My game, every time during the initial loading screen, keeps popping out of existence. I've followed all of the instructions, and have even been so far as to uninstall and reinstall the game. The problem still stands.

I had the helper monkey installed before. When the problem first appeared I followed the directions on how to delete my mods and found my packages folder to be empty.

I feel like one of the mods I downloaded was corrupted, but after using the helper monkey on the zip files, I guess they just automatically installed to the game without an external, alterable trace.

And now, even though I uninstalled and reinstalled everything sims 3 related on my computer, the problem mod is still hiding somewhere in my computer.
I don't even have a mods file anymore now.

I don't know what to do. Please help me. Please oh please oh pretty please!!

I'm not sure I can follow. If you uninstalled and reinstalled, that would mean you have no custom content at the moment. Why do you think this is a custom content problem? You didn't reinstall your CC after reinstalling the game, or did you?

If it keeps crashing even without CC, it could be a hardware issue. Can you post your specs please? http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game%20Help:System%20Specs

No, I didn't reinstall any custom content. It's as fresh and clean as new fallen snow now.

I had the game running great and fine for the longest time-- installing custom content, playing with it, getting all the new patches and updating the hacks that needed updating.

Then one day, my friend borrowed my game. In the mean time, I downloaded a butt-load of CC from other sites, some of them backwater blogs and non-English websites.

When I got my game back, that's when the problem started.

The rest is history.

If it was a problem with the system requirements, would it have worked all that time before?

What do you mean by "borrowed your game" – you've let somebody else play the game on your computer, and after that it didn't work anymore? If that is the case, I'd have some stern words with that friend =/.

Or do you mean the problems started when you installed all the items you had downloaded? If that's the case, since you don't have them installed anymore now, they can't very well be the reason for your current issues.

Regarding system requirements, if your computer is under specs, it's entirely possible that it worked for a while and eventually gave up. But without knowing what your specs are, obviously we can't tell whether that could be the case here.

You mean your friend borrowed your CD right?
And duting that time you downloaded all CC as usual but without the CD in the drive and you didn't play the game until your friend brought back the game cd, right?
So when you put back the cd in the drive it didn't work well as ever, right?

Many "right?" because I tried to follow the problems step by step to know where exactly your problem started. It must start somewhere.
