Hello There,
I tried Ambrosia three times and the ghost doesn`t come alive!
First and second time he ate it cooked by a friend, third time he cooked it himself. Every time he is happy for 7 days because of the real good food, but still a ghost. What can I do? Is there a cheat which I can try?
Shall I try it with other ghosts? Do I have to choose other options in gameplay? I got no hacks or special downloads except riverview and some sims downloaded on the official side.
I`m from Germany, sorry for mistakes ;-)
Please help me!

I heard ambrosia only brings non-playable ghosts back to life.
If you're playing a ghost, only his lifespan is reset.

I've never tried it but I thought it only brought playable ghosts back to life!
So I guess that means playable ghosts are stuck as ghosts forever?

The "Chaos Mod" painting will make playable ghosts...well, not ghosts any more. They just have to be on the lot for it to work (which, if they're playable, obliviously isn't an issue).

Hello Misanthrope,
Thank you, seems you are right, I tried with another ghost, he came alive, but my playable one not. But I saw at "youtube" that playable ghosts also come alive ?!?

Youtube lies. They probably used the painting I linked you to.

this actually raises a question ive had but not been able to test out, one way or another:
do sim ghosts DIE?
like, the ones born in game, they do age...so... do they die? isnt that a bit um, ironic that a ghost could die, if they do?
oddly enough, ive had one NPC ghost turn into an elder when he died as a teen...so i wonder what happens after they reach the max. age for elder. do they just die again? lol

If you bring back ghosts at the science centre, they basically re-live their elderhood (the same aging style). When the end of the bar is reached, a pop-up comes up saying they have to return to the netherworld. I've never had a ghost that I've played long enough that wasn't an elder to say for sure, but I don't see why it would be any different. So technically, yes, the re-die, however the game calls it 'returning to the netherworld'.

Can you have Young Adult Playable Ghosts, I'm trying to make a succubus sim, but to do that I need her to be a ghost as Succubi are spirits (demons actually, but a demon is still a spirit) I'm trying to get her to die of fire so that she can be "hot" but I don't want her to be old.

Young Adult sims can die in fires, yes. If you are having trouble, follow the link in one of my previous posts to the 'Chaos Mod' painting. It gives you the option to ghostify sims, and ways to kill them off and then make the ghosts playable.

I just discovered that if playable sims eat ambrosia they don't even gain any lifespan from it :(

I had a family with 2 playable ghosts, one was the parent and one was the child. I had both eat Ambrosia. The one that was born a ghost, became a living sim, the one that had died in game, didn't.
She had also aged up while a ghost, and her aging status did reset, so I figured she didn't become living again because she had aged up as a ghost.

Very useful info Pumpkin Masher :)
My playable ghost who's age status didn't reset when he ate ambrosia died an elder and had been resurrected but was an elder ghost near the end of his "life".
