I've never actually downloaded a skin before. Looked at them, drooled over them, but was scared away and ended up just looking at blahhh default skins.

...until today!

Was tooling 'round LadyFrontbum's site and decided I wanted to try out the busty st. claire skins. However, I didn't want to install them as defaults. No problem, says I, I'll just follow the instructions for installing them as non-default skins. But then I had to click on this link...

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=389680

...which sent me back here (of course! where it all happens! good ole' mts2/3.) and it gives me the message that I'm not allowed to access that page for some reason. "Blocked." >_<;

I searched for about ten or fifteen minutes for "custom skin mod" and "custom skintones mod" and other combinations of the like but frankly I'm not that creative so please don't excommunicate me if I missed something obvious.

Where is the mod? I'm confused. I went to Rez's page here and it's like "Nope! Don't know what you're talking about! Only one download here by this person! Just the freckles mod thing!" which leads me to conclude that the mod was deleted??

Does this mean that the mod is no longer useful, that the latest released EP/game patch has "fixed" the bug that EA built into the game initially? ( -__- like, you know, not being able to see custom skins, that is. grrr.) Has it been causing tons of problems with a recent patch? Has the user gone to the dark side and paysites?! Or is it somewhere else on the site, under a completely different name, and I'm just not enough of a ferret to find it?

Inquiring minds want to know. :report: I saw more than one confused comment on LF's site but she hasn't made a post since like last year apparently.

Thanks for any help!

Yes indeed - since the 1.17 patch/LN EP, you don't need a mod. Just scroll through the skin dots with your mousewheel. :)

There is an updated version of that mod, available on some obscure site god knows where, just in case you're using a laptop touchpad. Or a nipple. If you are... someone else will know the link, I'm sure :p .

HAHAHA actually I am using one. A touchpad, that is. :P

I mean, I do have a USB mini mouse but I'm so used to just plonking down wherever I feel like it and using the computer, regardless of the proximity of a desk. Makes using a mouse kinda difficult.

Hmmm. So I just download the skins, then. Is there any special place I need to put the files? Will they just come as .package files and I can just throw them in with the rest? :rolleyes: (in ya go, the more the merrier!) Or is that a question for another thread/forum?

I'm using a touchpad too, liltingbreeze! I just discovered that if you run your finger down the very right side of the touchpad, it scrolls just like the wheel of a mouse. I thought I was just stuck with default skins until I figured that out. xD But it works that way! (And you should just be able to plonk those skins in with the rest of your .package files in your Mods folder, and they'll work just fine!)

Yup, that's what I was told to do as well, for my laptop. I have an HP Pavilion, and so my touchpad has this elongated oval-like mark in the far right, near the edge. You just slide your finger up and down over it, and you get this popup on your cursor going up and down. That's when you know you're scrolling correctly--at least on mine. ;) It works; I've got dozens of CC skins in my game, from Subaxi, Lemonleaf, and Lady Frontbum--my 3 favorites :lovestruc

I could never get my ND skins to show up either. Everyone told me to "Roll the mouse wheel and you'll scroll through them". I guess I have a hardware issue because mine simply would NOT scroll. I had 6 circles (4 of which had white dots on their edges) and no matter what I did I couldn't see any more than 6 skins. A few minutes ago I found a bunch of Anach's personal mods Here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17647.0.html). If you look at the list, the 11th one down is called "Anach_CASSkins6x4_1.22" and it gives you a 24-slot box for skins. I loaded that sucker up and now instead of 6 skins, I have 22! All of my default skins are back, plus 16 more. I had NO IDEA I had that many. My point is, if your mouse wheel doesn't scroll your ND skins like it should, this is a work-around. I've had mouse wheel issues in the past. I use a wireless mouse and sometimes it doesn't do everything it should.
