View Full Version : Solved - Creating or Editing a Push Interaction

I've cloned the campfire that came with BV to use as the base for a patio fire pit because I like the interactions that come with it better than the fireplace. But as soon as a sim lights the fire they're "pushed" to sit at the campfire and since I'm using this on a patio I'd rather they not automatically sit down.

I tried just deleting that line from the BHAV and that worked but when the sim is done lighting the fire they jump back a bit and stand there looking stupid. So I thought if I "pushed" the sim to do the warm hands interaction in place of the sit at campfire one it might fix the jumping and awkward ending animation. Does that seem like the best way to try and resolve my issue?

If it is, can anyone help me out or point me in the direction of a specific tutorial? I think I need to create a Push - Warm hands to replace the Push - Sit at campfire and then I can edit the Interaction - Light Fire BHAV to point to that instead. It seems like it would be simple to do and try out just to see what happens but I'm pretty clueless as to how I would go about doing that even after reading some tutorials.

I've attached some pics of the BHAV's I think I'd need to change in case what I've written doesn't make any sense. :p Any help is appreciated!

In the "Push - Sit at campfire" bhav, you should only need a slight tweak to the node "[prim 0x000D] Push Interaction (Target: Stack Object, Object: Param 0x0000, Interaction: Literal 0x0003, .......". The interaction number (which I put in bold) in the Push Interaction node refers to the interaction number in the Pie Menu Functions IIRC. So, "Warm Hands" would be 0x5. Just change the first operand from 3 to 5 (or 05000201000A00000A00000A00000001 in the Pop-up Raw entry box).

Perfect, MSD! The animations looks great and now that I know where some of those numbers are coming from it makes it so much easier to read the BHAV's and understand what's going on.

Great! It's always a good feeling when things work like you want them to. :)
