What are some of the songs that you just can't stand to listen to any more. That just have been played too many times on the radio.

For me, its the title song from Titanic. I just cant change the station fast enough.

I can't really recall exactly which songs I can't stand--probably due to my intentionally blocking them from memory--but anything by the Bee Gees would qualify. :P Or the title song from Titanic. That's awful too. :wtf:

Did you know that a song that is stuck in your head is called an earworm? Funny, the things I stumble upon when looking up earwigs. :D Very unfortunate if it's a song you can't stand.

There's this song that some moron used to sing whenever I used to be near him. Funnily, it's a nice song, but I get the hives just hearing it.

Only Romanians might understand this, but there's this genre of music (actually, is more of an insult to music) called "manele". Horrible!

minus.
10th Oct 2009, 12:11 PM
For me, it's Get Lucky by Dragonette. It's in a stupid commercial that's played every 2 minutes. It came on the moment I started typing this. It's terrible.

Also, I agree with Vlad. Sadly I know what manele is

The Loving Kind by Girls Aloud.

It wrecks my head so much, oh and anything by Akon, Neyo or PCD.

Katy Perry - Kissed a girl.

Black Eyed Peas - I gotta feeling.

I swear they play the latter twice an hour. Every fricking hour. And every time I turn the radio on, it's playing. I'm so sick of it.

Anything Lady Gaga. I don't listen to the radio, but her songs crop up in other programs- So You Think You Can Dance, SNL, The Office, commercials... she wasn't good in the first place, and I'm sick of her.

Anything that uses a lot of electronic voice alteration...like Akon and other people, every single song has their voice sounding electronic - it's annoying and seems like a way to hide lack of singing skills -_-

Agree, I had (had because I'm unemployed now) a co-worker listened to same songs in his computer for 4 years, 4 years I had that songs in my head when I went to bed, and I couln't do a thing to stop it. :wtf:

I don't Care - Apocalyptica (Yes Adamn Gointer, You don't care, nor do I for your crappy song)

That new Sick Puppies song is getting old.

Lifeline - Papa Roach (Urgh)

Many of the newer Linkin Park songs, that band used to be nice, what happened!?

Ironically I say this when I'm infamous for listing to the same song at least 3-4 times min before changing, once listened to the same song for a week while at my computer.

Any song with lyrics, with very few exceptions.

My feeling is that music is an art form, and if the music tells you what it's about, it is lazy man's music.

Ditto. She is, urhmm. Weird.

And that right there is the answer to the question. Weird is supposed to = interesting. That kind of interesting is supposed to drive sales well enough to justify fame. Legitimate talent is a plus (see: Jackson, Michael) but not always deemed necessary.

Anything that my son listens to over...and over...and over...again. Mostly, it's stuff by Slipknot, Disturb'd, and Bullet for My Valentine. I don't usually encourage him to use his headphones because I'm afraid he'll be deaf by the time he's 18, but that's what I've resorted to now. I just can't take it anymore. :)

Which one? They all sound exactly the same.

For me, it's Apologize by OneRepublic. And then the remix with Timbaland in the background making strange noises? No thanks.

Pretty much anything by Led Zeppelin -- after hearing them all my life, I'm tired of it.
Any rap music -- doesn't take talent to shout or chant filth.
Not qualified to slam country singers since I never listen to the crap.
that new song called something like put the world (or earth?) in jars, stupid, stupid, stupid
System of the Down -- which has more to do with Serge than their music. The year they came out, he stood on a stage and insulted the American way of life in front of 50,000 Americans.
Nothingface. Gawd, what an awful band.

The list goes on . . . .

It's been said already, but "Fireflies" by Owl City makes me cringe. It has an overly happy melody which is okay once or twice, but not for the fiftieth time. And the lyrics are so corny. It sounds almost like a 10-year-old wrote them, except that I never knew a 10-year-old who was so annoyingly fake. Maybe it's more like one of those school guidance counselors who talk in overly-saccharine, cliche phrases.

I'm also starting to get tired of Paparazzi by Lady Gaga. I generally like the song, but it's been overplayed.
