I know that there are creators who use the website 3dmodelfree.com --*somehow*--to create objects in TS3. My question is: HOW?
I went to the site, and they have a lot of objects there that I KNOW I myself downloaded as items (even here) from different Sims creators--toys, dinosaurs, animals (decor objects). How do I download one of their models and put it in my game as an object I created?
Help is GREATLY appreciated!

Start here Tutorials:TS3_Basic_HowTo_Mesh_Guide. But be warned many of those objects may have very high poly counts and may slow down your computer as they are not designed for Sims games.

Okay, totally stuck. Maybe I'm just too tech-stupid. I don't understand how this works: I went to the site, saw a model I liked, dl'd, and opened the folder. Now I've got a ton of .max files looking me in the face that photoshop, gimp, milkshape, simPE, sim3pe and object tool won't recognize or even open. So I went and got 3ds Max 2010 32 & 64 bit. It opens just fine there. I can see the object clearly.
How do I get it into my Sims game?
Do I need some sort of plugin? Where would I put it?
Sorry, but I'm just totally confused. :(

Do the tutorial as written that HL linked you to - make something simple like a table first. Then you'll know the basics of how to get an object in-game. You can then use 3DS Max to import the object, export it as an .obj, and import it into Milkshape to do the jointing.
