View Full Version : Problem with repository counters

Hope somebody can help me with this one, because I'm kind of stuck.

I made four counters with Numenor's clone templates - two in each package. Then I made them repository with one package being the master and the other being the slave.

At first it worked almost fine. One of the slave counters had a funny thumbnail with blue countertop, but the texture showed up fine when it was placed in game.

Then I made a recolor of the master. One of the slave counters took the recolor ok, but it didn't show up in the other (the one with the funny countertop).

Then I made some changes in the first entry of the GNMD of the slave (inserted tsmaterialsmeshname etc). The result was that the thumbnails now look the way they should, and the recolors show up for both slave counters, but when placed they have no texture and are flashing blue.

I've attached both counter packages and the recolor. Counters1 is the master. Counters2 is the slave.

Would love to know what I have done wrong. Thank you very much in advance. :)

I took a quick look but I am not on my game computer so I cannot double check this in game. But if you look at the slave SHPE, the _untagged0 line, the countertop matdef appears to have a typo. It is missing the brackets [ ] around the creator name.

Hopefully this is the issue, I will check back tomorrow.

You have got to be kidding. Something that simple, yet so dumb to miss.

EDIT:

No, that wasn't it. I corrected it and all it did was get rid of the blue countertop in the thumbnail. I tried correcting it in both versions (before and after I inserted a tsmaterialsmeshname in the top GNMD) - with the same result.

Then I tried making a whole new slave where I only inserted the master mesh name in the 5 bottom GNMD's and of course edited all the shapes. I also replaced the models materials text file - as if it it was a repository island to the master counter. The result was that all textures showed up fine, except it still says that one of the slave counters is 'not designable'.

I've attached the new slave version, if that'll be of any help to anybody.
I think this is as 'correct' as I can get it without any help.

Nevermind it all. I think I got it. I have no idea how - just kept trying to change different parameters and eventually something worked.

Sorry to have bothered you all. HugeLunatic, thank you very much for being a help. :)

No bother, glad you got it sorted, sorry I couldn't get back to this sooner. RL beckoned. It's a very nice counter.
