View Full Version : Partial transparency problem
24th Jul 2010, 08:57 AM
I've been trying to convert some objects from sims3 to sims 2 and I've now moved onto objects with a partially transparent texture. I've been experimenting with the vase and managed to get the leaves to appear right by setting the default texture blending to 'blend,' but it also caused part of the vase to turn invisible or the leaves to show through it.
I tried to follow the Object Recolouring Tutorial but I'm afraid the pictures are unavailable and it was a bit too difficult to follow for me
Thanks in advance

This is happening because your package only has one subset, sculpturechinavase_design, and you have set the entire TXMT to blend. This is causing the transparent part, the leaves, to bleed into the solid parts. You can cure this by making the leaves or the vase part a subset of it's own. Set the leaves subset to blend and the vase part to none. Here's a link to a tutorial for adding a subset to your package, http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=103379 .
EDIT: I selected and made the leaves a separate group in the mesh. I followed the tutorial that I linked and changed the shell subset blend mode to none and the leaves part to blend. The attached pic shows my results. I think this is what you want?

That's perfect. Thank you so much and sorry I couldn't find it myself ^^
