Money wasn't the issue. The issue was that no matter who, what or how many times I did the installation thing...the damn thing wouldn't run. And I'm too frustrated to even try to deal with it. I've played it on a friend's computer on his account, so I know it's an epic game. I have this Final Fantasy online game-thing, but I haven't tried it.

What are similar games? Money isn't an issue if I love it.

I've tried PerfectWorld, but it wouldn't download. I love the Sims, but I want more of the WoW-fantasy like feel, and plus since I never leave my house, I want it where I can interact with other people while playing. -nerd-

I play Runescape now, but the graphics are awful and I got really bored of it really quickly, even when I upgraded to members for a while.

I could name a few, but without knowing what the technical issues are you encountered while trying WoW I think it be a moot point.

But look up info on GuildWars and Rift, they're closest to WoW, then there's also EverQuest II wich is looking a bit dated as it's slightly older then WoW.
Just google Fantasy & MMO and you'll find plenty.

I was like "Perfect World, Perfect World" when I firstly read the title. I would suggest Metin 2. It seems to be quite popular around here, at least. Or Jade Dynasty, which is made by Perfect World. Also, 4Story. They are quite similar to WoW.

I play Lord of the Rings Online since I couldn't afford to play WoW for a bit and got addicted. Guild Wars is another game like WoW except it lacks the skills such as tailor and miner that a lot of players use to make money. I had a problem where I couldn't play Guild wars or WoW, turns out my router was blocking the signal. I did the port thing the site has to help and it didn't work. I had to turn off my router SPI firewall and switch NAT filtering to open.

I'm not sure what the issue could be with you not being able to download or run things, but I play WoW. Have since the beginning, but recently I got bored with it. I was playing around and came across a browser game called A Mystical Land. Nothing to download and it runs right off your browser.

It doesn't have the greatest graphics in the world but it is oddly catching. You can cook, woodcarve, tailor, forge, fish etc., all while doing quests and they are working on player housing now where you can have your own garden and livestock. Like I said, not the greatest game ever made by far, but it has play value...at least while you are looking for something that suits your needs.

Well a really good game that doesn't cost but has that feel like WOW, would be Rift or Forsaken World. I had to take a break from WOW due to money, and found Forsaken World to be really addictive. The graphics are nice, the dungeon runs are quick and entertaining. It's a really nice game.

Rift is like World of Warcraft 2.0.

Better graphics, but with less content.

I played during the Beta testing and the similarities between Rift and Wow were uncanny. Since the game is fairly new, it isn't as polished, but still pretty good.

Guild Wars is also a really great MMO, but I'd wait until GW2 comes out. The current GW community is not as active as it used to be.
