Hi there.

It's been a while since I came here to MTS so, please, be nice

So I started to build a house - and I'm completely psyched with it - but now I came across with a problem I always come across with whenever I try to build modular U-stairs: I don't seem to be able to use tiles on the 2nd floor - or whatever you call the process of putting the "floor" on the 2nd floor.

I'm trying to build my house following this plan:

See the red-circled area? That's where I'm having all those issues.

Here are some screenshots: (please click on the pictures)

The red squares are where I'd like to place the tiles but I'm unable to. I thought a column would solve it, but it seems I can place tiles over there but I'm unable to connect those tiles with the tiles I placed when building the stairs.

Can you help me? I'd love to see this solved... I think it has to do with how I built the stairs, so is there any other way of building stairs that doesn't have these "side-effects"?

You need walls there in order to place tiles, you can delete these after the fact. Or is it because the second floor isn't leveled there because of using CFE?

It is probably a combination of both, not having support and being unlevel will prevent you from placing floor there. However if you build a wall or two underneath the tiles like omegastarr82 said (with CFE false) then that will provide the support and level the floor and should allow you to place your flooring of choice.

I guess that was it. So I just had to level the entire the second floor and it was over?

Before you posted I found another way of building the stairs and it worked (I followed plasticbox's tutorial (http://www.modthesims.info/article.php?t=358677)), here's the result:

Anyway, thanks to you both :) now I hope I manage to make this house look good. :anime:
