Ringtones. Yes?

Inspired by the songs stuck in you head thread. :bunny:

Ive been want Maxwell's Silver Hammer by the Beatles as my ringtone for the looongest time, but my provider isnt supported by most of the ringtone companies. Most of those are horribly shady anyway.

So what songs do you want people to hear when your called?
Why? What songs do you already have? If you dont buy ringtones, is their a song you would pay for because you like it so much/reflects you?

Currently I have 1234 by Feist as my default, a Panic! At the disco song as my Alarm, The Japanese version of Popular from Wicked for people I dont know, and Monster by Lady Gaga for my man. xP
It was 5 for half off. I havent got anymore songs since. Not big on ringtones mi self.

When I got my phone my husband gave me all the tracks on his phone and I can't be bothered getting new ones.

My current ringtone is Shy FX - Plastic Soul. I like it because it has a mellow and chilled out start and I don't want people to get a sudden shock when my phone rings!

A lot of the songs I want people to hear when I called have a quiet start so they don't work as ringtones (e.g. Q Project - Champion Sound, Roni Size - Brown Paper Bag, David Bowie - Changes, High Contrast - Make it Tonight, LTJ Bukem - Atlantis).

My man set Shy FX - Shake your Body as his his ringtone on my phone... but someone recently told him it sounds like Sex and the City!

I make my own ringtones, then upload them to my phone via text message. Currently I have a GLEE theme. All my ringtones and alert tones are GLEE songs.

Ringtones. No. I don't believe in the notion. I don't like phones where there are so many other features the telephonic abilities are an afterthought. That said, I have tried to dabble with the ringtone thing a couple times and it's always felt like more headache than it's worth. Just let my phone sound like a phone when it rings.

I get new ringtones all the time for free. I haven't bothered making any for a while though... This site is great and makes ringtones easily and then either sends them to your phone or you can use your phone browser to download them.... http://www.ventones.com/

My ringtone is the classic Mario Bros. theme...yeah, pretty awesome! Not planning on changing it anytime soon since it matches perfectly with my gamer personality. :D

I make my own ringtones or my brother makes them for me as he's very good at this kind of stuff. =)
My current one is Darth Vader's Theme (The Imperial March) from Star Wars. It sound pretty cool and I'm not planning to change it any time soon.

Oh yeah I had that ringtone for ages and it was perfect!

For a while I also had the theme to Get Smart which was also very effective.

But nothing beats the Imperial March.

Well my cellphone is silenced most of the time, and when it's not, people tend to use BBM to contact me rather than call, so whatever song I set for my ringtone doesn't really matter

My ringtone is the Mario theme since I am such a nerd. Almost everyone I know has a rap song for their ringtone :faceslap:. My sister once had Oingo Boingos Little Girls for a ringtone.

Haha. I had the Mario theme for my ring-tone on my first phone! It was polyphonic. And apparently is popular. :)

My phone plan is with Vodaphone in Australia and there was a link stored on my phone to get more ringtones, and got it from there. If it's popular though, I'm sure multiple places have it.

I always set my phone to vibrate, as I normally have it on my bedside table so it makes lots of noise because it's vibrating on a wooden surface! If I'm out I don't really mind if I miss a call, I just call whoever it was back, or text them. I often have it on silent anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Having said which, I'd quite like the Llama Song as my ringtone. That reflects me just perfectly. Because it's silly, and awesome, and about llamas.

My phone is almost always on vibrate at the moment, but my ringtone is the X-Files theme tune. It always creeps me out to hear my phone ringing. My best friend has it as her ringtone too, and we play this childish game in which we ring each other at the most awkward moments to try to embarrass the other. I've been meaning to change it, but I can't decide what to change it to.
