Hello,

I just installed Late Night and have been playing successfully, but there are no cache files to delete either in my Sims 3 file or in Dashboard. I am so used to deleting these files after every time I play, it seems weird that they are not there anymore. I have a lot of cc in my game, which has been working for now in Bridgeport (we'll see how long that lasts)...and I am afraid that it will start crashing if I cannot delete cache files. But where are they? Help please and thank you.

I should mention that I have the base game, WA, HELS, Ambitions, and now Late Night. I have the most recent patch. I have the most recent updates of the Dashboard and the Framework Installer. I play on 64-bit Windows 7. The Dashboard says I do not have Late Night installed even though I do, and the Framework Installer does not have Late Night yet. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, firstly you really don't need to delete cache files every time you play - doing so just slows everything down. Secondly, have you run the game to check whether the files regenerate? Have you quadruple checked that you're looking in Documents not Program Files? If you make a custom sim and save it to the bin, does its file appear in SavedSims?

Sorry if this sounds dumb but how do I know if the files regenerate? I haven't tried saving a custom sim to the bin...will do so next time I play. And I definitely quadruple checked that I am looking in Documents, not Program files.

Is it possible for you to post a screenshot of your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder?

If the files regenerate, then they'll be there. :)

Here's a screenshot...hope I did this right...the SigsCache and WorldCache folders are empty.

Okay, well, they're probably in that folder, just... you have to scroll down. :)

OK so I made a "test" custom sim and he is not in my Saved Sims file. Only sims I have downloaded are in that file...none that I have made in CAS. And I just found out that I am having CAS problems too but I think I will start a new thread for that...

Keep to one thread. The issues may be related.

Do all your saved games still show up? Your CC all still works? If you rename your My Docs/EA/The Sims 3 folder to something like "The Sims 3 backup", then run the game and save a sim to the bin, does the sim show up in the new SavedSims folder?

CC all works, saved games still show up, everything is fine...it seems like I fixed the "new" CAS problem by deleting some mods I forgot I had that I didn't really need anyway, but that didn't make the custom sim appear in the saved sims file. To be honest, I don't think any of my custom sims ever have appeared in the saved sims file...only ones I download. I will try your renaming suggestion though and see if that works...
