I want to make a door, a sliding door to be more exact. Just want to know where to start with the tutorials. I can mesh but i've done almost no object creation.

Thanks.

I'd start by making a few 'normal' objects first before you launch off into making anything that needs to behave in a different way. There is a lot of stuff to learn between the mesh and the game.

Once you've got that down, look at animating objects (I think there's a dresser tutorial somewhere which covers the basics of retaining animations in existing objects), then read the general information on animation and joints. Doors are a bit of a pita because there's actually not a lot 'in' them, I certainly wouldn't know how to approach doing a sliding door and I've been doing this for 4+ years!

That's not to be discouraging of course, there's every chance that it's possible, but definitely start at the beginning! Good luck :)

thanks. it'll take me a bit, but i'm creative so i'll figure something out thats unique. It's the package part that scares me. SimPe has way too many numbers...

There is already a sliding door in game, the Wachowt Glass door.

Yes, but you clone that one to achieve the sliding animations. :) You don't need to learn animations, you use existing ones. Follow some of the start to finish object creation tutorials. You will use the in game one as your guide to size and position, and the game will apply those animations to your new mesh parts.
