About halfway through loading my town, i get an error that says:
Exception Raised
Unhandled Page Fault on read access to 0x00000 at address 0x00ce2lb9
Do you wish to debug?
Yes or No
I've clicked both, both end my game.
I've looked everywhere for an answer.
I'm running a macbook pro. I have all min. requirements for the game.
I never had this problem before installing Generations.
I just want to play dammnit, for the amount of money i've spent.
Can anyone help?

I Haven't bought Generations yet, but when I downloaded the new patch the same thing happened to me (Exception Raised blabla)
It's sooo annoying! I've read like every single thread on google about this.. And everyone with the same prob got it after buying Generations or downloading the latest patch.
I do hope that EA fix this or else they're going to loose one of the biggest sims nerd in the world ..lol :help:

I got Generations yesterday. Installed, updated to the latest patch, played for about 3-4hrs, then saved and quit. Today, when I tried to play, I also get the:
Exception Raised
Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000000 at address 0x727dle63
Do you wish to debug?
The game instantly crashes after clicking either Yes or No.
I'm also on a Macbook Pro. Is this error due to playing on a Mac or is it just the patch?
This royally sucks!

Did you guys update to the latest patch?

Hilaryep, i haven't even been able to patch yet and have this problem. So it's not the patch. i've been trying to patch my game but i'm having problems with that. I was hoping the patch would solve this problem but i guess it doesn't, so i have no idea what the hell to do. I'm frustrated to the point that i'm thinking about giving up on the sims 3 altogether. the sims 2 was so much simpler and had less problems!

I am having the same problem too, and I have never seen this before today. Just got my game working with the most recent patch, and everything runs fine, but when I open the new memories scrapbook (comes with generations but also comes included as part of the patch) it gives me a similar error, exceptions raised, blah blah. Choosing No or Yes both gives the same result--the game closes down and brings me back to the desktop. I have already racked up several memories, so it seems (in my case at least) that the error is triggered only by going to the memory scrapbook.
Hopefully somebody can figure this out, or maybe EA will even fix it? I'll be annoyed if I can collect all these memories but not even view them. I haven't installed Generations yet, hopefully when I do (it is shipping to my house as I write this) the problem will fix itself.
EDIT: This (http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/6723/errorscreenshot.png) is what I am talking about. Either choosing Yes or No is a crapshoot. It poops me straight back out at my desktop, leaving me currently with no way to view memories.

As soon as I installed Generations and the patch, my game started crashing. I'm really mad. I'm thinking about just fresh installing everything, except for generations. I'll keep an ear to the ground for a patch or something, but until then I can live without treehouses and childhood pranks >.<
Of course, we'll see if it is in fact generations that's causing this problem. And yes, I remember TS2 being MUCH more stable.

Are all of you having this Exception Raised error on a Mac? Which OS X version?
And you're starting the game via the Launcher?
And you patched to 1.22 series? For base game only or all the packs?

For everyone with this issue, can you please test with a fresh set of user files- rename your Documents\ Electronic Arts\ The Sims 3 folder to OLDThe sims 3.
Also, I remember seeing this problem with Mac users on Spore- it was caused by Time Machine Backups, so it's worth seeing if you can find a connection there.

@ellacharm3d: Yes, I am experiencing this on my Mac. I have the latest Macbook Pro, it's less than a year old and has always ran my game relatively fine before, but if EA has taught me anything by not releasing some of their content for Mac, it's that apparently The Sims is favorably for PC. I would assume other people having this problem are using Macs as well, but then again, you know what they say about people who assume...
Yes, I am starting through the launcher. I have never had to bypass it...should I be?
I patched the latest update released a couple of days ago, but from what I can gather, it made the game a hopeless mess. EA released another manual installation to fix their blunder and attempt to keep away angry mobs, and after installing that I have had no problems other then this error. The link to their manual fix is HERE. (http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5269/showhome/true)
@simsample: I already reset cache files and removed all custom content, but I will try again resetting caches and then removing my user files. Maybe it is just my files that are corrupted I guess? Geez, apparently EA can't do much of anything right...I miss the good old days of Maxis!
And no, I am not backing up saves with Time Machine. I did read that solved it for Spore users, but that can't possibly be the case for me, since I only back up my save files manually. Now that I think about it, I don't even use Time Machine...hrrmmm...
mariomaster101
2nd Jun 2011, 06:17 PM
Holy cow, that did the trick! I made a fresh, completely vanilla SV by resetting the user files, and I am now able to browse my memory scrapbook with no problem at all.
Before this, I was in the middle of playing Riverview, and I had removed any CC that would be problematic...any mods or game fixes. I replaced the Nraas Overwatch and Nraas Mastercontroller because last I checked, they had already been updated for Generations. I also removed Awesomemod, since last time I checked, that is not ready yet. That left me with a few CC items, pretty much just conversions of Sims 2 paintings. Should i try going back to run Riverview with no CC whatsoever?
I didn't think it would be something trivial causing a problem, but now that I think about it, I think I reset my caches, then when the game errored again, I got rid of CC and tried again...which means the caches would not have been fresh since the game replaced them before i removed CC...

Yeah, I just found out what was causing my crash as well.
Since it always crashed after a while of decorating, I decided to save more often. So I got to the point where I had to just make one bathroom before finishing the whole house up, and it kept crashing after a few minutes of game play.
Turns out it was a small mirror, downloaded from TSR I think, that caused all my pain. Removed it and I've played without getting the same error since. I do experience the whole game freezing up after two or three hours, and it's generally rather slow -- but it's not crashing every time I try to place that mirror anymore.
Still, EA should really focus on making a native Mac OS X application. Cider is just crappy, and it's not like we're not paying enough for the games.

EA should really focus on getting their products worth buying, either Mac or Windows. There has never been such an annoying product as sims 3 and their expantions... I'm thinking of uninstalling everything and get back my old and wonderful sims 2... :|
Sorry EA, but don't rush up anymore. We prefer waiting for functional expantions instead of getting them asap without being able to play them.

mariomaster101, you can try your savegame again but keep a safe backup of it. Also, remember that some mods inject code into the save game or otherwise alter it, so need to be safely uninstalled. Awesome and Twallan's Register are two I can think of. So, beware that you have any incompatible mods removed correctly.
henrikc and waterjay- The Sims games may be buggy, but EA do make a good effort to correct these bugs. The problem is that most bug reports they get through their technical support or forum are unreliable, as users are playing with custom content/ mods. This thread is a good example, an error is seemingly caused or at least exacerbated by third party modifications. And, from what I've seen, the EA Cider version of Sims 3 seems much better than the Aspyr versions of The Sims 2 were.

This literally just happened to me after I just finished one of the longest decorating periods ever. I am so mad. I just installed Generations/OLS a few hours ago. Well, I would start by opening up the launcher, scrolling through the installed content and delete whatever is reported as "<unknown"
My mirror causing that trouble reported as "<unknown", and even though it'll take it's time (why can't you sort there, for example? It wouldn't be hard to implement, and would make troubleshooting much easier), it's worth a shot.

3rd Jun 2011, 11:26 PM
I'm going to uninstall all of my custom content including sims3packs, then only download from the store and here. And no mods unless they say they're compatible with generations. Hopefully that will solve my problem.
Edit: Whatever was causing was a mod/ corrupted object. It used to happen when I opened settings, but it doesn't anymore. I literally hit "Select all" and "uninstall" in the launcher, and went back and re-downloaded a few sets from the store. All I have in the mods folder is Morphead's High End Condo Stuff and a few skins, and some of FP's Cars. This was actually good for me to start over with CC because the game was getting way too slow. So I suggest that for a solution. It's hard to get rid of your CC, but it's for the best. OH and you should start a new game after erasing all of the CC.

I've been having this problem too. It's happened three times to me. One while save/exiting, once when I tried to look at someone's memories and the other time just during play (not sure what triggered that one). I was able to play for a couple of hours or more before it happened though. After looking at this forum yesterday afternoon and seeing that the only real solution anyone seems to have found is to start over I was going to go ahead and keep playing and be careful to save every few minutes. But the crash last night when I tried to look at some memories seems to have completely corrupted my Sims 3 folder. I can get as far as the loading screen after I choose the town I want to play but it doesn't load at all there.
As Simsample suggested above I moved my Sims 3 folder out of Documents/EA and the game loaded up just fine. So I'm sure I've got some corrupted CC. I wonder if there is something different about how Generations for OS X handles CC than it did before that is causing corruptions. Because I took out all CC while installing Generations and then only put back in the stuff that generally doesn't need to be updated for EPs like clothes and hair. I left out all Mods or tuning files to wait for updates on them. As far as I know, before installing Generations, all my CC was fine. At least it wasn't causing crashes.
I guess I will try starting over with a clean game and add limited CC (I have to at least have some decent hair!). But I have a feeling the same thing is going to start happening again when I add CC. Maybe a future patch will address the issue as it seems to be somewhat widespread on Macs, judging by this forum. Seems like Generations is the buggiest EP yet. At least it has been for me.

I'm having this problem too with my sims 3 game (I have all ep's). I've allready tried deleting all my mods and re-installing the game, this wouldn't work for me. Should I try deleting áll of my downloads?
Edit: I removed all my dowloads but I still get the problem, even after making an entirely new game.

This game seems very fragile as to how you install something. I installed the patch and kept getting the "there's a new update available" via the launcher. I decided to UNinstall then reinstall. I assumed that since the new patch was version 1.22... (BG related) that everything would be fine. Things don't seem fine when you install out of order (so thanks EA).
So, after reinstalling via these steps (using "Alternate Method"):
http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_PatchingEPSP
Everything now works fine. However, I did have to do some "mod" removal and updates. Now, the game runs flawless. So, if anyone feels the need to follow suit....

And again, clicking both yes or no shuts the game down!!

Hello, Same problem here with the same issue, for me it happens if I try to customise anything if it has a pattern that is in the 'miscellaneous' bin while decorating. Also in 'cas' if some outfit has a pattern that is in that bin, then everything just freezes and I have to shut down the computer. Also after the error message and "do you want to debug?" question, my screen goes black, and I have to shut down and reboot. I have done the 'userfiles' replacement thing and it does work for a while but as it is too horrible to play the game without the cc I slowly put it all back in and it all happens again. There must be something in a lot of the cc that is conflicting with this new ep. My daughter, also having the same problems and getting 'bald sim' syndrome as well, has deleted quite a few of her saved sims, and got her hair back! As long as she doesn't try to customise anything with patterns in the misc. bin she can play okay on her family. For me, I like to build, so it's more of a problem, as, if we click on anything that has a misc.pattern the game freezes. Maybe that might help some of you. Another issue that i have identified is that Sims3 Pack hairs work okay, ie, Newsea hairs but as soon as I put any hair in package files into my Mods folder the game will not load and I get the 'exception raised' error message. It does not seem to like a lot of 'wall' packages, some 'build' packages stop it loading as well. I have removed almost all of my '.package' files that are not clothes or cas related. I am assuming now that its probably a good idea to use Sims 3 Packs cc where possible, although I am not ruling out that a lot of the Sims 3 Packs might be causing problems as well. I have also noticed that I have to remove my 'Mods' folder before trying to put anything new into the 'Downloads' folder so that may be a help to someone too. I am on a MacBook Pro 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running OSX 6.7

I had this problem too, after I manually patched to 1.22. I have figured out that some of my mods are causing the problem. Remove your mods completely, if it works, exit out and place 1/4 of your mods at a time, testing. If it happens again, you know you have a problem mod or two. If all else fails, open applications. Go to utilities, and open console. Take a screenshot of all your errors, and send an email to EA with your problem and the Errors.

You know what I even got the error today, I have reinstalled everything yesterday on a new account (MAC) not on the admin's account any more, because that gave me another error.
I haven't even played (only installed and opened the launcher) and when I went to the store today to buy this (http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:43220&categoryId=11959) I got the "exception raised" error when I installed the hair.
I hope this helps.
I don't think this is game related but launcher related, since I haven't even played one second or loaded the game and still I already got the error.
As to other information, playing on IMac 10.6.8, 4 GB, I have installed the Sims 3 and Generations, both bought not downloaded, I have downloaded only items from the store, I have switched off Time Machine (not just deactivated it), and there is nothing in the account that I installed the game into I created the account only for the game, if that matters.
You guys forget about removing your CC, it's the game itself if store items can be trusted to work!!! I'm so annoyed with this. We should all bombard EA with letters as it is surely not okay to sell a half-working game for that much money and having people there who are paid to solve this and they clearly don't since this error has been reported for what? Two years now?

I encountered this for the first time today after patching to 1.29.
Did the standard troubleshooting of Repairing Permissions, removing caches, and refreshing Preferences, and it worked.
It actually works after the first thing I did - that of Repairing Permissions - but I did the rest just to be thorough.
Here's the full paths. If you don't have some, that's fine just continue on to the next.
repair permissions
/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, "Repair Permissions"
delete preferences
/Users/<Username>/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder
delete caches:

i am at my wits end here. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the game completely TWICE. this message used to come up every now and then when i was in CAS, and now that i've reinstalled all games for the second time, the error comes up at the sims 3 title loading screen. i cannot even load my game anymore! i took out all of my mods because i uninstalled/reinstalled, so mods arent the problem. i have verified and repaired permissions. i have deleted all cache files. i couldnt even delete sims 3 preferences because none were there after reinstalling the game! i havent gotten to play at all since! i don't know what is going on and this all started after i installed pets. i'm on the latest patch (1.29) i am running osx 10.7, but i wasn't having any problems previously UNTIL i installed pets, as i have mentioned. i ejected all ext hard drives/ usb jump drives, i have turned time machine back up off. again, none of these ever caused any problems before, but i tried anyway. NOTHING WILL WORK!! i cannot even play my game anymore! i've searched the web and EA just says to reinstall your games I ALREADY DID THAT, THANKS EA!!! i am just getting so frustrated here. i just want to play!
WHY CAN'T EA MAKE A GAME THAT WORKS?!
what pisses me off even more is that i've found people complaining about this error on EA support forums and they date back to 2009!!!!! SERIOUSLY EA?! after 2 years you haven't bothered to freaking fix the problem yet?! what a POS and poorly run establishment.
i'm getting so frustrated after trying all kinds of remedies and yielding no results, i'm contemplating just installing the stupid game on my windows partition instead, which is incredibly sad because after how much money i've spent on these games i shouldn't have to resort to something like that

I'm live chatting right now with someone named Satender. Dude, your name sounds like a robot. Anyways, these are the steps he told me to follow:
1. Click the Start button and select Documents.
2. Select the Electronic Arts folder.
3. Right-click The Sims 3 folder and select Cut.
4. Right-click on your desktop and select Paste.
I interrupted him and told him that I've already done this, many times, and it has not work. He proceeded to tell me that it's worked "for many customers, please try again." I refused, nicely. He then gave me another set of steps:
Custom Content is all Sims content that did not come from an official The Sims 3 Update, The Sims 3 Store, Expansion Pack, or Stuff Pack. Custom Content is created by 3rd Party Developers that are not regulated by Electronic Arts or The Sims 3 Development Team and may not work with new updates. Custom Content may cause the game to behave unexpectedly or not function entirely.
To disable your custom content, undo whatever you did to install this content to get your game back into an unmodified state. If you placed it in a Sims 3 directory folder, move it to a new folder that is outside your Sims 3 file directory. Your Sims 3 file directory can be found using the paths listed below:
Windows File Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
Mac File Directory: User/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims/
Once you have installed the official update you may re-enable your custom content. If you experience problems, disable it again until the 3rd party developer updates their content to work with the official Update, Expansion Pack, or Stuff Pack.
Weeeeeeeell, I had already done that. Didn't work. So he said:
Delete the game preferences folder for a fresh start.
Sometimes, issues can be traced back to settings specific to a game going awry over time. Deleting your game's preferences folder will force it to create a new folder with the default files and settings intact.
From the system's desktop, select the Go menu along the top of the screen.
Select the Home option (short cut: Shift, Apple, H)
Open the folder labeled Library followed by the Preferences folder.
Find and delete the preferences folder for the game in question.
Now, the next time you play the game, it will load with default settings and will create a new preferences folder.
Oddly enough, my Library folder isn't listed under Home. So I searched for it in the Finder and there wasn't a Preferences folder, but there were 13 .package folders in there. He told me to delete the Library folder, and when I confirmed, he said not to delete the Library folder. So I left the files inside untouched because he told me to leave them alone. Then he told me to uninstall the game, make a new Apple ID and reinstall the game:
Can you also please try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it under a different MAC admin account.
1) Delete the "[Game Name]" icon from your Applications folder.
2) Delete the additional files can found in /Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/[Game Name] Preferences/p_drive, including your saved games.
Creating a new user account:
1) Click on the Apple Menu select System Preferences.
2) From the View menu, select Accounts.
3) You may need to click the Padlock icon to allow changes.
4) Click the + icon to create a new account.
5) Log into the new user account and reinstall the game.
I refused to do that as well, because I have quite a few devices synced up to my iMac and I'm not about to redo all of that. Nor do I want to sit for the millionth time and uninstall and reinstall ALL my Sims games. So he said:
Sadly, the last step I have available for this issue would be to manually remove the game from your computer and reinstall it by following the instructions below:
1. Drag The Sims 3 icon from your desktop to the trash bin.
2. Go to Users\[username]\Library\Preferences and delete the Sims 3 preferences folder if it appears.
3. Go to Users\[username]\Documents\Electronic Arts and move the Sims 3 folder to your desktop.
4. Finally, go to Users\[username]\Applications and delete the Sims 3 folder there.
5. Control-click on the trash bin and select Secure Deleted, restart your computer, and reinstall The Sims 3.
Which I told him I did already and it didn't work. So he proceeded to tell me:
Lets check for errors and make sure the permissions are set;
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Note: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
Well, I don't have an install disk with my Mac. I don't know why. Maybe if I had bought it from the Apple store and not Best Buy? No idea. So I told him I don't have a disk. He then asked me how I'm able to play the game without a disk. Somewhere in those two minutes he forgot that he had just told me to insert my INSTALL disk. Next:
apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. Please perform the following troubleshooting tips :-
1. Please make sure you are installing MAC version of the game through your DVD.
2.If you are already installing Mac version of the game then I suggest you to check your DVD by installing the game in another MAC system. If the game install in another system then there must be problem in your Mac system and you will need to contact your system manufacturer. If the Game doesn't install in another Mac system then the game disk must be damaged or defective. To acquire a replacement game disc you will want to refer to your manual for warranty information specific to your product.
Sure... because I have nearly two grand to spend on ANOTHER Mac product just to test 300 dollars worth of Sims games. Yea dude, we're all rich. He asked for my EA ID, first and last name, and then asked if I could please uninstall and reinstall the game. What's the point of doing it over and over and over if it doesn't work the first 10 times? He has now said:
It appears that you are no longer available for this chat session; hence, I am concluding it. If you have any more question or concerns, please feel free to contact us again and we would be glad to us assist you further.
Funny, I was the one waiting for his next response. It wasn't the other way around. I feel like hitting up the live chat again, only this time more angry. See if any of those steps helped you guys, as they have not helped me.

I have emailed the following to EA. At least I think I have, the page jumps a bit when I press 'send' but I don't get any acknowledgement that is HAS sent.
I have all The Sims games, EPs and Stuff packs since the beginning of Sims, in duplicate, as my daughter plays as well. Not an inconsiderable amount of money spent already plus most of the custom content from the Sims store adding another couple of hundred pounds. So, you can imagine that I am not best pleased with the fact of The Sims 3 Pets being such a shoddy product that it has rendered the game unplayable. i bought 2 copies of the disks in October and have been trying ever since to get the game to work properly. Both my daughter and I have been experiencing almost every conceivable problem with this game. Having played (sic) since the very beginning of the Sims you must know that I have to be very experienced at troubleshooting it as every time you bring out a new EP, Stuff Pack, Game patch, they invariably DO NOT WORK out of the box and cause considerable problems to almost every serious player. The Sims 3 Pets is by far the WORST of them all and I really feel that it was a huge mistake to put this game out before you had made sure that it was playable.
My most infuriating problem at the moment is that the game will not allow me to make a family in CAS. I can get so far, but then I get the 'black sim' syndrome, the icons all get screwed, and a few seconds later the 'unhandled page access, do you want to debug?' message comes up and the game quits no matter which option I choose. It's bloody infuriating! I have tried everything to fix this. Here is a list of my troubleshooting.
Dedicate the memory to the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB card
Delete all cache files,
Refresh the Sims 3 preferences folder
run Disk Utility
delete any caches in User/Library/Caches/ Sims 3
Remove all cc
Play a 'Vanilla' game
Re- install everything
Put in another 4GB of Ram, now at full capacity 8GB
Nothing works!!!!!!
I am playing on;
MacBook Pro 2009
OSX 10.6.8
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB memory
NVidia GeForce 9400M 256 MB
NVidia GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB
I have not found ANYONE online who has had any sensible or usable help from any EA Guru to help with ANY of the myriad problems with this EP. So I would be delighted if you have a WORKABLE solution to this problem. The community is calling it, 'Exception raised....debug...Blah, blah...' on all Forums to be found on the net. It has been 'flagged' and 'bumped' on all forums for months with absolutely ZERO response from EA, or the occasional seriously ill informed and dangerously stupid suggestion. As I have done everything i can think of to try to fix this, including completely un installing the Sims 3 and all EPs Stuff Packs + ALL folders and files relating to the Sims 3, ( I HAVE done this both through the Sims Uninstall and manually) , this particular problem is still happening so it can't be a corrupted file, and it can't be down to any cc because there is no cc in the game. Please remember that I am playing on a Mac when you reply to me, I have had many Gurus suggest things to me without taking in that fact in the past.
I look forward to hearing from you
If it has indeed 'sent' and I do get a response I will post again.

Can I ask everyone who has been having this ongoing issue and have tried everything else, to confirm or disprove Kayleena's findings in 468741, please? Thanks!
And that this solution is repeatable and works on everyones' games; no matter the world, or the OS version or Sims patch version?
Post with following info, please.
- works! / didn't work
- CPU, RAM, GPU
- MAC OS version
- base game version
- save based in <what world>
- game exist since patch version: <patch#> / new game since patch 1.31 (if new game, did it not work with existing pre-<patch#>-patched game?)
- which did you remove? AM / MC / both / any other mod
- other info to share?

I've never had so many problems with anything in my life as I have with the Sims this weekend. Yesterday I was in Riverview(?) and noticed that it kept pausing over and over every few seconds. Got very frustrating. Decided to return to Sims 2 since I am borderline hating Sims 3 anyway. Sims 2 crashed after 5 minutes of play. Spent 3 or so hours uninstalling/reinstalling everything to see if it would work fresh out of the box. It didn't. Still crashed after 5 minutes. But I digress...
I come back to Sims 3, looking into the pausing thing. Decide to try a different town. This time I go to the default town. I can't remember its name. The one that comes with the base game (which, by the way, is all I have installed). Play for 5 minutes, which were actually "pause-free" which gave me hope. Then BLAMMO, I get the "Exception Raised, Debug?" thing and it crashed.
I am on Mac OS X Lion. MacBook Pro i7. 8GB of ram. Only have the base game and a few custom content clothes and hair. It worked fine until this weekend.

Are all of you having this Exception Raised error on a Mac? Which OS X version?
And you're starting the game via the Launcher?
And you patched to 1.22 series? For base game only or all the packs?
I have the exact same problem and I'm hating it. Sometimes I haven't saved my game and then I've lost so much! :(
I also work on a MacBook Pro, mine is just Snow Leopard, since my dad read somewhere that Lion clashes with the Sims 3.. I really think Generations or Pets is the problem, before that I never had any trouble :(

I'd like to say on here i've been over on the sims 3 forum and have said a lot there. But cc is not the problem. YES CC IS NOT THE PROBLEM!! So remove cc will not make this problem go away it's a problem with cider the thing that makes the sims run on Mac's unfortunately from talks with EA they refuse to even notice this problem and have said that the problem is a problem the user created, which is false! I have not created this problem i'm like any other player how just creates sims, play there life out, makes houses. I want to know how does that create problems? it doesn't EA creates problems. Sorry for the rant but it just frustrating when you can't play

I have this same issue.
only two days ago have i only just started using CC. i used to just use all the store brought content and i have this debug issue.
at the minute i'm having to save ALOT just to counter act the fact that at any moment Sims could crash and i could lose hours of hard work ( Building houses is hard work!)
It drives me mad. i have the latest patches and all expansions other then Fast lane, Show Time and Master suite. I am up to date with patches and keep searching for a cure to this issue but still can not see one in sight.
I used to love the sims... then sims 3 happened :(
hehe i'm kidding but it is a pretty infuriating bug

when i can afford a new computer its going to be a PC all the way

i have this behavoir too, since moved from W7 to MAC bevor few days. on W7 was laggy but never saw "exception raised" error. fortunatly i have on W7 the tools to analyze the error. 99% of the "exception raised" errors had the cause of LAA (Large Adress Aware), means the wrapper (cider) under OSX isnt able adress more than 2GB of virtual memory.
this is my explanation of the problem ... someon with the same experiences here?

I have had it up to here *raises hand above head* with TS3.
I've never ever had issues when playing the game on my Mac (Snow Leopard, v. 10.6.8) until last week. I'm playing with TS3 Base, Generations, Pets, World Adventures, and Late Night (and yes, I installed them chronologically and not in the order I posted them in). I have NO stuff packs, NO custom content, NO mods, NO time machine, NOT logged in/connected to the internet when I play. The only thing I can think of is that I've got Riverview, Hidden Springs, Lunar Lakes, the Loads of Laundry expansion, the IAMs pet stuff (came with the game) and a couple bonus items (all from the EA store, supposedly patched with the latest game update, which I have) I've reinstalled at least 3 times, and I continuously get the exception raised error. I've tried deleting all my cache files (per the instructions in one of the posts above), and it will not work. I can get about 30 minutes of game time in before the game just freezes. All other background applications continue to run without issue (aside from the fact that I can't get out of the game using any key combinations), and I usually end up shutting my computer down and waiting an hour or so before attempting to run it again.
Is this just something I'm going to have to deal with? Am I going to have to uninstall EPs or bonus worlds to get this to work? I don't care what I have to do, just so long as I can get my game to start working again.
edit: According to the game launcher, I'm running version 10.0.96.015001 of the game. Also went through and deleted Saves, SavedOutfits, Exports, Recorded Videos and Screenshots folders. ----> Are there any other folders worth cleaning out? Can you delete files whose names contain "Cache" but are .package files?

I have the same problem!!!! But it first started when I installed Showtime (yesterday, second day of playing), I run an iMac. Just a minute after a file is loaded the game closes and this comes up "Unhandled Page Fault on read access to 0x00000 at address 0x00ce2lb9
Do you wish to debug?" Yes or No, Ive clicked on both, both end my game!!!!Is this problem just for mac? What can I do? :faceslap:

About halfway through loading my town, i get an error that says:
Exception Raised
Unhandled Page Fault on read access to 0x00000 at address 0x00ce2lb9
Do you wish to debug?
Yes or No
I've clicked both, both end my game.
I've looked everywhere for an answer.
I'm running a macbook pro. I have all min. requirements for the game.
I never had this problem before installing Generations.
I just want to play dammnit, for the amount of money i've spent.
Can anyone help?
The same thing keeps happening to me right after I installed generation. I would be able to play, for an hour, and then (while i'm in the creating a family room mostly) the game would shut down on me. Someone said that after they installed another sims 3 game it went away, i haven't tried it yet, but maybe that's the issue.

you know on some of the downloads for CC (custom content) it says bla bla bla "use this download at your own risk" i think it's just some content that is causing the problem. i have a macbook pro and apart from the occasional random shutdown of the game mine runs fine..... (btw the occasional shutdown is normal) but occurs less if you keep your laptop on a hard surface instead of something like a bed or sofa that will make it overheat like crazy !!! I only get the error message after certain downloads (most probably dodgy ones) ..... i downloaded a LA City world and it loads up to a certain point then comes up with the error message.... the same for a certain rug i downloaded.

Has anyone ever actually looked for that file that's raising the error? I have, it's a .plist file. Has anyone tried dumping the plist?
(if anyone was curious, deleting that file in the error code doesn't work. It regenerates itself =P )

This error names a file? I thought it is a memory address?

Don't know, I remember finding the exact "00028383x282blah blah" somewhere in my sims folder (can't remember if it was in documents or applications) and it was a .plist file.
Let me try to find it
edit: still trying to find it. i think what i did was go into spotlight and search for that 0000blah blah blah. my 000crap was different from others posting in this page so i don't know what to search for. at one point i took a screen shot of my exception error, but i did an erase and install today in preparation for mountain lion so a few of my files are out of place since i put them back. i'll keep searching though
----
ok, i guess i was misremembering. this is what i found:
what i did was go into finder and search "0x00000000" it came up with over 7,000 matches (all unrelated to anything..) and i sorted them in finder by kind. under documents, i found 7 files in here related to the sims, all with similar names. the extension: home folder>documents>electronic arts>the sims 3>
and then files with names like this: xcpt "user name"-12-06-11 22.16.44.txt (obviously with dates)
they appear to be recordings of when the error was raised. if you open the txt file, there is a lot of information. i'm not much of one to interpret these elaborate text files, has anyone else tried reading them to see if there is any insight in them as to what might be causing this? what is very strange is that in all of mine it says
"EA_PLATFORM: Windows on X86
OS name: Windows XP
OS version number: 5.1.2600
OS service pack: Service Pack 2"
not sure about you guys, but i thought i was running this on a mac! :wtf: and if it was on a pc it probably wouldn't be XP!! the entire txt file refers to files that would be on a windows computer, actually. don't know if that's really at all relevant, but i just found it strange..
if it's easier, i'll go ahead and post the entire contents of one of these txt files. i have no idea where i thought i saw plist, but i could have sworn i did. i guess maybe i was confused? =/ i don't know.
this seems like undiscovered territory that we're getting into, so i hope someone can get something from these txt files
here we go (please no one mark this as spam!):

edit: some more info. i was googling exception raised errors in general (sadly, most often when this error comes up, it's when running a game so there's not much info about it) but, in regards to the whole windows thing in the text file, i found someone who posted this in a forum:
"Sims 3: Pets is a PC game using a Cider Wrapper (Basically a PC emulator).
EA does this with a lot of their Mac titles, these games are notoriously buggy, and TBH not much better on PC, EA is an evil company"
i can say i agree with him on that last statement =P anyway, that explains why it talks about windows so much in that text file. interesting to learn that basically the sims runs like an emulator. didn't know that. it would explain why we have so many issues on the mac side, and why we never get fixes from EA. they probably have no idea how to even begin to fix our issues. unfortunately, this guy had no insight to offer on our problem

ah HA!! has anyone tried deleting these files?
here's how i got to them: open finder and click the "go" menu. if your'e running an os before lion, click on library. if you're running lion or later, hit the option key and then click on the library folder that has now appeared. once there, go to preferences. (note: this is NOT the library folder under macintosh HD) now, you'll have to scroll through a ton of files and REALLY use your eyes to find these. i don't know a lot about plist files, but if these are like other plist files in the preferences folder, they should regenerate themselves. to be on the safe side in case anything went horribly horribly wrong, i'd copy them to another folder in case you need to replace them. of course, i would make a copy of my game folder before doing this as well. i would test it out myself, but recently i've been seeing the error less frequently and inconsistently. also, i just updated to mountain lion and so far, i haven't seen this error yet and i don't want to jinx it! does anyone know if doing this might possibly fix this/have anything to do with the error? i know that sometimes if an application is having some issues, sometimes deleting these plist files in preferences can reset the preferences for the application and resolve the issue

These files in Documents are the game's usual crash logs. They're the same on both Mac and PC. If you've got access to a PC you can try to read them with the CrashLogAnalyzer tool that's available here somewhere. But even this tool won't tell you too much. Some users on the official forum did that and CLA reported that their crashes were due to DEP, something that should actually not be a MacOS issue, afaik.
But, as you found out, Sims 3 is not really a Mac application but runs as WindowsXP inside the wrapper called Cider. This is some sort of translator, or whatever you want to call it, that makes Windows commands readable by MacOS. It's not evil per se, but in the case of most ciderised games just really badly done.
I had come across a site where someone had made their own wrapper based on Cider and the results were that the game they tested ran almost as well as the PC version and in any case better than the Cider version that came with the disc. I can't find the link anymore but I guess it would not be allowed to post this here anyway.
But this is an interesting article on PC vs. Cider games.

ah HA!! has anyone tried deleting these files?Do you mean you haven't done the suggestions in post#39 (http://modthesims.info/showpost.php?p=3727749&postcount=39)? Sometimes I feel invisible. ;)
If you can't find them, it's because on Lion they are hidden (Option/ALT key(?) to unhide). Might be the same on Mountain Lion...so next time you try let us know.

hmm... and it appears that i even posted after 39 and was post 40... how very interesting.. this might be due to the fact that i didn't read the rest of the posts on this forum. i didn't even realize i commented on it in the past lol (probably because i wrote that post in a blind rage) and apparently i did try deleting the preference files.. wow do i feel silly! :faceslap: in this case, sorry to get everyone's hopes up and taking us in circles! i thought we were on to something for a while.
at any rate, realizing i commented on it in the past, i will offer what made the error less frequent for me. previously, my game wouldn't run and the exception raised error would come up after the loading screen every time. i know no one likes doing this, but i uninstalled and reinstalled all of my games. now, no one is going to want to hear this but i had to delete my saved games. i tried putting them back multiple times hoping that they would work, but each time they corrupted the game again and i got the error. i uninstalled and reinstalled close to 5 times (it was a pain). so i started all over again with a new game. the error still happened, but at least i could play. it wouldn't happen until after a while of game play. i learned that the more often i saved, the less often i saw the error. don't know if that is just specific to my game. i noticed that if i went longer than 10 minutes without saving i would get the error. so i tried to save once every 10 minutes and i could play longer without getting the error. that was back in january. i don't know what's changed since then, but the error doesn't pop up nearly as often, despite how many times i save, and i found it is most often provoked by being in CAS too long, or when editing the town for long periods of time. sometimes, however, it just decides to pop up when i'm minding my own business =P
if anyone was curious, like me, i tried running my "corrupt" saved game on TS3 on my windows partition. the game still wouldn't let me play. whatever this error is, it corrupts your saved game and makes it completely unplayable (in the worst case scenario where you can't even get your game to open without having the error raised)

I encountered this for the first time today after patching to 1.29.
Did the standard troubleshooting of Repairing Permissions, removing caches, and refreshing Preferences, and it worked.
It actually works after the first thing I did - that of Repairing Permissions - but I did the rest just to be thorough.
Here's the full paths. If you don't have some, that's fine just continue on to the next.
repair permissions
/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, "Repair Permissions"
delete preferences
/Users/<Username>/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder
delete caches:
<diskname>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it>
/Users/<Username>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it>
Hi there,
I'm following your suggested steps, currently repairing, never done it before and hoping I did it right, now doing No 2 but wanted to ask do I delete the whole of the Sims 3 Preferences folder or just whats inside it or only specific things in the folder?
Thanks,
Sinniti
Also, this error occurred with No CC installed with just the base game, generations and pets. It started happening after I made a new family in create a sim and moved them onto a vacant lot, so none of the usual CC issues would have caused my error.

:alarm: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :alarm:
has anyone tried checking the crash log? i have only had this error appear once since i reinstalled my os so i don't have much to go off of in my crash log. the only one i found that i think may be related to the sims was "storeagent" the error appeared when i was trying to patch the game so this might be possible?
if you don't know how to check the crash log, you can go here (http://osxdaily.com/2007/02/27/deciphering-mac-os-x-crash-logs/) and once you find a crash log that may look like it's related to the sims, there is also a link on that page to help you decipher what is said in the crash log. if you find something, please post the contents of the log here because i'll be very interested to see what it says.
edit: i just looked up what storeagent was and it appears to be related to the mac app store, so if you see that in your crash log, just ignore it

Hi people !
I am having this debug error again. It happened to me before, but since I got rid of my outdated mods and most of my .package CC, it was working fine, especially since I patched, installed Showtime and Supernatural last week.
But, it's here again !! The game is quitting in multiple situations, for no visible reasons.
I don't really know how my computer works because I am a Mac noob, plus I have a hard time trying to understand all the possible solutions given here because english is not my native language...
I have checked my mods, updated all or removed those I suspected outdated, and repaired the permissions...
Question : Could it be my .sims3pack CC that causing all that ? Because I have plenty, and sorting out those is a real pain in the ass !
EDIT: The last debug error was "0x80000003 at address 0x005Bac96"

Okay, I tried to refresh the user folder, but now, most of my package CC stopped working (I moved the Mods folder back to the Sims 3 fodler after refreshing it). And I don't know why, my skins, CC, sliders aren't working anymore, but some core/non-core mods do.

Even though this forum hasn't been commented on in a few months, i'm still more than determined to figure this out. I get the error every single time I play, at random times. I can't figure out what triggers it, because i've tried games completely vanilla and a new save and it still happens. I'm about to spend $2,000 for a new computer because this problem is only on Mac, so i'm investing in a gaming computer for more reasons than just Sims. Has anyone had any updates on possible solutions?

Hey y'all, possible solution here?
I started experiencing the exception raised issue quite some time ago (I can't remember when), but it got to the point with seasons where I couldn't even play my game for more than a few minutes at a time, if that. I did some research, did a complete uninstall of my game and then reinstalled everything, one at a time, making sure that each game was fully patched before I installed the next one. I tried playing again without any cc. This still did not work.
It seems that it is certainly (at least in my case) a problem with cider, because when i stopped searching for "sims 3 exception raised" and instead searched for "exception raised", I discovered that there are a lot of EA games that are having this same problem! So I tried to see if I could see possible solutions for cider. These are the steps that are working - so far!! Note that I am using Lion with a AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics card.
--Open disk utility and repair disk permissions
--download xQuartz 2.7.4 and install it
I have found in my research that xQuartz helps cider work somehow. (I'm a techie but not that big of one ahahha!) So far, I've been able to play for about an hour now with no exception being raised. Hopefully this will continue as I slowly add in my cc again and keep playing for longer periods of time. I hope this helps someone else, too!

I will try this and edit in the results later. Also been having exception raised errors since generations. however on this macbook, i had to uninstall and reinstall this base game about 10 times just to get it to start with no mods, cc of any kind, not sure if that has anything to do with maybe it was a problem with my computer or the game yet.

Well, coming from someone who got the debug error every time I go into CAS, within 10 minutes of gameplay or any time i went to a community lot with other sims, the XQuartz worked! I haven't gotten an error at all, the game runs smoother and the game doesnt crash for no reason without error anymore either! Download XQuartz and i think your problems will be solved.

i made a small sort of piggy-back discovery. my game is now unplayable (again) due to this issue. it wont even load.
anyway, i've been trying random things to get it to at least boot and i've been continuing my research. it's fairly obvious to me that the main issue here lies with cider.
a lot of other people (sims users and other EA mac users) have pointed to the fact that cider only utilizes 2 GB of RAM, when most of us have more than that (i have 8)
i was poking about my computer, interested in this RAM thing, and i brought up system profiler and looked at the "memory" section. here is my discovery: i noticed that my sticks of RAM are serialized, and that the serialization number of both sticks match the exception raised error that i am getting
"0x00000000" are the serializations for my RAM sticks.
when i bring up the "exception raised" file in text edit, it reads "type: ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000000"
this would explain why everyone's exception raised errors read different numbers, because their RAM sticks are likely serialized differently.
i wish there was a way to force cider to access more than 2 gigs. i was reading an online article from when cider was first announced/released in 2006, and even then it only allowed for 2 GB of RAM. seriously? 6 years later and we couldn't have upgraded that?
anyway, i'm still hoping that posting all of this discovered information will help someone more technically savvy than me find a solution. i'm off to continue to try different things to see if i can make the game work. haven't tried xquartz yet, but i will report my findings when i do.
EDIT: while poking about, i realized i already have xquartz 2.7.4 installed, so obviously it's not working for me because my game won't load the neighborhood.
what's interesting is that my fans would never kick in until after actually playing the game for a little while, meaning my computer was never really working that hard until then. now, every time i try to run the game, the fans kick in when trying to load the neighborhood, and then crashes. whether or not this is related is beyond me

I've tried a few things here but nothing works and today it actually started to get really weird. Yesterday it wasn't that bad, I downloaded a few new mods (new as in compatible with Seasons). Let me say a week ago it wasn't that much I could easily play hours and hours, but today it crashes... the moment I start up. Instant crash.
I really wondering what the problem is. (The Xquartz I don't use it since that one makes Gimp crash or not work properly, so I actually don't recommend it to people with Mac).

I still don't know what's causing this stupid issue, but I was able to get my game to work again (still get the error, but not every time I try to launch the game).
My saved game, or neighborhood, had become corrupt, as I could still launch a different save game and not get the error before the neighborhood loaded. I fixed my saved game by following THESE DIRECTIONS (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=6.0)
Everything is located in the same area for mac users.
Someone else posted a great idea to "save as" your game, and to save 2 separate files. I.e. "Appaloosa plains" and "Appaloosa plains 2"
That way you always have a second back up to restore from in case your saved game becomes corrupt again.
I know this doesn't fix the issue, but hopefully it will help those who have unplayable games be able to return to their legacy families again.
I'm still determined to find a permanent solution to this problem though

Xquartz isn't working for me, can anybody post a step-by-step tutorial on how to run it with the sims so I can see if I'm doing anything wrong?
EA have apparently announced in the cases of some people spamming their help desk that they are working on the cider issue but until then sims mac users will just have to wait. They were apparently going to put it in a patch, but that's all I've been able to work out after some googling.
Apparently the crash has started happening to MAC users after supernatural and seasons were brought in, some people have said that the game runs better without supernatural and seasons, but I don't think we should have to give up an expansion (particually two awesome ones) just so our games don't crash.

Maybe this info can help to find the bug.
I'm not very good with Macs to solve this so.

^^^^ I found that exact same thing (roughly) when I searched the system log after the crash would happen.
Also, this issue has been happening for mac users since the base game. You can go back on the official forums to 2009 when it was originally posted about. Maybe over the last 3 years we've finally complained enought for those idiots to do something about it. My error started showing up when I installed pets.
Edit: I realize my post showed up on the next page so the arrows don't point to the post above like I thought it would. So just look at the last comment on the previous page...

I'm now in my crash log and well... I've found something weird.
Commandline: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe -f
But the thing is... the 'Game' map... I can't find it. Can it be a bug raises because of a map that disappeared or is that map always 'gone'?
Because later on (in the log) this appears:
[Exception info]
date: 2013-01-13
time: 15.48.44
type: ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000014
address: 0x00e21092 "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe":0x0001:0x00a20092
Can that be the trigger for the bugs?
Further these bugs started for me ever since I installed Seasons + Generations.
EDIT: I've found the map after some searching.

So I went further and into that map.
First line I get:

Map? You mean the game folder path?
It has been speculated from the start this "Exception Raised, Debug Error" error is similar to a DEP crash on Windows system. And since there's no equivalent workaround on a Mac, or no one has figured one out, this still remains one of life's unsolved mysteries. :)

I encountered this for the first time today after patching to 1.29.
Did the standard troubleshooting of Repairing Permissions, removing caches, and refreshing Preferences, and it worked.
It actually works after the first thing I did - that of Repairing Permissions - but I did the rest just to be thorough.
Here's the full paths. If you don't have some, that's fine just continue on to the next.
repair permissions
/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, "Repair Permissions"
delete preferences
/Users/<Username>/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder
delete caches:
<diskname>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it>
/Users/<Username>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it>
I tried to go into step 1. /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, "Repair Permissions" but it failed when I tried to look for Repair Permissions, since I couldn't find it I moved onto the next step.
On step 2: /Users/<Username>/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder I did all of that, I went into ''Libary'' but there was no '' The Sims 3 Preferences Folder'' :/.. so I tried to go on the next step.
On step 3: <diskname>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it> Also tried this there was nothing with Sims 3 in it.
Sorry your steps didn't work for me.. T_T

Sorry your steps didn't work for me..That's too bad, sorry to learn that.
But I have follow-up questions.
1. There's no "Repair Permissions" in your "Disk Utility" app? Or, you cannot find the "Disk Utility" app?
2. Has the Sims 3 ever started successfully on this machine, with a saved game? After having successfully save, that you successfully Quit from?

Why wont Sims 3 answer this problem well I hope they will so we will be fulfilled. If they just tell us what to do I will really like follow up and wait for the new Sims 3 University :D!

I've been getting the debug error all day, but the steps leading up to the error are oddly specific.
It only happens when I build a wall in Build Mode, then go to Live Mode and save.
If I add floor tiles or rearrange furniture and save, I don't get the error. It also seems to be happening with only one family. I tried making a copy of the family, but that game crashed when I built a wall and saved, too.
I've tried deleting the caches and running without CC, but nothing works.

For me it's easy.
With Mods & CC the game errors right from starting.
Without it runs perfectly but also at a slower pace as it normally should.
And all the mods I use are updated so...
It's really a mystery.

Hello,
Changing the name into oldthesims3 really helped! But it still crashes all the time, how can you track the mirrors which are causing this?

I only use the store's custom content myself and know recently my game started crashing. If I find out what has been causing it recently I'll let you guys all know so that we can get the store items fixed for Mac users.

I have the same problem as everyone else in this thread and i really have no idea what to do. Everytime i play my game crashes with the error. I can seldom play more than 10 minutes in create a sim before my game crashes, an its really frustrating! Im playing on a iMac OS X Lion version 10.7.5 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB. Everytime before i play i always delete my cache.package piles. I cant even scroll trough the installed content because after maybe 20 things the game error appears so i cant delete anything of my CC content. I have no mods installed, not that much CC content and i dont download my CC content from exchange.
My game has crashed 20 times since the last bug report was sent from my computer and it was a couple of days ago!!!
I really dont know what to do! :( :( :( :faceslap: :faceslap: :!!: :!!: :!: :!:

My game has crashed every time I played it, sometimes after an hour, sometimes immediately. It seems random to me, and I'm getting desperate. Yes I do have some CC installed, both packages and sims3pack files, but not much and the problem is that I'm not sure whether I can delete them or not without making my sims look odd (I have some slider mods).
Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe you need to update your game if you have version 1.0

Maybe you need to update your game if you have version 1.0
I tried to Refresh for updates, but it never showed me any updates. So I reinstalled everything (I now have every expansion pack except for Showtime, and I have the High End Lot stuff pack and the Diesel stuff pack) and checked for updates everytime. It doesn't give me bug errors everytime, but my sims have problems walking through doors and interacting (I thought the update said that was supposed to be fixed, so now I'm confused about the game update version I have?). Am I doing something wrong with the updates?

I'm having this error also, except it happens when I try to create a pool - I only click the pool in Build Mode and the game crashes to my desktop. I haven't bought any pool mods or anything. I don't know how it started, because I didn't download a new patch or anything - I was just building a house and wanted to build a pool and the "Do you wish to debug?" thing came up. I click yes - it quits I click no - it quits, too. If this is similar to anyone's problem, PLEASE let me know!!!

Okay I asked my friend (who isn't a simmer but plays other hardcore games as Skyrim and Deus Ex (for those that know)).
He told me it may be that the updates coming from EA are lacking instead then the rest.
Did someone try with University Life patch/or game now or...? Otherwise we will forever be sitting here and can't play Sims (and I'm having withdrawal symptoms)

Can anyone help?
hello
im having a similar issue where when my game has finished playing that trailer you always get when you start the game, suddenly it stops and goes to a smaller black blank screen saying this message ( and the same when i try to upload content and remove installed content): unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x0072a347.
what on heaven and earth does this mean?????
please help me as i can no longer play my game and im very annoyed over it because i absolutely adore my sims 3 game and everything about it    (there should be a sims ambulance to sort these things out lol :mod: "sims 3 ambulance coming through" :mod:

Those numbers represent the coding for a corrupted CC item. I've alos noticed that when I start my game over again and the "debug error" sign pops again and another set of codes appear. You have to install Delphy's cleaning tool to delete them. Here is Delphy's page to delete those files: http://www.modthesims.info/d/387006
Hope this works for you!

Oh well. I'm giving up on it. I deleted all from my Mac. I'm saving up money for a desktop PC (not immediately a game desktop but just a desktop PC) and I turn one of my TVs into a PC.
It's too bad EA doesn't really pay attention.
(Yes I know you can also try and work with Bootcamp but my free space on my hard drive here is not that big anymore since I also play games from Steam and so on...)
So well... Maybe that's something Mac users can try... Try Bootcamp? It's my last option.

No problem. Delphy's cleaning tool works on a MAC too. There's another program called Bootcamp which is quite similar to Delphy's cleaning tool. I posted th elink to where you can find the thread about bootcamp. The post was posted by plasticbox.
