its so stupid. my sim has a girlfriend in college, and she doesnt age with him. its like this is just a big dream during his college years. is there anyway i can make them both age together, graduate at the same time and then live with each other as adults, have kids and move on with their lives together? and i have all the expansion packs. they are also engaged btw

What do you mean, she doesn't age with him? Sims do not age while at University.

of course i know that. but i have read online that no one but ur sim ages. so pretty much i assume that the NPC's are stuck in their age forever unless i do something about it. now that i read your post, i would like to know, can i actually get both my sim and his girlfriend to marry eachother after college?

So your sim is engaged to another Uni sim that is not playable? You will have to move them in together by having him propose>move in, then you will play her through Uni and graduate or drop out. She will then be an adult and all the privies that go with it.

Wickedblue is right. Also, you can only age townies or certain NPC's, I think. For sure townies, dunno about NPC's.

Wait,i doing this before.
My playable sim graduate from collage and move to the neighborhood in Adult stage, then my sim call his Girlfriend from collage and make her Grow up to Adult stage with boolprop and proposing her.
Happy Ending! (with Cheat) :)

If she's already an NPC then when your sim becomes an adult he can ask her to move in with him, that will force her to graduate and age up to adult.

Hmm... looks like there's other solutions. If only I knew these when I tried to get Ashley Pitts out of college!

There's a distinction between Uni non-playables (dormies and default secret society members) and playables like Ashley Pitts. For the dormies/ss members, the absolute best way to bring them into the main hood is el_flel's in post 8: invite the YA to move in, and s/he will become an adult with all the benefits of having graduated Uni (i.e., 6 want slots, 2 lockable).
For YAs who are playable residents in a dorm or house -- even if you are not playing that dorm/house -- you either need to cheat (per Mortimer's recommendation in post 7) or enter the Uni lot where they live and have them drop out of college.
ETA: Excellent point, Alexandra. The dormie "graduates" if the inviting adult is also a Uni grad. Otherwise, the dormie "drops out" and doesn't get any Uni benefits.

According to my Prima guide, if your Sim dropped out, if you have that dormie move in, they drop out too. Or something like that.

The one time I tried to have an adult invite a Uni NPC to move in, it didn't go smoothly at all and even though the one inviting him had graduated it showed him as a drop-out.
Now, I just do it the way I mentioned before, inviting them to move in while my playable is still at Uni. It's far less complicated than what I had to go through to get him to move in after she had graduated. If it's supposed to work that way then there was obviously something wrong with my game.
ETA: Also, when I went back to the Uni hood, the guy I had just aged up to an adult and married my sim, was still at Uni as a young adult. He showed up in the dorm and I nearly lost it. So I assumed that this was not the proper way to manage this scenario and never tried it again. :anime:

He would have still been in the dorm if he had been there when you last saved the lot. But he should have been an adult. Once the game detached him from his dorm room, one of your playable YAs should have been able to say goodbye to get him to leave.

He wasn't a resident of the dorm. He showed up as a visitor and I made him selectable to see what was going on and it showed him as a student. I lost that entire neighborhood shortly after so now I realize that was probably just another symptom of doom. I had just assumed at the time that this was not the proper way and haven't done it since. Now that I know, I might try it again to see what happens. :)

I did it the "invite after graduation" way when my sim was back in the main hood: she was in love with the Llama Mascot, invited him to move in and he automatically aged up. I DID have to alter his appearance to get rid of the head though!
Unfortunately he aggravated me so much by walking into every house in the neighbourhood (especially those with children) without being invited, I had no option but to kill him off... it meant his lover had a breakdown but I needed to save my sanity... what's left of it!
