I don't think I'm even halfway through it. Even so, this is hands down THE best GTA title I've played yet. San Andreas is HUGE! I've spent more time driving around Los Santos and San Fierro than I have simming and I still don't know my way around the place. I love the dialogue and cutscenes though, some of them are funny as hell. The music is great too, I'd always secretly loved 1990s soul.
(gang is under fire)
Smoke: Damn, I spilled my soda!
Ryder: The business at hand, motherf*****r, the business at hand!
(in San Fierro garage)
Kendl: Do I look like a hooker to you?
(Is it bad that I was thinking 'yes' at that point? CJ's sister has zero dress sense.)

It's really a great game. I enjoyed playing it some years ago a lot.

San Andreas is great! I went pretty far.. like to the Las Vegas location (I forgot the name they gave it in the game). But I had some glitch that screwed up the main missions, so I never finished :[ I would try to restart the whole game again but there was too much to do lol. San Andreas has the most things you can crazily do in the GTA series, like the jet packs xD But Vice City is still my favorite for the beachy and 80's atmosphere :]

GTA SA was a very entertaining game, but something was not right with the hood takeover system. 1. The pathfinding was awful - gangstas would seem to have a clear way to get near, but would turn and take the long way around. Sometimes they would go around a building complex and other times they would exit the entire hood zone, go off the radar, and return through another side. This often led to a loss due to time over. 2. CJ must stay in the hood zone! He can't step out of the boundary to chase the last long pathfinding gangstas or the mission would be lost.
These two issues together, along with braindead AI, caused such difficulty that there were zones that were impossible to conquer because gangstas would seem to flee right off of the battlefield.
Along with CJ, I fondly remember two side characters ( aside from the main characters ): 1. The Truth - this guy claimed to have an aluminum foil hat that protected against alien mind control 2. Zero - this is that nerd who had CJ battle his nemesis via remote controlled toys. This is all over a grudge over who won the science fair in high school.
I'm glad I played and enjoyed the SA for what it was, but I wouldn't go back to it.

GTA:SA was good, wasn't my favorite. For me it was just a bit too "ghetto". I much preferred Vice City, but then I really only liked that one because of the music and the whole scarface deal lol

I loved GTA SA....I got to the part where you had to learn to fly and although I probably spent a week on it I just couldn't get the hang of flying those stupid planes....i quit the game cause i couldnt progress any further..shame really awesome game right up until that....the flying totally ruined the game...big mistake on the developers part!

It was a great game for the time, but GTA4 beats it. Progress marches on. I'm more partial to the Vice City soundtrack though

Las Venturas :)
It usually only glitches if you cheat. Don't use cheats and you should be fine.
Yeah, Vice City is pretty awesome. I kind of have a thing for the '80s - I was born in '85, but I long for that decade like baby boomers pine about the '50s XD

I didnt use cheats at all D: I would use them after I finish a game If I wanted. I remember the mission I had was to take out this girl on a date with CJ in disguise, but she somehow died or disappeared o_o I forgot if the mission failed or it never had a result lol Ah well.
GTAIV is good, but not the best in my opinion. Well, except the graphics xD I have yet to finish this one since I lost interest in it a while ago. But the only reason why I got a PS3 was for GTAIV :x
<<crazy GTA fan D:!

I used to play San Andreas together with my boyfriend. It was so much fun. He always had to do the flight lessons because I just wouldn't manage it. Why didn't you just download a savegame?
It's definitely one of my favorite games ever. The map is huuuuuge and there's so much to do. Stunts, girlfriends, breaking and entering, driving all these cool vehicles, gang wars, fitness studios etc.
I remember that Zero's missions drove me crazy. I had to try them like 30 times in the beginning. When replaying SA, I still need 5 tries
If GTA IV worked properly, it would be great, too. My boyfriend has a brand new, quite good gaming PC and we can only play it on lowest graphics and it's still so unsteady, you can't even shoot precisely. Well, it's common knowledge that the programmers did a crappy job on GTA IV. What a waste :(

Yeah, I got GTA IV on the PC and although I have a pretty good gaming system (I can play crysis on medium ect) it was sooooo laggy and choppy.... really bad conversion!

The best of the series and in my opinion one of the best sandbox games out there...keep going, it gets much more fun as you go further.
