View Full Version : Medieval Same Sex Pregnancy & Wish For Child (Male Maternity Clothing)

:alarm: This mod is no longer updated. A much better version can be found here, Grim's Medieval Core (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=449550). This includes a better pregnancy, and wish for child mod, and also adds several more selectable features.

I have heard a couple of people ask for this, so here is a Sims Medieval Same Sex pregnancy mod, and a mod which allows Asexual Pregnancy by wishing at the town well.

Same Sex Mod
The Same Sex mod leaves normal Male/Female pregnancies as they are, but allows the sim that chooses the Woohoo interaction to become pregnant from Same Sex Woohoo.

Wish For Child Mod
This mod adds an interaction to the town well that allows you to wish for a child. The sim that wishes for a child instantly becomes pregnant.

:new: Male Maternity Clothing
Added a package which will give males bodies during pregnancy. They will not show pregnancy, but they at least they now have bodies. Thanks to vidov whos Male Nude Cloth (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=448823) mod led me to the answer, and to DarthKitsune for pointing it out.

:new: New Core Beta
The Core Beta has been moved to Grim's Medieval Core (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=449550)

Compatibility
Both of these mods require a core mod in order to work. Therefore they will conflict with any mod which modifies GameplaySystems.dll, and they require the d3dx9_31.dll. The mods are designed to work together, and both enable lock saving if you’re using my locking doors mod.

Installation
Same Sex Mod
Simply place the SameSexPregnancy_V_1_3_13.package in you’re Mods/Packages directory.

Wish For Child Mod
Place the WishForChild.package in you’re Mods/Packages directory. You will also need to install either the SameSexPregnancy_V_1_3_13.package, or the GrimsTSMCoreEnabler_V_1_3_13.package (for those who want only Wish For Child)

I try to test these mods as well as I can, but I would advise making a backup before using this any mod. As always if you have problems with the mod I'll try to help.

Sorry, I don't understand your question.

My only guess would be that you're asking if it's a quest for Wish For Child, as was mentioned in another thread. Right now it's not, but I really like that idea and am thinking about doing that when I get more done on my quest maker.

wow, this is great....thank you! question though-- with the wish mod, my sim made a wish and the pregnancy tune played, but he didn't become a floating head. Is there the same kind of delay as in when a sim regularly becomes pregnant?

Thank you grim for the answer-- my game froze up in CAS and I had to end the program so I did not see the process fully complete apparently.

:gjob: for these mods

Yes, male pregnancy (including wishing) runs just like female pregnancy, so it takes a few game hours to appear.

Wow, I hadn't tried that. I'm working on an updated version of the mod, should I fix that? It'd be pretty easy.

DarthKitsune

nah don't worry, it's not autonomous so when it happens it's on purpose. What's odd, is that the children (at least the boys) don't age up in that weird way where they're an adult when you talk to them but a child when their idle, they stay children except for a little bit of body stretching when the pregnancy is revealed. but floating midget heads. . .I love this mod XD

*Edit: I can confirm that children stay children after giving birth. . .

It sounds like you have another core mod conflicting with this. Basically, the mod is being loaded, but somewhere it's loading a different GameplaySystems.dll or UI.dll than the one in my package. This is the exact symptom you would get if you already have a mod which overwrites the GameplaySystems.dll or UI.dll. If you want to tell me which mods you have I may be able to help figure out which one is conflicting.

Thanks for giving it a try. There's really only so much I can test on my own.

DarthKitsune

I use 47 different mods, so it might take a while to figure out which one, but the fact that I can't access it isn't a problem, it isn't interfering with my simBoys giving each other babies. My first set of simGirls couldn't give each other babies, but the boys could, idk if it requires a man or if the first time out was a glitch.

I don't much play with simGirls so, again, it's not a problem.

My MedievalDoorLockSavingEnabler conflicts with the core mod, but lock saving is enabled by default with the core so it should be removed. Also, I believe debugenabler is a core mod, so it will also conflict. I believe if you remove those two files it should work.

It surprises me that it works at all with those two packages installed. Have you tried it through a WooHoo or Wish For Child? Wish For Child would still call my pregnancy overrides, but not regular WooHoo.

DarthKitsune
17th Jul 2011, 10:53 PM
I can get a woman pregnant by a man through woohoo, but I've never been able to get a man pregnant by another man through woohoo, Wish For Child works so well I'm shocked there are no twins.

I don't mind not woohooing to get another man pregnant, I just wanted to see what the tab was all about.

*edit: that fixed it, my guy got knocked up first try. Danke schoen!

I don't know if it's the combination of my mods, along with the addition of the new male nude clothing mod, or the mod itself, but now my preggo male sims just get naked when they get pregnant. still no stomach to show, but at least they aren't floating heads.

They have a body!?

That could be the answer I'm looking for. Maybe now I can get rid of the floating heads. Thanks so much for letting me know. You're turning out to be a great tester for this mod.

Glad I could be of service. also, after i removed the two suggested mods, I was able to make my Empress pregnant by another female and male/male woohoo resulted in a child. All is as it should be in my little world. . .I guess.

I checked to make sure the nude male body wasn't a glitch, the whole shut down & reboot thing, and if it *IS* a glitch, it is a recurring one. the male sims become floating heads again when they transform into sleeping clothes and get into bed, but when the get out it's back to the nude body.

I'm glad you got it working.

I'm still messing with things, and kind of looking for other stuff to add to my core so if you have any ideas let me know.

I'm working a bit on Adoption, and I can make it work, but the children never seem to be able to use any of the household items. They recognise the adopted parent's home as their own, but always leave to the village when their tired or hungry. I don't know if anyone would like to mess with this as is. Otherwise they seem to behave like normal children. If anyone is interested in this chime in, otherwise I may move on from it.

I'm also planning on moving some of my Sims 3 mods to my Medieval core, at least any that uses the same code.

I think most of my other ideas would need the game developers or require an expansion lol! But the next mods/patch I really need would be abdication in favour of- and a family tree, I've got a seventeenth generation emperor and it'd be awesome to see!

Maybe shorter pregnancy (again) and a shorter infancy - babies are tedious and I feel bad that my guy can't feed them. is it feasible for kids to be sent to the pit?

So, does the adoption allow the child to be eligible for succession?

It's not a glitch! It led me to the right answer. Basically, I couldn't overwrite the original clothing to make it valid for maternity, but I could copy it and make a new set of valid clothing. Thank you so much, and thanks to vidov for his male nude mod.

A lot of the things you mention I don't know if I can do, but it gives me things to look at when I'm bored. Kids to the pit, maybe. Passing on the thone without dieing, maybe. With some of the stuff I've been learning about menus maybe even a family tree (Not Likely). Shorter pregnancy and infancy I believe can be edited by ITUNs or XMLs. Course an interaction could probably be added to do it instantly. Maybe.

Anyway about adoption. It kind of disturbed me that the kids kept running off so I haven't messed with it much further. I'm thinking about adding it to my core beta download, just to let people mess with it. Maybe tomorrow if I don't come up with anything new.

DarthKitsune

Anything you can do is enough I assure you. If the birth/infancy were quicker i think there'd be a whole lot more random children running around (I might be a little obsessed with the mpreg. . .) but like i said, it's something for the developers, and it's something they should have thought of before hand, I can't be the only one who wants abdication, lol.

The kids disappearing to the village is probably a cause for worry, do they come back or are they just killed off in the rabbit hole?

grimreefer24601

They come back. They just don't act like home is home. But, if you select them and send them home they go to the parent's home.

I am confused as to which packages to install. I want wish for child, but not same sex pregnancy, unless men can breastfeed. Also, I have nude male cloth mod by vido. So what should I install?

DarthKitsune
19th Jul 2011, 01:14 PM
You could install the new core beta, which gives you the option of choosing a father for the baby at the Wish For Child well, as well as gives you a tab making pregnancy by same-sex woohooing impossible, the men cannot breast feed for either mod as of yet. If you have Vidov's nude mod installed, your male sim will get nude when pregnancy is discovered but have no stomach, if you have Grimreefer's pregnancy clothing mod installed, they wear clothes, but still have no stomach.

DarthKitsune explained it pretty well. You can install either the new core by itself, or Wish for child and the core enabler. The new core seems to be working well, and has a much better wish for child interaction, so I would recommend that one.

To DarthKitsune: Everything about an adopted child is the same as a regular child, they just always run off. Of course that's what I always did as a child. They also can't use any beds on the lot even when selected. I think perhaps there's something in objects which tells it that sims can or can't use it.

It works better than my attempts so far at NPC pregnancy.

DarthKitsune
19th Jul 2011, 02:46 PM
Hmm, oh well, I hope you get all the wrinkles ironed out, sounds promising!

by NPC Pregnancy do you mean NPC's getting other NPC's pregnant without direct interference from "The Watcher" or something else? 'Cause I can get my NPC's pregnant, but only by a hero.

grimreefer24601

I mean unmarried NPC sims who live in the village. The game only allows conception in sims who have a hero in their household. I had been trying to make sims who lived in the rabbit hole pregnant. They can become pregnant, but they go into the village to give birth and never return. Sometimes they even get their image in the relationship panel change to something completely different.

hmm, well, I don't usually concern myself with the mundane day to day dealings of the commoners *haughty sniff* they are beneath my Emperor's Notice.

I usually only really pay any attention to them if they do something I don't like or my Imperial Line needs fresh blood. or if i'm feeling tyrannical. *Off with their heads!*

Looks like a new update is needed for the new patch Grim.

A much better version is available in my core, and updated for 2.0. Since this is a core file, and the options in my core are in game tunable, I kind of think of it as a replacement.

Do you really prefer this over my core version? If so, I can update it, I just haven't seen the point in it.

If you or others really wnat this updated, I will, but I think you all will be happier with my core.

grimreefer24601
7th Aug 2011, 10:39 PM
My core contains an updated Pregnancy that allows you to choose if you want male/male pregnancy, female/female pregnany, female/male pregnancy (normal, but the man gets pregnant instead of the woman), and normal male/female pregnancy. All options can also be turned off making it a no pregnancy mod.

Wish for child is included, but it also allows you to choose the father. Adoption, Retire, and Age Child are also included.

You also have several naked options, and DEBUG option with 2.0.

All of the non-interaction options can be enabled or disabled at will. The interaction are always there to use if you wish.

As I said, it's a much better version with a lot more options.

It is meant as a replacement for all of my mods except for AutoSave which is a pure script mod so they work well together. Also, the same Male Maternity Clothing will work with it.

Wow, I sound like a salesman!

Anyway, I do believe my core will give you what you want and more.

DarthKitsune
8th Aug 2011, 04:40 AM
at the time of first load, none, and it worked fine, then I used a no cd mod cause 2.0 messed up my digital dl, and then i used the new medieval core v2, and it would only go to the loading screen then "Encounter a problem" and CTD. I could play without mods, but I don't ever play a game like that.

These mod's won't damage your game (especially if they've never successfully loaded). If removing the mods doesn't fix the problem it must lie elsewhere. You should always test crashes by removing your mods folder.

Otherwise, I have never experianced this error, so I don't know a solution for you. Perhaps try deleting your cache files. If they are currupted in some way they can cause this error.

This looks like such a fun mod! Thank you so much for taking your time to create this, I'm sure a lot of people are really grateful to you for this! (And me too, of course~ xD)

I just have one problem though! No matter how much I want to play with this mod, it just won't seem to work properly! D:

You see, I've downloaded all the files required that were stated up there, even going to your updated post of this mod but it still won't work on my Sims! At first, I went to the later, updated post and got the latest version of your "grim core" package, and when I installed it into the folder, TSM would start up, complete with the modified logo, yet it wouldn't get past the loading screen even when the bar was already full. The thing would just freeze with the cursor still doing the loading movement!!!!

Later on I realized that there was the "code enabler file" which I got as well, and when I placed it into the folder-- the game opened yet crashed each time the bar reached halfway, your modified logo of the game was no more to be seen.

I was hoping you could help me find out how to fix this so I can be able to use this mod! You see, I'm quite new at all these modding/techie/stuff and I was hoping you could maybe give me a gist of what's going on? @@;;;

Thank you so much and hoping for your swift reply! XD

When game freeze during load up, it's most times related to either an incompatle mod with your game version or a mod conflict.
Sadly fixing the above is trial & error aproach aka remove all mods put them in again 1by1 until it freeze again, then u'll know which is causing the problem.

This mod will not work for an current version of the game. All of the functionality of this mod has been moved to my core.

See post #61.

However, since you're here. Make sure you have d3dx9_31.dll in your Game/Bin folder. Also, don't use any of the mods from this thread at the same time as my core. They conflict. Badly.

Any further question about this mod shoud be in my core thread. This thread is no longer supported.
