into sort of a "shopping center" with the bistro and a martial arts practice studio (when World Adventures comes out there should be practicing objects, at least that's what they said on Gamespot)

The other day I started to edit the blergh of the town.

City Hall is where the school used to be. The school is up where the criminal warehouse used to be.

Beautiful towns, Babolat and Tizerist!

I've kinda created my own town using the Sunset Valley template. It's called Shore City. I'm actually very pleased with it, even though there's no neighborhood tool out yet to edit the scenery and etc.

Here is a street in downtown... the "Civic Center" which is the district that has the city hall, art gallery, library, and Doo Peas office. In the pic, the one non-rabbit hole building on the far left is the Library, and the close up building on the right is a cafe.

I also made a church with a wedding reception room, lol but I've only used it once, for a neighbor's wedding :D

For some reason the three other pics I have are too big to be posted on this thread, even though I resized them. Two of the pictures were of the art gallery I made, and when World Adventures comes out I plan on adding an Egyptian exhibit to it.

I can't really remember what Riverview looked like at first anymore, but my riverview has become, effectively the first getaway area in my game. Forests, lakes, playgrounds, gardens, parks, it goes on for miles. This seems like a good enough place to put this. Been working on the town for over a while now and now that I'm back from NY I was able to pretty much finish the place. Took it for a test earlier, and now I'm just putting some finishing touches to the map. Sited on the lands of a former plantation, I've named the town Orchard for now.

I JUST finished this house today. I've been working on it for weeks now... (On and off, due to my very busy life.... all of a sudden :rofl: )

Anyhow, it's a 6 bedroom 7.5 MONSTER Victorian 4-level beast. It has a two car garage (It's only weakness. If it were a bigger lot, I'd make it a 4-car.), a home theater, THREE kitchens, (main level, bar, and kitchenette in theater), plus a very large deck. Oh yeah, it has BA landscaping.

It will be up early this week!

Woah, look at this. I was busy landscaping my new main town, and everything was rosy. All my Sunset Valley lots fitted easily and mostly looked fine in their new surroundings, with plenty of room to spare for later. Then I came across this monstrosity:

No way. What on earth is that? I reloaded earlier saves, fresh hood, cleared caches but it was a CAW glitch and I knew it. The town had to be scrapped. Back to Red County for now then.
But wait....how deep is the water in that section? Not that deep it turns out. So I started to poke around, and some of the hood deco rocks were tall enough to create this:

I think I have done enough to make it look unsuspicious. The scattered look covers what used to be a long triangle of glitchiness, but the water reacts to the rocks perfectly this way.

I agree. That second picture looks amazing and reminds me of Desperate Housewives for some reason haha. It's totally what I wanted the Sunset Valley to be like in the first place as it looks so realistic.

But I just know my computer would have a hissy fit if I were to have that many houses next to each other with high detailed lots on high lol. 1 or 2 would be fine, but obviously it would look rubbish. It can cope on 12, but only with EA lot spacing :(

It will lag just a little bit if I'm moving the camera around a lot because the game will start loading different lots. Other than that I don't really have any issues with lag or a slow frame rate. I have a powerful computer, though. Trying to play the city on an average computer would probably result in a lot of lag...

Whenever I get around to making the next version of the city I'm going to consolidate some of the lots. Right now there are around 158. About 100 of them are residential lots and the rest are commercial lots, parks, ponds, etc. There are around 160 sims and around 45 additional NPCs.

simsample, those pics are gorgeous! I especially love the one with the birds, with that misty haze over the town. Is that the default game lighting? I've been using the lighting tweaks mod for so long that I forgot what it looks like. :D

Thanks, jenba! That's a set of custom sky files I'm working on for that world, I haven't got them quite how I like yet. Sometimes it's sunny, sometimes cloudy, sometimes stormy, sometimes foggy. I'm using custom colour ramps too, so the water colour changes from time to time with the weather.

One thing I want to know from tizerist, how do you get the neighbourhood street lights to shine orange? I tried changing them once but it didn't work. The bulb changed colour but they still cast white light.

I'll have to come back and show off some shots of my custom world some time. I need to finish building the lots first though.

Ah, it's based on about 100 real and fictional places! It has bits of Toronto, bits of Twinbrook, bits of England, bits of France. Plus some bits inspired by various video games, books, films and music! :lol:

It's called Jericho, and I'm hoping to have a creator feedback thread up for it soon, since the worlds moderator thinks it might be okay to upload here. :)

I had to resurrect this thread. Although I sadly posted my world pictures in the random thread I thought I'd post the remaking of Twinbrook here.
I was sick of the same old same old. The EA worlds needed a bit of a pick-me-up so I wouldn't get too bored. So here's the Twinbrook town square but with less gloom! Although I kinda liked the gloomy atmosphere....

@ Simsample & Menaceman: Thank you so much! I'm in the process of totally renovating the whole town. I've made the art gallery into a 'unknown' vampire hangout(So proud of how it came out). The whole town centre is pretty much done with newer buildings and more coordinated plant life. I'm trying to keep the town with a few select choices on certain things. Also trying to make a storyline on how the a new mayor came into play and changed the place for the better...
But I cannot wait til I get my hands on Supernatural to start an zombie outbreak to cease town improvment and blah blah blah I might publish the whole thing. I'm currently going to go to basic so....it will take a few months until I can do or finish anything sadly... But then I will has monies!! Finally not going to be the broke teen yays!
But I will definitly post more pics!

Yup, it looks very different because the original has many many trees. I didn't like that, so I de-forested it to make it look more arid and 'mesa'. The deforestization worked wonders, and so it is almost unrecognisable. There was no turning back once I saw the new look. I do plan to put cactuses down definately.

Simsample, yep you got it. Everyone loves that track.

Also wanted to share some pictures from the very early stages of the world I started today. First time using CAW. I was working on a different world, which got really complicated/impossible, so I thought "What'd be easier?" This is pretty much a test run but I kind of like how it's turning out. It's a sandbar world based off Sable Island. And called...Sable Island. :blink:

Everything's really barren mainly because I haven't got round to filling in all the blank spaces yet. And also because it's a sandbar. Not much on sandbars, really.

The Sunset Valley image? No mod, that's what it looks like for your active sim as they are dying from a mummy curse. :)

Yeah, the one with all the sun rays. That's the result of a death scenario? Huh. Weird. xD

Well, the death takes two weeks- for the first few days you can't tell anything's wrong (except for the cursed moodlet), then after that the sunburst effect gets progressively darker.

Got some nice shots of the heavyweight Rinn Fada neighbourhood. This hood is absolutely excellent. In my view it's the best rural town out there. Completely captures the rural Irish life. Like Riverview, but twice the size, with no ugly rabbitholes.
It will see heavy rain come November. Well done Conorsim. :)
