There are rumor that EA develop a stand alone game call The Sims Medieval for PC. What do you think?
This is cool, I always want to play sims in different era of time. I hope by installing this game, we can share items and features between The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval, especially TS Medieval to TS3. No need for conversion objects to make it run on TS3.
I also hope EA will release another themes in the future like Castaway (I like this game, living as primitive people in Paradise Island), Roman era or even ancient Japan.

Hmmm... Sounds like they're making a whole new game out of something that could have been done with an expansion pack. New medieval destination where you could live or something like that.
Moooo! Says the EA Cow.

But there's already Mysims Kingdom
This sounds cool, and I don't see how this could be an EP, it's an entirely different concept

I think this could - and should - very well be integrated into the main Sims game. All it really would take would be some horses (and maybe a couple of other animals) and replacements for the necessary electric devices (larder instead of fridge, fire stoves, writing desk instead of computer, pidgeons instead of phones :P). Everything else the creative fan base can (and probably already has) provided.

I don't think this could be integrated into TS3 as an EP.
I mean, practically everything bar plants and pillars would have to be 'locked-out' while the player plays in medievil mode. Vehicles, appliances, electronics, none of this is relevant to the medievil era.
A standalone game is necessary for this subject, and I would definately have to have this game if it comes out.
Roman era or even ancient Japan.
Hell yeah! Put me down for Victorian London while you're there.

I. Want. Jousting... oh and "We Will Rock You" as an included song ala Heath Ledger's "A Knights Tale."

I disagree that there would have to be a separate game for this. There was a stuff pack of medieval items for TS2; why would they not do that with TS3?

There was? Are you talking about the furniture in Uni or the "castle items" available from the Sims 2 Store?
I can see them setting up a Sims Stories-type franchise for themed Sim worlds, but those separate games always frustrate me because I end up wanting all interactions and items available when I play, whether I'm playing the main or "side" game.
(Obligatory over-explainy note: I'm using Sims Stories as an example of a separate game with recycled base game content and programming. The Stories series was marketed as laptop-friendly: since we all know how demanding TS3 is + the trend in low-spec notebooks, I'm not suggesting these side franchises would be marketed to the same purpose. There. Wasn't that worth the death of 1000 pixels?)

Yeah a STUFF pack, that's a little different than an entire game (And there was no medieval stuff pack so I have no clue what you're talking about XD)

Hm, maybe I was dreaming --but I could have sworn there was a whole bunch of medieval items (including walls, floors, stairs, furniture, and clothes) that were medieval (castle-ish?) in ts2? Gah! I can't remember.
I remember using them in a legacy family I had. O.o
EDIT:
I am positive the items were in an official EP/Stuff pack. No idea which one since it's been about 3 years since I even looked at those games.

Yeah, with mangaroo on this one, definitely no medieval stuff pack for TS2.
Also, since horses are integral to the medieval theme, imho, this would have to be an EP rather than just non-animated stuff. I do not like the standalone game idea either. I would love this as an EP for TS3.
P.S. to the OP: Got a source/link for this rumour?

They succeeded very well on removing most of the driveable roads in the WA destinations, so I see no problems with them making a separate map like the ones in WA where the roads could only be used by horse and carriage. And with build/buy restrictions like they already got on different kinds of lots.

Does anyone remember an announcement about a month ago 'something that will change the series forever'
that was being announced later this year?
This may be that..

^ Never put much faith into those sort of statements, companys constantly over hype their products, That is why you never buy anything over day time tv

One of the things I would suspect is it is to be integrated into the game. There must be a reason for time machines and also the fact that now you have random ghosts in historical style dress.

I donīt know about TS2 but in the Store you can buy these items for TS3. Iīve been thinking about spending my simpoints on this stuff... :)

I didn't even know there was a TS2 store. Or maybe I just blacked it out.
At first I thought a separate game wasn't warranted because I no longer expect a full kit and kaboodle package from EA. I use to play a game called Sronghold that was fun. I wouldn't mond something like that being done with Sims. But I started thinking what would a complete Medieval Sim World like that entail?...
I listed some stuff here but I know that's just the tip of the iceberg. What else would be needed?
Building:
Strongholds, Taverns, Castles, Thatched Roofs, Hovels, Dirt Floors, Straw Floors, Stained Glass, Cathedrals, Towers, Dungeons, Mills, Moats, ...
Sims
Monks, Knights, Peasants, Peerage, Royalty, Merchants, Indentured Servants, Inn Keepers, Priests, Painters, Sculptors, Musicians, Minstrels, Bakers, Black Smiths, Farmers, Explorers, Apothecaries, Nuns, Serving Wenches, Laundress, Brewers, Nurse Maids, ...
Animals:
Cats, mules, horses, chickens, pigs, goats, rats, ...
Animations:
Jousting, Sword Fighting, Archery, Hammering Armor, Forging Steel, Pushing a Grinding Wheel, Manning a Trebuchet, Boiling Oil (hehe), Preparing Potions, Making Beer and Wine, Hunting, Embroidery, Weaving,...
Objects:
(there's so many--where to begin?)...
Clothes:

That medieval concept art looks more like stuff for Ambition (only clothing as far as I can see, and pretty similar to what I see in Ambitions). The medieval village is likely a concept for World Adventures (France).
These are the images they were talking about:

Where is any other proof of this rumor? The sketches on the German site could have been done by anybody, and even if they are official, they're probably sketches for when the medieval stuff was released in the store.
I highly doubt this will be it's own expansion or stuff pack, at LEAST not with JUST a medieval angle. Now, if they were planning an actual time travelling pack, that'd be one thing, but just medieval stuff...?? Unlikely.

I just can't imagine there being a time travel EP though. They would either have to: 1) require ambitions so that the time machine could be invented 2) provide another method of getting a time machine other than inventing, or 3) add in a different method of time travel. And I can't imagine them changing the time machine that dramatically anyway. It would be really cool and very different, though, so who knows.

Here's (http://thesims2store.ea.com/productList.html?scategoryId=10751&categoryId=10658&sourceid=ts2news) the TS2 Castle set, and here's (http://thesims2store.ea.com/productList.html?scategoryId=10668&categoryId=10658) the Medieval set that came with TS2 University, for those who were wondering about that.
I didn't even know there was a TS2 store. Or maybe I just blacked it out.
Yes, there was, but not as milking as the TS3 Store.

If they did, that would be awesome! I love old-fashion clothes and stuff, so I really hope they bring Castaway Sims. I'm more interested in the medieval era and Castaway to play them. =)
