View Full Version : Get the photos back?

I heard that if you deleted all the uploads in the game launcher, it would run faster, so I did that. But I didn't think the photos I took would completely disappear! I thought they would stay in their file, and be deleted from the launcher. Now I can't find them! I checked the trashcan, but they were nowhere to be found. I want my pictures back, I don't want to loose them  Is there any way to get them back?

A system restore will -not- restore anything like that. It's not worth a shot and would likely mess up more than it'd fix (i.e. nothing).

hmm...try a system restore to the day before you deleted the pictures. worth a shot.

Did you try your My Docs Screenshots folder?

\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Screenshots

I thought it would fix it since I sometimes accidentally delete photos and files and a system restore brings it back. well then yea just do what Gangreless pointed out.

No, that's the problem, they're not in the screenshots folder :(

I could restore the computer, but the last time I did that, everything got messed up... (Java for example got deleted for no reason...) So I'm not sure if I dare xD

You could try Restoration (http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html) but don't get your hopes up too much.

For your screenshots taken with the in-game camera- if you tend to delete files fairly frequently in the future I would create folders in your My Docs/My Pictures folder labeled with the name of each family, or game save and when you are done playing for the day- go to your My Docs/Electronics Arts/Sims 3/Screenshots Folder go to edit/select all/move and then move them into the appropriate folders. This way the number of screenshots does not weigh down our game and you don't lose them when you go on a deletion spree.

When you "uninstall" ha ha ha, anything from the launcher it deletes the files. I suppose this is why the button is called Delete instead of uninstall. But still one would think intuitively that it deletes them from your game right now, and maybe later on you can install them again if you want those houses later. Anyway, the files in the Downloads folder, all the sims3pack files, are deleted from the folder as well, so you need to have copies somewhere else, the original downloaded .rar files kept somewhere else for example.

System Restore doesn't bring back deleted files, as HP has said, don't listen to anyone who says anything different.

I said that but I also said if it's stuff you don't use. If you want to delete stuff from the launcher, next time put everything on a CD or a backup folder -___-.

The easiest way is to go to My documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3
Right-click screenshots then left-click rename. Just write 'backup' or whatever after screenshots. It won't show up in the launcher and I think the game creates a new 'Screenshots' folder if you take new screenshots.
