Sim3Pe Problem

Using Sim3Pe for the first time and am following a tutorial, all goes well until I am asked to highlight the file and export. Problem is I get no option under the file menu to import or export...those functions are missing from the menu.

Operating System is Vista 64 bit
Have the proper framework installed 3.5
SimPe installed to default location
Tried moving the package to another location but that made no difference either.

What am I doing wrong that SimPe does not have export even listed as a function? It's not greyed out..it is completely missing. I'm assuming the problem is due to my error not the program's fault.

Are you sure you are running the right program? SimPE is for Sims 2. S3PE (NOT Sim3PE) is for Sims 3.

If you are indeed asking about s3pe, then the Import/Export function is in the Resource drop down menu. Or click on the file and right click to see the options.

Thank you! The tutorial I was following said and showed in the picture that export was under File but it must have been in a version older than I downloaded today then. *smiles* Yes, I do see it under Resource.

Delphy, the last time I made anything for The Sims was Sims 2 so used to saying SimPe. Sorry, I did edit the post to add 3 right after I posted it.

Hello !

Since two or tree days I have a problem to clone object in S3PE (S3OC works correctly). Before I have all the boxes below (viewer, grid, ...) accessible but now, all are empty with a little asterix in the box !
So I can't see the right image with "viewer" option or I can't change the status with the "grid" option !

Is it normal ? have you changed something ? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of S3PE but nothing changes !

Could you help me ?

Ok I have a question about S3PE.... I'm trying to find a way to change a ghost character to a normal playable character so him and the woman he loves can get married. Can I do this with this program, or do I need a Sims 3 version of SimPE? If not, any other idea if this can be done in any way?

Firestaar1, I think the appropriate tool for what you want to do is TigerM's neighborhood editor, around this site somewhere.

Khany, don't use s3pe to clone an object if you can do it better in s3oc :D

Sorry ! I use "clone" in bad situation !

Just want to change base design (finding the right _IMG file with the viewer) or to unlock object (in Grid panel) but nothing still acessible in these boxes.

For example : making a cover for a bed like here (http://www.khanysims.be/meubles3.php) I must find the right _IMG file. It's impossible since 3 days. I have a S3PE looking like this :

(not in relation with the object I choose, I try with several - bed - paintings - ... it's always the same)

The whole forum is about s3pe and s3oc, so we don't have to have just one thread, we can spread out :)

To populate those boxes, you have to click the QBE button, which stands for "query by example". Or you can type directly into them. You will need to tick the values you want transferred to the final filter criteria, before clicking Set. I believe this is fully described in the Help.

I ask this because 3 days ago, all the boxes are full ! No need to validate a QBE button or type in value !

That's why it seems so strange to me ! I just have to click "Viewer" or "Grid" and a window opens immediatly without any other action.

So thanks a lot for answering ! I'll try to find my way into these S3PE ...

In an older version they did fill automatically. We stopped that because people were losing filter info they didn't want to lose, and also the automatic processing for every line (eg when you are scrolling down quickly) was slowing down the screen refresh.
