Certificate Fraud!

I have certificates in Martial Arts and Wine Nectar Making, and I noticed that they both are nothing more but copies of the Handiness Certificate!

The little skill icon on both is a wrench! Is this just my game for whatever reason, or was EA just being really lazy?

Perhaps I have discovered just what they REALLY do at the Outstanding Citizens Warehouse Corp.

Good catch. Sounds like a bug for sure. Bet you could fire up S3PE and fix the icon pretty easily if it bothers you :)

I wouldn't mind, except I wouldn't know what to do, truth be told. I don't really have any experience in modding stuff like objects. Er, don't even know where to find it even.

I don't know that it's a glitch, it's probably just laziness - has anyone received certificates with the WA symbols on? I just have the handiness symbol too and I think EA probably just couldn't be bothered to make new symbols.

Personally, I never really look at them, anyway - I sell 'em off to make room in my inventory.

Mine even had the wrong names on them. I have a sim who is half Orc and half Klingon, and his wife got the mail the day his martial arts certificate came. Somehow his certificate has her name on it! I'm hoping that when she gets her certificate we can sort things out by having him get the mail. Otherwise we are going to have a very unhappy half orc

EA's either being lazy or careless. They set the Martial Arts, Nectar, and Photography skills to award certificates, but they didn't bother to add certificate images for these skills. The Handiness certificate is just the default certificate. (For anyone who's interested, the image files for the certificate rewards are in fullbuild2. The image for the certificate is set based on the skill name when the certificate is created, but I haven't yet worked out how the game uses the skill name to figure out which image instance ID it needs.)
