Mixology Question

Ok, so I searched for an answer and either it's not there or I'm more exhausted than I think I am and glossed right over it. If it's the second option then I apologize for a double posty thing. :)

I built a dance club in Twinbrook and there is never a mixologist on duty. I've built clubs in Bridgeport and never had an issue with an absent drink tender, so this is a new issue to me. Any ideas what causes this and maybe a way to fix it? My suburbs need tasty drinks! :)

Also, does your Sim have to be at a certain skill level to be able to moonlight as a mixologist?

Do you have apartments available for them? I ask because on another forum, we found the simmer had no apartments for them to live in that world. Guess they can't go homeless?

I made sure there were highrises in all the worlds I plop down clubs in. Maybe that is why I don't have that problem.

I've currently got 3 highrises, but I believe only the one I'm playing in has residents at the moment. Hmmm...maybe I should place some smaller ones around town just in case.

I placed The Grind in Barnacle Bay and converted the meeting place next to the Bistro into a local bar. In both places mixologists showed up and worked and I don't have any apartments there. So, I guess your issue is due to something else.
Do you have MasterController? Under "Type of Sim" you can check via the Town Hall menu whether the game has generated a mixologist or not. There are two different types, however, the ones you can hire on the phone for your home and the ones that are supposed to work in town.

No Master Controller. Hmmm....like I said, I've done the create a club thing in Bridgeport with no problems. Maybe I have to have my sim hang around for a while and see if the bar populates itself over time. There were only about 5 people there anyway...my two sims and maybe 3 or 4 others on the dance floor. No bouncer, come to think of it.

Bouncers will only show up if you have the ropes. Also, I seem to recall that you need to place the proper bar in your club, or the mixologist won't show. IE: Dive Edition vs. Profesional Juice Bar.

Ah, that answers the bouncer issue...forgot the ropes. :) As far as the bar I used the most expensive one on the list...can't recall the name of it at the moment. Since I built the club myself, I cleared off the spot and changed the location type to Community and chose Dance Club.

I had the same problem with no Mixologist.

I bulldozed the lot and put it back down again. Not only does the Mixologist now show up but it's also a Hotspot.

I'm playing a world with no highrises atm, and I got mixologists spawning left, right and centre... probably because I was trying to assign my self-made mixologists.. You might wanna try Twallan's Register mod (http://www.the-isz.com/nraas/index.php?topic=73.0) that lets you actually assign someone to each bar, rope, till etc.

Went back and played on my off nights and found that apparently it was an issue with that particular dance club I made. The others work perfectly fine. *shrug* Bulldozed the club and put an apartment shell on it. :)
