I had to re-install TS3 after re-installation of Windows 7 RTM 64-bit. After re-installation of TS3, I copied the TS3 folder under "My Documents" folder and the Mods folder under "Program Files (x86)" folder from backup. Do I have to re-install the mods?

You should post in the Game Help forum (http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=551).
You shouldn't have to "install" the mods, just moving the package files should be enough (it was for me). But since you reinstalled perhaps you didn't follow all the steps to set up your game for cc again. Make sure you have the current Resource.cfg file and the d3dx9_31.dll file if you are using a core mod. Also make sure you are placing the files back in the correct spot. It's easy to forget a step on a reinstall or to fall back to TS2 ways.

Just copy and paste your TS3 folder back to mydocs and put your mods folder back in your root Sims 3 folder. Good for you remembering to backup your game. :) Make sure you get the current resource.cfg file as mentioned above. It should work just fine.

Is there a program that backs up and restores TS3 data files in "My Documents" and "Program Files (x86)" folders? I forgot about the Resource.cfg file. I tried re-installing the mod that gives men hairy chests but it still doesn't show up.
