Is there a way to bridge a foundation or decking surface to the ground without having to use steps? This assumes that the ground elevation has been raised/lowered to the level of the foundation/decking. See photo for example of what I'm talking about.
I would like the beach pier to seamlessly start at the same elevation as the ground, but can't find a way to do that. Without changing the sea floor elevation, I've used columns (1 and 2 story) for the pier. So, in this case, the ground to pier elevation is dictated by the height of the columns. In the photo, you can see that the pier is 1 step lower than the ground. I didn't bother lowering the ground to the same elevation as the pier because it was pointless if I can't join the 2 surfaces without using stairs.
