Peter and I are not intending to buy this EP until it's in the bargain bins. Would someone here who is getting it, volunteer to pass information to us about folder layouts in the installation, and help to test?

Sure I'm going to get it pretty quick.... Just tell me what you need screenshots, files etc and let me know and it's all yours :)

Basically we'd need to know what new files and folders the EP installed, and what was in which directory. Then Peter would update s3oc to take account of the new files, and we'd ask you and other volunteers to see if it was indeed offering the new objects for cloning, and creating them properly.

Can you tell me the full path starting from C:\ please - is there a new parent directory for the EP, under which the your list of folders sits?

What's incredibly important is that we test if the msil assemblies have the same encryption as those in the base game.
I have the EP and I will be installing and testing that shortly if someone has not done so already.
In my opinion:
Best Case: They have the same encryption, their members have the same names as the base game, and they've been split up into even more assemblies to allow for more core mods.
Worst Case: The exact opposite. Different encryption, different member names, and possibly grouped into less assemblies. This will definitely piss me off.

Is this really in the scope of s3pi? If not it might be better to start a thread in a different section.

I'm not entirely sure, but I probably will be starting a new thread based on my findings, up to the point I'm either able to open up the assemblies in Reflector or until I hit a wall in extracting them from the package files.
But here is something relevant to this topic: An almost full file and directory listing for the expansion pack:

Grah!!!!!!!!! Looks like we're gonna have the same hassle with s3oc updates each EP as we used to have with SimPE :(

So I take it that it doesn't work with World Adventures - yet?!

None of it should have stopped working, but cloner probably won't understand how to make stuff from the new EP.

If you have the new patch installed, and don't have world adventures, I found you cannot clone a fence, or stairs because they have changed the file format and stuff, I presume, because they have made fences and stairs recolourable. All that happens when I try and clone a fence, is that s3oc crashes.

I removed all of my cc to get WA running, then I put some eyebrows and the resource file in the usual location, and they and the game still worked fine. Not sure if this means anything for you, just thought I'd put it out there.

Ok... if someone here with WA already is volunteering to help, I would like you to open your FullBuildep1, and extract the OBJDs from three new objects that were new in the WA ep. Please make them into a new package and get them to me - I think you can make it an attachment in this thread :)
