View Full Version : Updating/removing mods in merged modpacks in s3pe

Some time ago, I got hold of s3pe and started to merge my mods in packs for easy access and quicker load times. However, I made the huge mistake of including in my BuyMode mod pack, all those hacked objects like MagicMoodManager, SimTransformer, Book Of Talent and so on.

Obviously, with the newer EP and patchs out, most didn't work properly or at all, causing glitches and crashes. Having deleted all the separate mods, what to do?

EDIT: I created this thread, but well, the answer came to me in less than 10 seconds after doing so....I know its kinda dumb, but I'll leave it here if someone needs it.

Updating existing mods in a modpack:
First, launch s3pe, create a new package and import your existing modpack alone.
Then, click import again and this time import the updated version of the single mod you're have trouble with. Check "Replace duplicates".
Save package.

Deleting existing mods in a modpack:
Do the same steps above, except that when importing the updated version, just import the same version you have. No need to save. Now, just import the mod AGAIN. You'll see that at the end of the list lies the references for the mod you just imported, and the "replaced" references from the earlier import. Delete these both and save.

The 2 imports are mainly to save time looking for the replaced refs in huge modpacks like mine and to help in finding when a mod "starts and ends" in the modpack.

I hope this helps.

Isn't it part of the merging guide that mods be excluded? *shrugs
