Help with Investigator Case

Hi everyone
I need help with a case. My sim is an investigator and on level 8. He has to solve a case by going to City Hall and call the cops from there, but the corrupt polititian must be at City Hall for my sim to call the cops. Days have now passed and I can't get the crook to come to city hall. I let my sim wait at city hall every day but this crook does not show up at all. Please help with advise on how to solve this case. Ps. Sorry if the grammar is not correct. English is not my native language.

Lure the target there yourself by getting them to follow you there.

Thanks. Already tried lureing him by visiting him but even if he is home he won't let me in. Also I have call him and invited him over so I can take a tour of city hall with him but that also did not work. He will say I will be right over and then he never pitched up. I made my poor sim tour city hall for a whole day in the hope that mr crook will show up but he just didn't show up. I even had my sims wife call him and invite him over but that also did not work. I hope I can finish this case now. I don't want to cancel the case.

When invited over, does he then give the "Something just came up" message, even though he's not doing anything? That's a bug fixed in AwesomeMod.

Hi everyone

Just to let you know that I solved the case I was struggling with. The problem was this:

I am playing on a world which I downloaded from some website. There is a farm on this world map and the crook and his

family lives on this farm. The whole family was stuck in a barn and could not get out to go to work or anyplace else. I

had to use the testingcheatsenabled cheat to get them out of the barn. The next morning my investigator sim could finish

the case at city hall without any problems.

Hahaha I laughed at the barn part too. It makes you wonder how did they get in there in the first place? Maybe there was a hit out for the crook and someone deleted the only door to the barn. Classic sim kill - being walled in. ;)

They're all like the creepy folk in "The Hills Have Eyes" or "The Wrong Turn" but you can't blame them... look at all that toxic sludge being poored into the swamp. Yum.

I am having the same issue that the original poster had, except in my case the politician is not trapped anywhere. He is going to work every day at 1:00... I actually SEE him walk into City Hall... but for some strange reason I am unable to call the cops on him. After he walks into City Hall, I click on the option to "confront the criminal" and it says that he needs to get here first... but he's already here!

I have tried doing stakeouts when he arrives, touring City Hall when he is in the building, and even inviting him to meet me at City Hall (which he is happy to do - we have even toured City Hall together). But the option to "confront the criminal" is still greyed out - it keeps telling me that I need to wait for him to show up first.

I don't understand. Is there some way of just "cheating" out of this and closing the case by bypassing this glitch?

i am having another issue with one of my sims investigator cases. i am level 6 and to complete the step of my opportunity i have to ask two of VJ Alvi's family members about his past relationships. i have already asked Iqbal Alvi and thats all ok, but my problem is the the only other member of his family is Miraj Alvi and i presume due to him being a child, i cannot seem to ask him. when i click on him, instead of there being the usual option of "ask about sim" there is just the normal interaction list (friendly, funny, mean, special)
please help me as i really don't want to abandon the case and please don't suggest a cheat because this is the only sims games where i haven't used them and i would like to keep it that way.

I don't think it has to be a family member. I remember when I got a case like that. I just randomly clicked a sim (not a family member of the sim) and to my surprise the interaction was there. Try looking for some sims and clicking them to see if that works.
