Hi: I wanna say that I've been doing recoloring& bumpmapping for about since sims1 & most of the time I'm happy with the result however i think that maybe I don't have enough skills or how should I say. Maybe there are many techniques & I'm only aware of the few. Yes I've read thru some tutorials here at MTs but no further. I would imagine there's quite a few out there which I'm not aware of. you see i notice that my bumb mapping looks & appears good only under certain light conditions & none under others. Another word it seems to completly vanish if the light hit the sim standing infront of the light& having a light in the background. Is this normal or it's my technique. I like to hear from those of you that can point me out to some technique or a tutorial that teaches several altenative of bumpmapping instead of just one. Thanks for help. BTW, I'm a GIMP user. :turtle: :Pint:

Can you give some examples of your bumpmapping you're having problems with - pics of the bump map itself and the in-game shots? Honestly, there's so much variation in bump mapping and the way they can be done, it'd probably be easier to tell you better ways to do the ones you're doing than to explain it in general.
