Those of you who came over here when we merged S2C will remember that, every year around this time, we had a special fun thing to do: The Yearbook.

Traditionally MTS has never run a yearbook but this year it's a little different - since we now have both sites, we are running only one.

The yearbook is basically like a high school yearbook, where you can post up an (optional) picture, and some basic text about yourself, and then look at other peoples profiles and comment, and so on.

To access the Yearbook, click here: http://yearbook.modthesims.info/

(Note that this will take you to a different site, without the MTS navbar and so on. Don't be afraid! This is perfectly normal).

To create your yearbook profile click "Submit" in the top left. This will automatically import your MTS account settings, including some biographical details. You may edit any and all of this information to suit yourself.

Just remember to have fun, and keep comments PG13 please! :)

Question:

What will happen to the 2009 yearbook when 2010 comes?

*squee* Yay. :D

It's so fun to try and guess (usually wrongly) what someone looks like. :P

Brill! Set myself up, once again! I almost forgot about the yearbook :D

No one looks as I expected them to look...with the exception of HP, who actually does resemble her self-Sim quite a lot. Very cool idea, btw.

joninmobile: Nothing? Previous yearbooks are closed and then archived, but not removed.

This is a great idea! Now I know who I'm talking with.
It's fun to see the pics, really.

But one thing I don't get is: How do I 'publish' my new Bio? I typed a whole text, but there was no green tick so I can't confirm the text. When I clicked F5, the whole text was GONE! :O -_-"
So: How do you replace your bio and click confirm, just like the other fields???

Delphy
27th Sep 2009, 10:09 AM
Press Enter or click the green tick underneath the field.

SimsShine
27th Sep 2009, 12:49 PM
That's what I mean, there is no green tick...
And when I press Enter, I get a new line. But both things DO work with the other fields. But not this one..

It's weird to see how many people are the opposite gender you thought they were O.O

Delphy, is possible to add a shortcut to the yearbook somewhere like in profiles? Or there's one and I haven't seen it yet?

The forumers here sure are a good-looking bunch.
I had fun matching the names to their pics!

There's a shortcut link to it on the navbar, I think is the term?

This is v. snazzy! I was expecting HP to have long brown hair!!! Dunno why!

Delphy

SimShine: Screenshot what you are seeing please.

Anubis: You can always add it to your signature, but since it's only going to run till the end of the year, theres no point having a permenant link in the profile.

Weird isn't it???
I really don't see any way to confirm the new text.... :|

I see I can't post pics in this thread, but I can't make an account with photobucket so I've made a quick link to the pic from my site... http://www.simsshine.com/MTS.htm

You can attach images here - just hit Go Advanced as usual. What browser are you using? It looks like your browser is misinterpreting the code.

Weird.. I can't make comments...

SimsShine
28th Sep 2009, 06:40 AM
Another weird thing: I clicked 5 times at 'go advanced' yesterday but I didn't get any button to attach the image...

But what can I do, to make it work if my browser isn't right..

Delphy

Okay I see the issue. It's with the e in "Chloe". Change it to a normal English e and it'll be fine. (The yearbook code is ancient and doesn't handle unicode or multi-language stuff properly)

What do I do, so that I can make comments? Because every time I type in a comment and press "Post" the page refreshes, but no comment. :(

SimsShine

Ok, I see. Thanks Delph!

Edit: I changed the name at my profile-page in Chloe. But I don't see any changes in my yearbook.
And I typed in the real-name-form 'Chloë' but that one works.
I also typed 'Chloe' in the Bio-form, but that's when the problem was started: I can't confirm it!

SimsShine: Okay I went in and nuked the bio for you. You should now be able to type it properly and save it :)

Can people who are not members of modthesims.info have a profile there? or at least comment?

I ask because I have a lot of friends who don't get into simming.

whiterider

No - it's the MTS yearbook, thus only MTS members can use it.

This is a great idea - why is it coming out so late in the year?

HystericalParoxysm

We always do them fairly late in the year - they're not meant to be a year-round thing, but sort of to "close out" the year.

It's great to put a face to the name, I usually wouldn't take part in something like that but it was fun. I was really surprised by some of them in there, a lot of them are so much younger than I imagined, even Delphy and HP. I feel really old now hahaha

Hey Fluttereyes you said what I was gonna say! LOL but it is great to put faces to names! I think the yearbook is the bestest idea ever! Especially considering that I didn't get enough yearbooks in High School  The popular thing is pretty cool too, and I guess the comments are like signatures in the back pages of the yearbook! OOOHHH must go look through my h.s. yearbooks....*runs off to remenice about high school*

I just posted a short message about the year book being a fantastic idea. I just had my second surgery within the past year and have not been able to play the Sims. I think it is a great idea to hear from all the members of the site and their thanks for the excellent job you all do. You deserve the best wishes. Keep up the good work. A young 61 year old in good spirit in spite of every thing going on with me. :gjob:
